Emerald Weapon
Emerald Weapon is one of the hardest
enemies in Final Fantasy 7. Before you battle him, you might want to
get Underwater materia, which allows you to breath underwater. By equipping this
materia, the twenty minute timer on the battle will be removed. In order to get Underwater
materia, you need morph an enemy called Ghost Ship. The Ghost Ship is found in the tunnel before
entering Junon's Underwater Reactor. He is also one of the final enemies in
Gold Saucer's Battle Square. When you morph the Ghost Ship, you will receive an item called
the Guide Book. There is a man in Kalm who says that he wants three rare items.
These items are the Guide Book, the Earth Harp, and the Desert
Rose. Give him the Guide Book and in return he will give you Underwater Materia.
Now I will give you the strategy I used to defeat Emerald. I used Cloud, Tifa, and Barret for this battle,
but it doesn't really matter who you use, as long as they are at a high level.
Everyone in my party was at level 70 or higher. I equipped Cloud with Ultima
Weapon, Escort Guard, and Sprint Shoes. I equipped Tifa with Premium Heart, Minerva
Band, and Sprint Shoes. And I equipped Barret with Missing Score, Imperial Guard, and
Sprint Shoes. Now for the materia, I equipped Cloud with Knights of the Round (KOR) attached
to HP Absorb, Mime, W-Summon, and two mastered HP Pluses. I equipped Barret with
Quadra Magic attached to Graviy at level three or better, Mime, and two mastered HP Pluses. And I equipped
Tifa with Mime, two mastered HP Pluses, Underwater, and Final Attack attached to Pheonix.
You should not equip anymore materia than this, because Emerald has an attack
which does 1111 for every materia equipped. To initiate battle, run into Emerald with the submarine. Start off the battle using
KOR on Emerald. Since you have W-Summon equipped, you will be able to use it twice. And because
you have HP Absorb attached to KOR, you won't have to worry about your HP.
Have the other members in your party mime KOR, and continue miming it until this
chain is broken, if it ever is broken. If the chain gets broken, use gravity, and keep
miming it. Emerald should be dead in no time. I'm not sure how much HP Emerald has. One time
I heard he has a little over 500,000, and another time I heard that he had 1.5 million HP. I would
guess that he has anywhere from 800,000 to 1 million HP. When the battle is over, you will
receive the Earth Harp. Go to Kalm, and talk to the man who gave you the Underwater materia. Give him the Earth Harp, and in return he will
give you Master Magic, Master Summon, and Master Command.
Ruby Weapon
I thought Ruby Weapon was much more easier to defeat
than Emerald Weapon. Again, I used Cloud, Tifa and Barret. Before you battle Ruby,
get into a small battle that you can easily win. While in that battle, kill the two
members of your party that you do not wish to use. I used Cloud, so I killed Tifa and
Barret. The point of doing this is so Ruby doesn't cast an attack that could possibly
remove your strongest character from battle, which in my case was Cloud. For this battle,
I equipped Cloud with Ultima Weapon, Escort Guard, and Ribbon.
For materia, I gave him KOR attached to HP Absorb, W-Summon, Mime, two mastered HP Pluses, 4x-Cut,
and other materia that I didn't use, but wanted to gain AP for. To initiate battle, fly
over Ruby, which is found with his eye sticking out of the desert sand in the Gold
Saucer area. When you start the battle, wait for Ruby to put his tentacles in the ground. When he does
this, use W-Summon and cast the first KOR on his tentacles, and the second on Ruby himself. Continue
miming this until Ruby is dead. Once you defeat Ruby, you will receive the Desert Rose.
Go to the man in Kalm and give him this, and in return, he will give you a gold chocobo.
Good luck!
