Manson and Dita to Divorce
5 January 2006
Dita Von Teese (real name Heather Sweet) has filed for divorce from husband Marilyn Manson. Divorce papers released have cited "irreconcilable differences", with 'close' friends to Dita stating Manson's distance of late, and his drug abuse escallating.
Reports indicate the papers were filed in December 2006, close to Christmas, but due to Manson's 'unavailability', Dita was unable to serve them on him. It is believed that Dita had moved from the marital home without Manson's knowledge. Divorce papers state that Dita is not seeking spousal support from Manson.
Due to this site's webmistresses aquaintance with Ms. Von Teese, we will not be posting any of the speculated rumours about the divorce (IE: tabloid gossip), unless varified by one or other party. We wish Manson and Dita both the best during this troubled time.
Manson shows support to charity - Project Nightlight
6 November 2006
Just in case you think Marilyn Manson was all bad consider that also on display at his Halloween Art Show was a booth manned by Project Nightlight, a non-profit organization dedicated to "empowering teens to overcome abuse".
That night a very friendly, most ungothy young blonde woman saw me investigating the literature at the Project Nightlight booth which was opposite the gift bag bank at the entrance to Manson's private gallery. She immediately sprung to attention and answered the many questions I had about the organization including informing me that this was the first charity Marilyn Manson has ever agreed to lend his name and support to.
"Oh" I replied. "So the proceeds of the show go to you guys?" "No," she answered but he was giving them a free print to auction off and after years of being courted by numerous charities he has picked Project Nighlight as the organization most worthy of his support.
It's a good fit. Looking closer at Project Nightlight's literature and website I can see that Mr. Manson would be a great spokesman (and benefactor) for this organization.
"One of the challenges of raising awareness of child abuse" their pamphlet reads "is grabbing kids attention through the barrage of messages that they already see on a daily basis. At Project Nightlight we believe we can change this by packaging our message in a format that is appealing to them. This is where Project Nightlight Shines! We use media that is familar and appealing to kids, such as edgy anti-abuse films, music and apparel."
Utilizing "hip and entertaining guest speakers that kids can relate to" is one of their ways they reach out as well as screening 'cutting edge short films" and selling T-shirts "that you'd actually wear in public, complete with hip anti-abuse designs."
I'm sure a lot of these kids are already wearing Marilyn Manson T-shirts.
"Project Nightlight is striving to bring the silent epidemic of child abuse to the forefront of communities around the country" the pamphlet quotes Don Betz, the President of Bikers Against Child Abuse (Sacramento Chapter)."The syngery of BAVA and Project Nightlight is paramount and your support is greatly appreciated."
Seems that with the support of Marilyn Manson (who could easily hang with the bikers in Sacramento), this worthy charity has a much great chance to get their message out to a wider audience and to the kids who really need to hear it. According to the Project Nightlight literature, "researchers estimate that 6 to 9 million cases of child abuse occur each year. However fewer than 3 million cases get reported. What about the other 3 to 6 million?"
These kids need to know that they are not alone and that there are groups like Project Nightlight who are reaching out to give children "the knowledge, confidence and inspiration needed to overcome abuse".

Manson Opens Art Gallery
2 November 2006
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Musician, visual artist, auteur, director, provocateur and cultural icon Marilyn Manson can now add art gallery owner to his curriculum vitae. On October 31st Manson will christen a new space, "The Celebritarian Corporation Gallery Of Fine Art," with a reception featuring an exhibition of his original artwork. Already praised for several solo exhibitions of his watercolors displayed from LA to Paris to Berlin, Manson will now curate this new Los Angeles gallery.
Following the gallery's opening ceremony Manson will perform a newly-released song "This is Halloween" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. This marks the first time he has agreed to play a late-night show on network television, and, like anything Manson does, it is sure to be far from a typical production. The song is featured on the 2-disc soundtrack from the re-released 3D version of Tim Burton's classic The Nightmare Before Christmas.
"It will be the vampire national anthem," Manson recently told Rolling Stone.
And, last but not least, the piece de resistance of all this activity will be a new album, currently in production.

Manson in latest issue of Rolling Stones magazine
24 September 2006
Marilyn Manson appears on page 33 of the magazine, in "the smoking section". The article reads:
"The last time the Smoking Section checked in with Marilyn Manson, he let the world in on his movie project, Phantasmagoria the Visions of Lewis Carroll. In just a few weeks, he'll begin filming in Paris. But he has more up his sleeve. On Halloween, he'll celebrate the opening of his new L.A. art gallery, located at the nearly satanic address of 667 Melrose ("I looked at the lease and said, you have got to be kidding me," he says.)
More awesomely, Manson has been making music, including the new tune This is Halloween for the upcoming DVD release of Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. "It will be the vampire national anthem," says Mason. "Black panties all across the world will moisten at the sound of my voice."
So far, he has half an album's worth of tracks, one of which, "Rebels Without Applause", addresses Manson's notion that young bands suck these days. "I'm not the bitter guy that's jealous of these other bands that are coming up and stealing my thunder," he says. "I invented thunder and rain. I am THE black. And I'm here to vacuum the red carpet."
If that's not enough, Manson is releasing his own line of absinthe. "We hope to have it out in time for parents to give it to their children for Christmas."
