Joes Jeep Cherokee

Joes 2 door heep cherokee is quite the impressive machine. Lots of homegrown trickery went into building this buggy. I could fill up a whole site with all the details but here is the short of it. First some axles from a 79 F150 were stuffed with 4.56's, spooled and welded. The stock Ford mounting brackets were cut off the front axle and moved in about 3 inches on each side to line up with the subframe and increase wheel travel. the stock ford radius arms were cut, angled and lengthend to connect to stock f150 brackets that were mounted to the subframe and allow a point for mounting the tranny crossmember. The front axle was then moved about 4 inches forward from the origional jeep position to allow for larger tires and better approach angles. Joes rear 9 inch was mounted 2-3 inches rearward using toyota springs moved in about 4 inches on each side for more flex. The rear fenders got trimed and front flares (which are longer and higher than the rear flares) were mounted higher and further to the rear making a larger wheelwell that looks stock. A 302, T18 and np208 were stuffed in place of the 4 banger crap. 36" swampers finish off the package. This is a great set-up and works extremely well, future mods for Joe are fuel injection and 3 link coil rear suspension.
