Jimmy Page

The song did not remain the same. Jimmy Page was the third and last guitarrist to join The Yardbirds, and like his fellow alumni, he took a new and different road all his own. Page worked as a studio musician for a few years, playing in albums for the likes of Tom Jones, Petula Clark, and others, until he decided to form The New Yardbirds, along with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. Keith Moon (drummer for The Who) predicted the new band would go down "like a lead zeppelin", and a legend was born.

Even though George Harrison had dabbled in it long before him, it was Page (who came from the blues) who successfuly infused Eastern mysticism into hard Rock and Roll, creating a new unique sound that few can define, and even fewer have been able to duplicate. Page's contribution to the evolution of Rock is forever secure in history. (Click on the link to see "More Gods")
