Physical Description: Burnout’s newly created shell employs a largely unused body type known as a Split-Changer. His body is cleanly divided into two parts. The critical section is known as the core unit. It is the basic body and contains all vitals. The core unit acts as an individual Transformer body. It has both a robot and vehicle mode and transforms between the two. The auxiliary unit is used for creation of a second more powerful vehicle mode and a larger, more powerful robot mode. The auxiliary unit detaches and can be stored in subspace when the core unit is functioning separately. The two parts combine is the same way a gestalt does.
-Core Vehicle Mode: A slight, sleek jet colored bright red and dark blue with some grey areas. Two small exhaust burners propel the jet forward. A small exhaust port underneath allows vertical hovering and flight. A pair of laser blasters is attached to the front of the wings, right alongside the body of the plane. Blow bombs can be unleashed from a port underneath. They are automatically activated when released. The bombs have no propulsion of their own, they are simply dropped.
-Core Vehicle Mode: Burnout’s primary robot mode is that of his core unit. The color scheme is the same as that of his jet mode. The upper chest and shoulders are larger than the abdomen and midsection. The chest is bright red and the shoulders are blue. The arms are grey and the hands are black. The legs are black and blue and thin. In this form, Burnout stands 10 feet tall. His face is stern and dark blue with bright orange eyes. A sort of slight helmet covers the rest of his head. Burnout’s sword sheath is contained within his right leg. On his left waist is the retracted bo and the container which holds the blow bombs. On his back are the two propulsion jets that allow limited flight in this mode. On the tops of his shoulders are the pair of laser guns, one on each.
-Gestalt Vehicle Mode: This ground assault vehicle is massive and heavily armored. There is no set color scheme, as it changes depending on the environment. The vehicle can somewhat be described as a mix of a terran Lamborghini and a Humvee. The wheels in the front are moderate sized and protected from the front by a sloping grill. The rear wheels are extremely large and run to the very top of the vehicle. They are thick enough and armored enough themselves so that they do not require a shield. A large round exhaust in the back emits fire during peak performance. A jump system is incorporated into the bottom of the vehicle to allow this form to “leap” in the air dozens of feet to avoid obstacles. The turning system is excellent considering the bulk of the vehicle. Two large cannons are attached to the shell. A smaller rocket cannon extends from the front of the vehicle, while a larger, fusion cannon is attached to the central section.
-Gestalt Robot Mode: Burnout’s larger, more powerful robot mode is massive and heavily armored. The shoulders are very large with the massive rear wheels attached to the back with small propulsion jets underneath. The legs and arms are much larger in gestalt robot mode, and the head is replaced with a separate gestalt cranium. The face is dark grey with a black helmet. Hands and feet are gold in color. The heavy shoulders are dark green. The smaller, front wheels make up Burnout’s waist. The rocket cannon is housed along his back between the two rear wheels, while the fusion cannon runs down the right side next to the wheel. In this form, Burnout stands fifteen feet high. His strength is increased, however speed is slowed in this mode.
Skills:
Burnout’s skills are dependent on his identity at the moment. The Burnout identity is proficient in military strategy and tactics, while the Strylex identity specializes in medicine and science.
-Endurance
-Physician: Field Medic; General; Surgeon
-Science: Biology; Chemistry; Medical; Metascience;
-Paranormal
-Technical: Med; High; Super
-Leadership
-Strategy
-Tactics
-Metallikato
Equipment:
-Medical Kit: The basic tools of the medical trade are included in this kit. Among the instruments are syringes, needles, energon and metal blades, welds, and staples.
-Radioscan: A type of Cybertronian X-ray machine, it allows a doctor to look through the shell and examine any layer of the bot’s structure. Very useful during surgery.
-Spark Remover: A standard issue, Vehicon spark remover.
Weapons:
-Temp Pads: On each of Burnout’s palms is a temperature modulation pad. The right hand pad creates incredible temperatures able to melt the shell of a Vehicon. The other palm, the left, creates intense cold capable of freezing metal. Burnout has engineered a chemical output system in his wrists that when activated shoots a special chemical onto the temp pads. When combined with intense heat flames are created. If paired with extreme cold, ice is formed.
-Blow Bombs: The size of a small fist, these spherical bombs are hand thrown. A button activates a simple blast system. The ball will explode whenever it comes into contact with an object after activation. These explosions will destroy a Vehicon drone, and do moderate damage to a Transformer.
-Bo Staff: This ten foot long metal staff is an essential metallikato weapon. It is retractable to a single foot in length allowing easy storage. There is nothing unusual about this basic tool. The bo is very strong and hard to snap, but hardly unbreakable. Small slots at the tips of the stave allow for objects such as a spear tip to be added.
-Katana: A long steel katana with a single blade. The hilt is blue and the blade itself is bright silver. The edge is straight rather than curved. Extremely sharp, the blade is able to slice through most metals with ease. Also able to reflect mild laser blasts.
-Pistol: A simple projectile pistol. It holds 12 rounds to a clip, and Burnout keeps several clips on his person at any time. The weapon itself is black and kept in a holster on Burnout’s lower back. It fires metal bullets which can pierce most Cybertronian armor. Generally not a lethal weapon.
