Sony Pictures Imageworks` Rob Legato has been selected as the visual effects supervisor for Warner Bros.` much-anticipated "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer`s Stone" film based on the best-selling book by J.K. Rowling. Legato, whose credits include "Titanic" for Digital Domain and the upcoming Robert Zemeckis film "What Lies Beneath" for SPI, is in England setting up Potter. The film, produced by David Heyman, is expected to be a whopper of an FX show, with the evil Voldemort done in CGI and featuring a high-spirited game of flying broomsticks. The film is scheduled to bow in November 2001. Maggie Smith, Tim Roth and Robbie Coltrane are in the Chris Columbus film.
