Memories
As I strolled along the road by the bay,
Old memories came back to my mind,
I remembered your kisses and your winsome smile
When we walked there with both hands entwined.
Your cheeks were as red as the wild rose that grows,
Your teeth were so pearly and white,
And your auburn hair with the breeze it did blow
As we walked near the bay by moonlight.
The moon seemed to smile as we walked by the strand,
And scented the flowers by the shore,
Oh how I do miss your sweet kisses and smile
And wishes you'd come back once more.
We used to sit by the fence neath the fir trees,
We walked and we laughed and we kissed,
The fun we had then has all vanished and gone,
Your kisses and smile I have missed.
We listened to hear that old latch on the door,
The sound neant your mom calling you,
You were sweet sixteen then and eighteen was I
But our love for each other was true
Though the years have gone by,
I still love you my dear and I miss you more every day,
I still see the smile on your beautiful face
As I did on the road by the bay.
