John Lennon was the "father" of the Beatles. He was smart, he was funny, he was sweet, and he was a great musician; father; husband; friend; role-model. He was a hero. John Lennon was born on October 9th, 1940. His parents soon split, and his mother Julia (not really trusting herself to raise a kid) took young Johnny to live with his Auntie Mimi. He had a good relationship with his mum, but sadly could not see her enough. One day after tea with Mimi, she was hit by an off-duty policeman as she was crossing the street. She died when John was only sixteen. John had two sons. One named John Charles Julian in 1963 with Cynthia Powell, his first wife. Sean Taro, born on October 9th, 1975 (John's 35th birthday!!), was his second son with his second (and final) wife Yoko Ono. Both boys are beautiful, and John would be so proud. I'm sure he is... Unfortunately, when describing John, one must say 'was'. He 'was' on this earth. But now he is gone...to the great big Strawberry Fields in the sky.
The loss of his mother had a tremendous effect on him, and later prompted him to write such beautiful songs as "Mother" and "Julia". The latter happens to be my favorite song EVER!
John was the wittiest Beatle, making faces and always saying funny things. I can't even begin to describe what he does. Every time I watch A Hard Day's Night I cannot breathe. He had a way with words and how to say them...A lot of that humor must have been brought on by The Goons, the radio show John loved.
