About the Writer

Where to begin...

Well, most of you reading this probably already know a lot about me. However, I will include the basic information just in case.

My name is Mallory Corp and I am seventeen years old. I am a student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and I hope to obtain my degree in English. My plan for the future is to teach high school English and maybe even teach at the college level someday.

Many people ask me where my inspiration comes from, but that remains unknown. A gust of wind and heartbreak are equivalent when it comes down to their ability to move me. My writing is frequently written in a "voice" that is not my own and may not have anything to do withe me or my life. I am a constant observer and may write about a situation that I've created from seeing two people romancing in a coffee shop. I will write their story as I let it play out in my mind.

While I do love writing, I do not take it too seriously. I created this website for the reading pleaure of family and friends. I do appreciate constructive criticism and discussion, but I do not appreciate insults and mockery. Please keep that in mind upon signing the guestbook, which I hope you will all take a moment to do!

OTHER INTERESTS:

Throughout high school I was heavily involved in theatre and vocal music. I was in several vocal groups and had the opportunity to open for the world renown a capella group, Rockapella. I was also involved in many stage productions, including:

Once On This Island
Bye Bye Birdie
No, No, Nanette
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The Last Night of Ballyhoo
Murder Takes The Stage
Twelve Angry Jurors

"Final Dress Rehearsal"
"Reluctant Prophets"
"Special Guest"
"Why Do We Laugh?"

Now that high school is over, however, my schedule is waiting to be occupied with new activities. I am hoping to get back into the theatre somewhere here in Cleveland.

Since you now know more than you need to about me, please take a moment to browse through some of my writing and be sure to drop a line in the guestbook and tell me what you think!
