Satch goes Best In Specialty Show under Mildred Bryant, 2/02
Satch accumulated numerous BOBs, multiple Group placements, and two Group 1 under prestigious breeder-judges John Connolly and Joe Heine. He began his Specials career in earnest in January 2002, semi-retiring in August after achieving enough points to gain his Top 20 status.
We're so proud of our Satchmo. Finishing in fine style at just barely 14 months of age, he made his Mom an ABC Dam of Merit. Along the way to his championship, he received many prestigious wins from the Puppy Classes: a BOB/Group 2, Grand Sweepstakes, and Specialty WD.
As you can see from the above successes, we're thrilled. But, Satch has large pawprints to fill, not only his sire and dam, but his 2 extraordinary siblings: Ch. Jems-Rosend's Jamin Uptown (finishing at only 10 months of age taking 2 5-pt majors during ABC Regional week) and Ch. Rosend's After Midnight (finishing at 15 months of age with 3 majors), Nick.
Satch been both ausculated and has had an ECG w/Doppler, 3/7/01, by a board-certified cardiologist, with no heart abnormalities detected (OFA number pending). Also, DNA profile # P76024. Satch was struck by a particularly aggressive lymposarcoma and likely cancer of the liver. From his diagonsis to his death it was just over a week. He is desperately missed by us. He was so often my traveling partner and I could always count on Satchmo to bring a smile to my face...he was my resident clown. Goodnight my sweet boy.
Both Satch's parents have been tested by a board certified cardiologist and holtered and found to have no heart abnoramities.
