Duties of Director of Recreation
- Shall plan, develop and recommend a recreation progam for the municipality.
- Shall prepare reports on recreational facilities, equipment, programs, operational costs and benefits derived frorm existing recreation programs and facilities.
- Shall prepare itemized estimates of the financial requirements for facilities, equipment, personnel and project expenses necessary to effectively carry out the municipal recreation programs.
- Shall supervise all paid and upaid personnel working in support of the recreation program, assign and schedule projects, determine priorities, and allocate the function and responsibilities to be carried out by individuals and associations.
- Shall provide a liaison between sports governing bodies and recreation associations and the municipality and help in the coordination of their recreation programs.
- Shall keep the public informed on the variety of recreation programs available, schedule activities and encourage active participation.
- Shall supervise and promote use of parks within the municipality and help in the development of others.
- Shall carry out other duties that may be assigned by the manager, or where there is no manager, by the council.
