The History
Long ago, before the world of Ashr'alan was united, there was a tribe of rogue dwarves that lived on the slopes of Mt. Rizam. They were excellent craftsmen, and they forged many wonderful blades that they used to trade with the elves and humans that lived in the forest below. One of those blades that they traded was the Starlight Blade, their greatest creation. In exchange for the blade, the elven trader handed over the pendants of the land.
The pendants, created by sorcerers, were later confiscated by the soldiers of Rizam City, and were handed over to their King. They were later given to the king of Maxima, who then gave them to the House of Thornes. Generations later, Riar Thorne received them from his parents as a wedding gift. During the Revolution, in which Riar overthrew and banished the monarchs, he distributed the pendants to his kin. As a tradition, after each possessor died, his/her first born would receive the pendant that was left behind.
Powers
Because the pendants were created individually by each Elven sorcerers of the Council of the Moon and Sun, each has it's own powers and weaknesses. The souls contained within each pendant feed the possessor energy, giving him/her super-natural powers. But with each use, the souls within corrupt the user's thoughts. Eventually, he/she will lose their sanity completely. Each pendant strengthens in two ways, as the user strengthens, or as the soul stones gains a new soul.

D'hareon- Dellan received this pendant from his father. It is currently embedded in his chest, above his heart. D'hareon, made of gold and rubies, is shaped like a tear. Its soul stone is in the center and is the size of a marble. (currently contains 6 souls) Later passed onto Oenslayer.
Salaza- Nelryn received this pendant the day she and her sister were adopted into the family, Nelryn receiving it because she was the older of the two. Salaza, made of silver with a medium-sized violet jade rim, is shaped in a circle, and the jade reflects the health of the bearer. A dark violet soul stone in the center. Nelryn is able to control her rage that is caused by her pendant due to the fact that she is a healer and has an undeniable good in her. (currently contains 3 souls) Later passed onto Neaira.
D'mon- Malek received this crimson pendant after his parents was killed. Made of gold and ringed with rubies and shaped like a cross, this is one of the strongest pendants. In the up-most part lay the emerald that contains the souls (the soul stone). The emerald was weakened due to carelessless by the mage D'mon during it's creation, so the souls are more powerful than the other pendants. (currently contains 2 souls)
Ramaran- Creg received his pendant from his father at the same time that his twin (Adam) received his. It is embedded in the center under his chest. Ramaran is shaped as a blood drop with a red ruby in the center and gold on the outer-area, with the gold there is 3 Diamonds in a space Pattern. Each Diamond is the size of an ant. When Creg gets angry, Ramaran's Ruby center begins to change into the color blue. (currently contains 5 souls)
Mazara- Patrick received his pendant from his father at the same time as Dellan received his D'hareon. It is also currently embedded in his upper chest. Mazara, made of platinum with a diamond outer-area, is shaped like a tear as well. It has twin soul stones, one at the very top and one at the very bottom. Each is the size of a marble. (currently contains 7 souls) Later passed onto Ayla and Daelin.
Aduman- Adam received his pendant at the same time his twin (Creg) did,it is embedded in his upper chest shaped like a half-moon with 2 shaped ruby stars in the middle. When Adam performs a power or expresses a strong feeling of anger the other half of the moon emerges as 2 more ruby shaped stars appear combining the four stars to a large green ruby as it glows representing a large meteor crashing through a moon. This pendant performs cosmic powers as to solar energies and such. (Contains 3 Souls) It was later passed onto Zeke.
Raska- Arthren received this pendant when he returned home from his journey to manhood. It is shaped like that of two circles overlapping each other. This symbolizes the moon and sun, good and evil, darkness and light. Arthren is trapped in this overlap, and is good as well as evil. The pendant enables Arthren to shift the shadows, and bend the light. He is also immune to curses and spells that take over his mind. He has already become insane, but it only appears on the battlefield. He has managed to control the rage because of his side of good, but the only thing that could truly take him to peace is a mystical being that he hasn’t revealed to anyone yet. It was later passed on to Felicia.
Midhir- Kiriya was given this pendant when she returned to Maxima and became an official member of the family. It is a crescent-shaped sapphire surrounded by a thin ring of platinum set in the lower part of her sternum. Being the only non-human member of the Thornes, the pendant has a different affect on her. The stone changes shades of blue depending on the cycle of the moon.