-Laser Cannons: A pair of small laser cannons are used by the core unit in both robot and vehicle mode. In jet form, the laser cannons are located at the base of the wings along side the body of the plane. They fire a moderate light blue laser blasts. A single shot is generally not lethal. They are rapid firing, the only way the lasers are able to do substantial damage to a Cybertronian.
-Rocket Cannon: A powerful cannon that blasts a single rocket at a time. In gestalt vehicle mode this cannon extends from the hood a fires forward. In gestalt robot mode it is stored along his back. The cannon is hand-held in robot mode. The recoil is quite great. The rocket containers hold six rockets each and are inserted into the back of the cannon in robot mode.
-Fusion Cannon: Burnout’s most powerful weapon, the fusion cannon is available only in gestalt modes. In ground assault mode the fusion cannon is attached to the rear roof of the vehicle. In robot mode, it is held on the right shoulder where it can swing backward into an inactive position. When in use, the cannon is swung forward over the shoulder and aimed with the right arm. Recoil is very great and the cannon runs off of Burnout’s own fuel sources. Requires a few seconds to recharge in between blasts.
Personality: Perhaps no Vehicon has suffered so much from Megatron’s mind controls as Burnout. Now reduced to a near multiple personality disorder, even Burnout himself does not now who he truly is. When Megatron first created his Vehicon troops, Burnout was born for the sole purpose to act as a reliable leader with unquestionable loyalty to his master. No one knows why Burnout was chosen for this task, but it appears that Megatron chose wisely. Never has Burnout show any wavering in his loyalty, and has on more than one occasion saved his master’s life. Megatron has had no greater ally among any Transformer as Burnout, his greatest lieutenant.
It is unknown just what composes the personality called “Burnout.” It is known to few just how great the mind controls Megatron coded into Burnout’s mind were. Fail-safes were included on all Vehicons, but Burnout was literally brainwashed, possibly brutalized, into the efficient commander he became. Burnout’s loyalty to Megatron has defined him the most. Generally not liked by his comrades, Burnout became more and more reclusive as time went on. As others pushed him away, Burnout pushed only harder. By the time of his capture, Burnout had nearly approached a mental breakdown. For years he had led and continuously saved his fellow Vehicons. The most dedicated and valiant soldier among them, he was nevertheless hated and isolated by those around him. His actions went unnoticed. Burnout had no friends among the Vehicons, and no companionship. His loyalty and dedication has been rewarded with disdain.
Burnout found little time for any hobbies.
Following Burnout’s capture and release, the Burnout personality has disappeared. Whether destroyed or submerged, it is not yet known. Perhaps the Burnout identity was all along a program, simply strapped to a spark by Megatron. Now a separate personality rules the spark that led the Vehicons for so long. That identity is known as Strylex. The similarities between Burnout and Strylex are few. Both are highly intelligent and dedicated to their work. Both are efficient soldiers, however, they share little else.
Strylex is first and foremost a doctor. The job consumes his life and mind. Strylex also seems to possess little of the military sense that Burnout displayed in spades. Strylex is an accomplished physician, proficient in several fields. He operates as both a field medic and as a general practioneer. His greatest skills are put to use as a surgeon. Strylex disdains CR Chambers, viewing them as barbaric butcher machines. They possess none of the finesse of the surgeon. He believes that extended use will lead to structure degradation and eventually death. In addition to his medical training, Strylex shows great proficiency in biology, chemistry, and medical technology. His occupation has lead to increased endurance as well. It is unknown where Strylex received his medical knowledge. A physician’s skills and knowledge is to great to be simply downloaded, it must be learned and refined over time. Medicine is an art. Obviously these skills were within Burnout all the time, though never revealed. It is not known whether Burnout was aware of these skills.
In addition to medical knowledge, Strylex is an expect in obscure science. While medicine is his occupation, metascience and the paranormal is his hobby. He studies them relentlessly in his free time, hoping that they will one day come of great service to himself and the Vehicons.
Strylex has a professional air about him. He takes great pride in his bedside manner and is much warmer and friendlier than Burnout ever was. Despite this, he often has a bit of an elitist attitude that sometimes comes through. He takes his work very seriously and sees himself as an indispensable member of the team. Strylex believes his profession to be the greatest of any.
History: Burnout was among the first Vehicons created by Lord Megatron. He was Megatron’s choice to lead the Vehicons, and did so for a great time until he was finally lost to the Vehicons after being captured by enemies. In his original form he opposed the formation of the Brotherhood of Steel and fought against the Maximals in several battles. A great suspicion arose among his comrades when it was discovered that he alone was able to access the Oracle super-computer that lead the Maximals in their quest to reformat Cybertron. At the epicenter of the Apocalypse Storm his body was destroyed and Burnout was believed dead. His spark however survived and was able to procure a new Neo-Metal form on Cybertron during the storm before returning to lead the Vehicons in the termination of the Oracle.
After the Apocalypse Storm, Burnout rescued Megatron and returned him to power while still fighting Maximals and Vehicon separatists. During Unicron’s attack on Cybertron, Burnout aided in destroying the dark being’s body but shared blame for allowing the planet’s destruction. He battled the Decepticons and was present at Galvatron’s death and the defeat of the Decepticon forces. Following this Burnout lead the Vehicons once again against the Maximals until he was captured by rogue Vehicons and seemingly lost forever.
