Life as a mommy of two is never dull...
I've learned that a 3 year old tot will put sand, milk drops and whatever he can find into his cast. Chance wore a cast on his right arm for 3 weeks and banging it against the wall became his war cry. It's our first broken bone experience for Joe & I and we hope to never endure it again! Now he's jumping, skipping and biking better than before!

I've had to face the undeniable fact that my little baby is growing up... at 18 months, Cole is quite a force to be reckon with! He's now sleeping on a toddler bed, chattering up a storm, and stalking his older brother! LOL What a gregarious little wonder he's turning out to be!
In the past few weeks... the boys met their favorite little monkey,
Curious George, who signed Chance's cast. The cast also didn't stop Chance from finishing the annual 5K (3.1 miles) Children's Volksmarch with Cole walking more than his share. They both got medals for their big accomplishment. The day before Chance got his cast off, the boys made sugar cookies in celebration of the BIG day! They used cookie cutters and their fingers to personalize their own cookie to eat! Yummy!
As for Mother's Day...
it was a nice, no frill day for me.
Just the way I like it! No housework, no chores. Beautiful bouquets & cards from my boys, and dining out...not once, but twice at our tasty neighborly restaurants. What a treat for me!

Motherhood brings as much joy as ever, it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too. Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired, for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality especially while you struggle to keep your own.
~ Marguerite Kelly & Elia Parsons
I sit here quietly
Watching them while they sleep
I wonder
And my heart is torn
How my love for them
Grew so strong
That I feel breathless
It sometimes even hurts
Yet I am never tired
Of watching their little faces
As they sleep.
I can see
That they are running
In their dreams
Their legs move
Back and forth...
Are they on a beach?
Or in green grass fields?
So what if when I am tired
They ruin the room again
Are they not the reasons
Which makes me forget every pain
Oh Lord! Tell me
How possibly could I live?
Before I was a mother
I never knew this bliss. ~ Carl Sandburg ~
