Duties of Treasurer
- Shall arrange for the safekeeping of all the funds and securities of the municipality.
- Shall receive all money paid to the muicipality and disburse funds of the municipality in accordance with procedures established by the council.
- Shall keep and maintain records of all assets and liabliities of the municipality and transactions affecting the financial affairs of the municipality.
- Shall compile, as insturcted by the manager, or where there is no manager, by the council, financial statements and reports relating to the financial affairs of the municipality.
- Within a month of the end of the financial year, prepare a full and detailed balance sheet and a statement of revenue and expenditure.
- Carry out the other duties that may be assigned to the manager, or where there is no manager, by the council.
