Chris Benoit made his debut in the WWE in February 2000 and since then has given the fans many memorable fueds; most notably with Chris Jericho,
Kurt Angle and The Rock. It seemed nothing could stop Chris Benoit, showcasing some amazing technical skill, becoming a multi-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and doing some high risk manuvers too. But then disaster struck...! In June 2001, Chris Benoit fell victim to a career threatening neck injury and was put on the shelf for over a year.
It was a long hard road back to the WWE, but Chris Benoit did return and once again put on some amazing matches. Those who have followed his career, and know the resilience of The Canadian Crippler, realise that no injury will hold him back. Many had told The Crippler so many times through his career that he could never win "the big one", he was told that he just didn't have what it takes to be World Champion, but on 14th March 2004, at WrestleMania XX
Chris Benoit silenced all the critics and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Even though Chris Benoit has accomplished so much and has done so much for the wrestling business, it's a shame that shall all be over shadowed by the "Benoit Family Tragedy" which occured in June 2007. Despite the details of the tragedy, the wrestling world has lost one of the greatest talents ever to grace the squared circle.
