The Commonwealth of Starfell

Basic Information

History

The Commonwealth of Starfell is a country steeped in religion and penetance. A country ruled not by it's ruler, but by it's Religion and god.

The Starfellian fascination, and devotion to their single God was set in motion but a few decades ago, on a cool autumn night when the sky erupted in a pink, red and orange fireshow. Most were returning from the fields or other places of work that night, and as they gazed upwards, their God himself they say met their very eyes. A glowing fireball descended the heavens, it's white tail carving a path across the pink sky. Then silence..

In the days and weeks to follow, hundreds of small search parties scowered the mountainsides and valleys for remnants of the holy comet, when one day, as winter crept upon the northern lands, a farmer and his young daughter came upon a blackened hole in one of their far fields. As the humble farmer leaned over the hole to examine it's contents, a white light blanketed his face, blinded, the man could not look away, his eyes transfixed on the metallic, cobalt blue rock in the gaping hole before him. The small girl quickly pulled her father from the light, his face etched in a perfect calm, his eyes as white as the fresh snow that fell around them.

The farmer's daughter led her father back to their house several miles away, and in the coming years that followed, the farmer never regained his sight. The holy rock was aptly named the Heart of Aereth, and taken to the capital city of Divinia for safe keeping.

The Farmer was Olen Loreen, and his first Born son, Olen Loreen the second, first Holy Saint of Starfell.

Recent History

Modern Day Starfell is ruled by the kind and pious Saint Olen the 3rd. The people live well, from the lowest serf, to the highest government official, all are treated as equals, and all share in their God's bounty. Crime is not present in Starfell, save for when a scarce traveler might commit a rare foul act. Starfell's enemies are few, only Carnalle and 8 moons hold any ill-will. The populace think of all peoples as either believers, or lambs that must be brought into the fold. Most are overly righteous, and tend to force their beliefs on others.

Today Aereth's Heart lies in an unknown vault beneath Divinia, only to be handled by the Saint himself. The holy symbol of Starfell may be sealed away in a dark, cold prison, but it's glow still warms the hearts of every Starfellian.
