Tim Skold is the first international band member of Marilyn Manson.

Born, 14 December 1966, in Sweden, to parents Linda and Lennart (his father is a professional drummer), Skold started early with his musical career.

Early bands included "Act", "Shylock". Skold’s first public performance was at the age of 12/14 at the Gotenborg Fair.

In the early 1980’s Skold met up with Harry Cody and together they formed "Kingpin". Their first album was "Welcome Ton of Bop Town Centre". In 1986 the band moved to the United States, and continued their music but under the new name of "ShotGun Messiah". Over the next four years, the band released two more albums and an EP.

In 1993, following the breakdown of Shotgun Messiah, Tim began working on his own solo project – a self titled album featuring him on vocals and playing guitar. It was a punk/industrial metal inspired album, and was released in 1996. From that album Skold had successes with tracks being used for numerous movie soundtracks; "Hail Mary" was used on the ‘Disturbing Behaviour’ soundtrack, whilst "Chaos" was to be heard on ‘Universal Soldier: The Return’ and Sony Playstation game ‘Twisted Metal 4’. The self titled album also saw Tim performing a small number of live dates. And then all changed as Skold joined KMFDM in 1997.

Skold’s work with KMFDM began as a mere collaboration on the track "Anarchy" and the album "Symbols". However this lead to a full time call up with the band.

However the collaboration was short lived. KMFDM broke up in 1999 (or dependant on where you are looking, they took a brief hiatus). But, much like the Phoenix rising, out of the ashes of one band came another: MDFMK. Joining him in this line up was KMFDM founder member Sascha Konietzko and Lucia Cifarelli from Drill. In 2000 they released their own self titled album. The album was largely similar to KMFDM’s work but was also heavily influenced by Skold’s own work, as previously heard on his solo album. It was a mix of Europop and trance, heavily but smoothly synthesised and slickly produced. It was, however, their one and only release. Soon the members of MDFMK rejoined KMFDM, along with new artists and picked up where they had left off.

In 2002, Tim continued to collaborate with KMFDM, however he was also beginning to work with Marilyn Manson as a producer. Their first joint piece of work came on the soundtrack to video-game-turned-movie Resident Evil. They also worked on the cover of Tainted Love for the soundtrack to teen parody flick Not Another Teen Movie. Tim made a guest appearance in the video for the song. Rumours began to persist on the internet that Skold would be joining full time and when Twiggy announced his decision to leave the band, citing differences in the direction the band was taking to how he envisioned things, Skold took up the mantel of bassist, whilst also co producing on the fifth studio album: The Golden Age of Grotesque. And this brings up to the here and now. Tim continues to play bass for the band, and it is rumoured that he will take over the guitar role following the departure of John 5. He has also guest appeared at a couple of KMFDM live shows when time has permitted.
