On a decent spring evening on March 26, 1977, Derek Collins and Judy Glaus-Collins gave birth to Jonathan Daniel Collins. Upon birth, however, Judy died because of complications...something Jonathan still carries with him. Not long after though, when Jonathan was 2, Derek married Krystal Lynn, and they brought in Jonathan's half brother, Robbie. Eventually Jonathan grew up, after leading a very typical childhood. He had one close friend besides Robbie, and that was Serena Adonis. He spent his summers with her, Robbie, and his cousins Corey and Prudence. They were a very inseperable group, and sometimes this wasn't for their own good, as it lead to many fights.
Finally, financial opportunity brought Corey and Prudence to Southern California permanantly, and this provided much more trouble. After Jonathan and Serena had come to terms with the fact that their friendship was something more, Pru's love for Serena, and her love for him had ruined that chapter of his life. Considering Prudence his best friend, he decided to hide his pain. This, of course, was taken away by the arrival of a new girl in his life in the summer before his senior year. Ashlee Reeves.
Ashlee, Serena, Pru, Corey, Robbie, and Jonathan became a stronger group, even more so when Robbie and Corey recieved contracts to wrestle in a new promotion: Orange County Wrestling. Eventually Jonathan and Pru were signed, and the four used Ashlee and Serena as valets. The brothers then paired off and gave spectacular matches against each other. As the senior year began, a shocker occured. Ashlee dumped Jonathan for Prudence. This devastated Collins, and once again, he turned to Serena. Both of them left alienated by the special person in their life, they questioned the nature of their friendship/relationship. Of course, this also ruined the friendship Ashlee and Serena had. By the end of it, Jonathan confessed his true feelings for Ashlee, which hurt Serena, shocked Ashlee, and angered Prudence, leading to a falling out that has yet to be repaired.
Jonathan took a trip during Spring Break of his senior year to visit Canada. More specific, Calgary. Robbie and Jon met a famous Canadian wrestler which began to tutor them, and also honed Jonathan's skills, making him a better scientific wrestler. Collins' skills grew in leaps and bounds, and because of his trainer's connections, he was offered a developmental deal with a major promotion. He signed up, and he and Ashlee said goodbye to California for Georgia. Robbie had decided to train in Japan, while Prudence and Corey went back to New York. During this time, Jonathan was paired with Owen Jones (AKA Bad MoFo), and the two of them became The All-Americans. Eventually, the promotion decided that their development would take them to Japan. Jones didn't agree with it, and was released. For the second time in a year, Collins and Reeves were forced to move and start their lives.
Japan was a good chapter in their life together, as upon arrival, Collins asked her to marry him, and the answer, as we all know, was yes. Jonathan also became accustomed to another new thing...a stage name. All his life, he had been Jonathan Collins. Now he was Jonathan Storm. He had become a very popular figure during this time. He also had gotten a release from his developmental deal. However, the promotion in Japan decided to keep him aboard, and he became a very successful champion, even winning the tag titles with his mentor. During this time, he also became associated with a wrestler who was instrumental in his arrival in the states...Matt Hoffman. The two became fast friends, and in October of 1999, Jonathan Collins, now known as Jonathan "The Thrill" Storm went state side.
Jonathan had immediate success. Playing a club-hopping Gen-Xer, Storm suprised everyone, incorporating a wicked Asai Moonsault neckbreaker as his finisher. Signed to the FWA, he left the promotion undefeated, for the fledgling NxWO. He garnered his most success there, capturing the top two singles titles, along with being one half of the first ever tag team champions. This caught the eye of promoter Steve Meyers, who brought Jon to his CWF promotion. He also experienced a great deal of success there, and eventually arrived in his cousin Corey's promotion...the NYSWF.
That didn't fare well for him, because of thoughts of nepotism. To hide the relation to Corey and Pru, he changed his last name behind the scenes to Glaus. This was hidden for quite sometime, until Pru had revealed that Storm was his cousin. When that happened, Storm embraced his family ties, and now became the man we know him as.
Of course they only thought they were cousins. In early 2001, their parents revealed to Prudence, Corey, and Jon that they were in fact, brothers. This ignited a war, culminating in NOTHING and Jonathan to meet in "The OCW Deathmatch". Storm won this battle, and it has effectively closed the chapter on their war. Jonathan managed to put the past behind him, and continue onto other things, most notably in his career a record setting NYSWF Lightweight Title reign (114 days), and defeating Prudence once more for the NYSWF Television Title. Jonathan's life dramatically changed when Prudence, Alexander Haven, Lunatikk Crippler, Michael Draven, Shawn Hunter, and Jonathan's childhood friend (and Pru's wife) Serena Adonis, attacked Jonathan and effectively shut the door on his career. As Jonathan was released from the hospital, he pondered..."What's next?".
When he finds out, I'm sure you will too.
