A rock that has undergone chemical or structural changes. Heat, pressure, or a chemical reaction may cause such changes.

Gneiss imbedded in the rock. I'm not sure about the parent rock . but you can clearly see the Gneiss imbedded in the rock. From the Tom Boy Mines near Telluride CO.
