Jeff Beck

The Blues meets Jazz. Jeff Beck invented what is called "fusion". He took traditional blues and mixed it with heavy doses of jazz to create his own, often imitated style. Beck took over guitar duties in the Yardbirds after Eric Clapton quit, and went on to form his own band: The Jeff Beck Group (with Rod Stewart on vocals). While it's true that he successfuly joined the tradition of Clapton with the new and inventive attack of Hendrix, his guitar speaks with it's own unique voice.

Two albums gave him God status and made him legendary: "Blow by Blow" (produced by Beatles producer George Martin), and "Wired", but every album he makes is a must. Beck's revolutionary playing has greatly influenced people like Joe Perry and Slash, and continues to amaze fans. (Click on the link to see "More Gods")
