The Freelands

Facts

History

The Freelands have always been, as their name implies, free. Nomadic tribes, merchants, families, trappers, hunters, all migrated to the freelands, and settled on their own little, though sometimes very large lands.

Small town sprung up around Summit Lake, while others grew deep within the fertile Hills of Desperation. A worldwide known inn graces the heart of the Freelands, and welcomes all travelers, regardless of race, creed, or ethics.

The Freelands have never had a leader, only bands of freedom fighters, led by the occasional captain or general, that helped to ensure the nation's free society.

Recent History

Today you couldn't get lost in the freelands if you tried, the road, trail and sign systems are beyond compare, small towns litter every few miles or so, and the people are generally kind and willing to help. The variety of peoples, races and ethics, make the Freelands the most diversified region in Destiny. Guides abound, and are more than willing to escort travelers to anywhere on the continent, hence the Freeland's nickname "the world's trailhead", since it borders every other Country, save Indara. The Freeland mentallity has even spread far to the north, where the Orcan society of Vrinn-Norr has adopted it's ideals.
