God Bless America

This is where I spout my propoganda about the war with Iraq. The U.S. is currently engaged in military action against the Iraqi government in an effort to remove Sadaam Houssein.

Well, here's my opinion...

I am no war monger, nor am I in favor of the needless death of innocent people. But we are engaged in war, and, in my opinion, a necissary war. This war protects the United States against a foe (whether people want to admit it or not).

Our president was faced with a difficult decision, a difficult decision indeed. And he made the decision. We elect him with the understanding that HE is the commander-in-chief of the United States military. It's his job.

I say to those who lead protests and marches against this war: SHAME ON YOU! In my opinion, you are not fit to call yourselves Americans and your eyes are not fit to look upon our great flag. To the celebrities who go overseas and bash our president, calling him a baby killer. I suggest you go to a gunnery sergeant in the Marine Corp and call him one. Tell him that it's your right to say whatever you want and bash on YOUR OWN COUNTRY!!!

I recieved this e-mail, which I think gives everyone something to think about...

I want you to close your eyes and picture in your mind the soldier at Valley Forge, as he holds his musket in his bloody hands.
He stands barefoot in the snow, starved from lack of food, wounded from months of battle and emotionally scarred from the eternity away from his family surrounded by nothing but death and carnage of war.
He stands tough, with fire in his eyes and victory on his breath. He looks at us now in anger and disgust and tells us this...
"I gave you a birthright of freedom born in the Constitution and now your children graduate too illiterate to read it. I fought in the snow barefoot to give you the freedom to vote and you stay at home because it rains.
I left my family destitute to give you the freedom of speech and you remain silent on critical issues, because it might be bad for business."
It's the soldier not the reporter who gives you the freedom of the press.
It's the soldier not the poet who gives you the freedom of speech.
It's the soldier not the campus organizer who allows you to demonstrate.
It's the soldier who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin is draped with the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag!!!

To all those who demonstrate against the United States, participating in protests and burning flags: You make me physically ill. I, for one, believe that your citizenship should be revoked and you should be put on trial for treason. But you have the right to do those things. You need to remember when criticizing military that it was the military who gave you every right you now possess. God Bless America, land of the free, home of the brave. I know that I will always adhere to my patriotism and respect for this country. Maybe you should do the same.

I encourage all of you who agree with me to e-mail me, and your name and/or avatar will be placed on this site. Please, also, bring forth your own insight to this matter and I will see that it gets put here. Please leave your prayers with our soldiers overseas and wish them the best. If you see a soldier around, please, go up to him or her and shake their hand, thanking them for their service to this country.
