Our beautiful Billie was taken too soon by a devastating house fire. She is now on the Rainbow Bridge, probably directing traffic. She is desperately missed by Jimmy and Wendy Bettis, Jerry and Lynda, and all the Boxer and canine fancy who saw her show. Goodnight sweet Billie. God just had to have you close.

At only 6 months and 13 days old, Billie was awarded Grand Sweepstakes over an entry of 35 by breeder-judge Cora Verhulst. She went on to win her class of 9 in the Specialty. Two weeks later Billie continued her winning ways, garnering a 3-pt. major at just barely 7 months of age. At the age of just 11 months, she was awarded Best Puppy in Specialty and RWB at the Oregon Boxer Club under prestigious breeder/judge Larry Sinclair. She has 3 other major reserves from the puppy classes.
Continuing her incredible winning ways, Billie, at just 12 months and 2 weeks old, was awarded WB/BOW at the Golden Gate Boxer Club under acclaimed breeder/judge Cheryl Robbins for a 4-pt. major. The very next weekend, Billie finished in grand style, going WB/BOW/BOS at the San Diego Boxer Club Specialty. Finishing with 3 majors, 2 Specialty BOW--she is indeed an extraordinary young lady, much like her namesake, the great Billie Holiday.
During her show career Billie achieved much: an Award of Excellence at the 2001 National, 3 BISS, multiple BOBs and Group placements. Billie is also an all-breed International BIS winner and an International Champion (all in one weekend of showing). She was always shown by her Mom, Wendy Bettis. Billie retired from the campaign trail following her extraordinary recognition at the National.
Billie had the following health checks: 1) cleared of SAS by a board-certified cardiologist, 1/25/01, with no abnormalities detected; 2) hips certified "good," OFA-BX-2358G24F-PI; 3) DNA profile # P76026.
From her one and only litter, Billie has produced one champion, Ch. Irondale's Poetry In Motion.
