FUKIN BRILLIANT of course
Opening with ‘delirious’ a rockingly good new song, Mike is the last one on stage, looking fantastic The energy is still there and he is the star of the show, god knows how he got away with not smacking one of the other guys with the mic stand!!! Andy is cool, unfortunately has a bad limp, but still plays great and still manages to get around the stage. Most of the faves are there, ‘back to mystery city, I can’t get it, motorvatin, boulivard of broken dreams, ending the show with ‘tragedy, taxi driver and up around the bend’. Personal fave of mine the emotionally charged ‘don’t you ever leave me’ leaves me shattered. And starting ‘malibu beach’ with the calypso version is a great moment. The other three members were tight and look good. My only disappointment was that they didn’t play longer, always the case when you are enjoying a gig! And yes I enjoyed the Serie Z show more. Did I miss it or was there no ‘until I get you’?
Diamond Dogs were great, love the sound, their attitude is good and it is pretty obvious they enjoy themselves. Not much crowd response to them in Bradford, the venue didn’t help. I think the whole gig would have worked better in a "more rock n roll setting" Although how can I complain I had a perfect view down at the front throughout the concert.
