The Torbay Heritage Museum, located in the Town Hall, officially opened in July 1988 by officials Jack Harris, Kevin Parsons and the Mayor of Torbay, Wilson Thorne.

The museum curator is Mrs. Jerri Pellegrinetti, a former volunteer of the Newfoundland Museum on Duckworth Street.

The museum is a recreation of the past with many artifacts donated. When it initially opened, the artifacts were displayed in a one room parlor-setting area across for the Public Library. Fortunately, due to high surplus of artifacts, Mrs. Pellegrinetti was able to extend her present day museum setting to two full size rooms, blocked with an array of articles, donated mainly by residents of Torbay.

Through the dedicated efforts of the Heritage Committee, several hundred items have been collected to date. These items have been arranged in a natural setting where possible and include:
