THE PRINCE _______________________________________________________________
The following if the
description of what a prince is and what his or her
responsibilitys are within vampire socity.
_______________________________________________________________
THE
PRINCE
By fair
means or foul one who is a prince (either male or female)
has risen to the position of overall ruler of the
vampires indiscriminate of clan in a
particular city. They are generally the most powerful
vampire in the city and have great resources at their
disposal. It is the job of the Prince to
make sure the Masquerade is upheld and the traditions
pertaining to it are kept, if they are not kept then the
Prince will mete out punishment to
the transgressors. A prince answers to the Camarilla
Council, a group consisting of some of the most powerful
active vampires in existence.
The Prince
tends to be a distant figure who has few dealings with
higher generation vampires, who may only see him or her
once or twice upon
arrival in the city- if at all.
The Prince, a leader, a
figurehead, a fool. A prince leads, but is directed more
so by his whims than justice. A mockery of the very title
they hold.
As with all things in kindred society, this is but a dark
reflection of their mortal lives. Using influence, money
and sometimes subtle, often times
direct force, they rule absolutely. Their word is law in
their city.
Within the cities if the Camarilla, there is an darkness
that grows. They are called the Sabbat They have
chosen Camarilla cities to become the
front line of a war, a kindred war, the Jyhad. The Prince
of a city is a prime target for these Sabbat. This is why
the clans in the Camarilla huddle
like children in their darkened cities, afraid to walk
the streets. Remove the head, and the body dies. The
Sabbat know, that if you destroy the
Prince, the other kindred will enter into open warfare
for the position of ultimate leadership, further
weakening the Camarilla. Uneasy lies the head
that wears the crown, in more ways than these very words
could ever convey.
