History

The kingdom of Solenthe was founded several decades ago by a large group of nomadic hunter/trappers, as they traversed deep into the Aerithian forest and emerged in the high, fertile mountains above. Here they killed, trapped and caught endless game. The mountain streams filled their cooking pots, washed them when they were dirty, supplied them with fish, and quenched their thirst. The trees provided wood for their homes, and logs for their fires. Soon, more and more peoples spilled from the forests and nearby lands.

Eventually gold was discovered, along with priceless gemstones, and thereafter, mines sprung up upon the cliffs. Workers and fortune seekers cascaded into the region like an avalanche. Most were Dwarven, hoping to stake a claim in the fertile wealth bed.

Eventually prominant leaders arose, most were the newly rich, and were looking for a way to throw around their new wealth. But a few were righteous in their views, and forseeing a threat due to their fledgling country's wealth, decided to form a government, one of protection and defense.

The capital city of Kingshire was founded high upon Cradle Mountains, surrounded by the granite peaks, and protected from the greedy hands of outsiders.

A wealthy Diamond and gold miner was named Solenthe's first King, Richard Tellane. King Richard ran the country like he ran his mines, efficient and profitable. Soon Solenthe became the wealthiest country in all of destiny, a title it holds to this day. King Richard fell ill with a common cold, and died 2 weeks later from complications, leaving the throne to his son, Prince Martine Tellane.

The young king ascended to the throne with lofty ideals, ideas that sent taxes rising into the clouds. King Martine was bent on growing the countries military might into a formidable force, and he succeeded. The Solenthian Forces are strictly a defense force, and will only attack if provoked, and are revered across the world as being highly honorable and proud. Each willing and sometimes hoping for the opportunity to lay down his or her life for their Country.

After King Martine became old and unable to keep up with his kingly duties, he reluctantly passed the throne down to his only heir, his Daughter, Jennea.
