FF1 Bosses

-This a guide for the 9 main bosses in the game. It'll provide the amount of HP the boss has, the amount of EXP and G that you'll receive, and a short guide on how to easily defeat each boss.

-Note: The EXP numbers are a total number. Assuming that each of your characters live, each one would get one fourth of that number.

Garland
HP: 106
EXP: 130
Money: 250G
Weakness: None
Suggested Lvl: 3
Garland shouldn't be that hard. Make sure your party is at at least level 3. Your fighter(s) should be enough to get you past this battle singlehandedly. Have your mages use FIR and or LIT. Use your white mage for healing and make sure you heal before entering the battle.

Astos
HP: 168
EXP: 2250
Money: 2000G
Weakness: None
Suggested Lvl: 9-10
Astos is more difficult than Garland, but he's still not that hard. He always uses RUB at the beginning of the battle that will instantly eliminate one of your characters. Use your stronger magic spells and try to kill him before he can use RUB again.

Vampire
HP: 156
EXP: 1200
Money: 2000G
Weakness: FIRE, HARM
Suggested Lvl: 12
The vampire is an easy battle if you consider the fact that he is undead. Therefore, use HRM3 or FIR3 against him and he won't stand a chance. Watch for his DAZZLE move that paralyzes a character. If for some reason your mage gets hit with DAZZLE you still should be alright. He doesn't have that much HP and DAZZLE wears off after a few turns.

Lich
HP: 400
EXP: 2200
Money: 3000G
Weakness: FIRE, HARM
Suggested Lvl: 14
Lich, the fiend of earth, is the first fiend fight in the game. Lich is undead as well so use HRM3 and FIR3 against him. Watch for LIT2-FIR2-ICE2 which can hit all of your party members at once. Make sure that your white/red mage doesn't attack with HRM too much, so that your characters don't run out of HP. Try to save your magic through the Earth Cave so you can save it for this battle. Use HEAL potions instead of magic before the fight and save heavy hitting spells such as HRM3 and FIR3 for Lich.

Kary
HP: 600
EXP: 2475
Money: 3000G
Weakness: STUN, SLEP
Suggested Lvl: 17
Kary, fiend of fire, is a fairly strong foe. Start the battle by using FAST on any fighters you have. You might also want to cast AFIR to protect you from fire moves. Other than that, magic moves don't work that well. You may think that ICE magic would work better than FIRE and LIT but actually all three do the same.

Kraken
HP: 800
EXP: 4245
Money: 5000G
Weakness: LIT
Suggested Lvl: 18
Kraken, fiend of water, is one of the easiest bosses in the game. He has a big weakness to LIT so exploit it. Even though you probably won't even need to, your fighters should be plenty to take down this weak foe. Have your mages cast ALIT if necessary to lighten the blow of Kraken's LIT2 attack. If you can't beat Kraken you might want to consider leveling up a lot, things are going to get a lot harder.

Warmech
HP: 1000
EXP: 32000
Money: 32000G
Weakness: None
Suggested Lvl: 27-30
Marmech is one of the (if not the) hardest fights in the entire game. You have a slim chance of fighting him when crossing the bridge to Tiamat in the Sky Castle. If you do fight him say a prayer, his NUCLEAR attack (which he uses quite often) takes away an enormous amount of power to all of your party. Use your white mage exclusively for healing and give him all you've got. Use FAST on your fighters right away before your mage dies. You shouldn't have many problems if you're in at least level 30 but chances are you aren't at this point of the game. Come back to fight Warmech later in the game, you earn a ton of experience and gold from this fight.

Tiamat
HP: 1100
EXP:5496
Money: 6000G
Weakness: BANE, BRAK
Suggested Lvl: 24
Tiamat, fiend of air is one of the more difficult battles in the game. Just do the same basic things you've been doing to get to this point. Have your white mage heal you, use your best spells, casting FAST, ALIT/AICE/AFIRE, INV2 if necessary, and have your fighters hack away. If you have a master they will have become incredibely strong by now. Note: Tiamat has a huge weakness to Bane. If you happen to have the Bane sword or spell it can kill Tiamat in one hit. BANE does miss quite often though so you will likely have to cast it a few times.

Chaos
HP: 2000
EXP: N/A
Money: N/A
Weakness: None
Suggested Lvl: 30
The final boss in the game is Chaos. Almost no magic works good against Chaos and Chaos can do just about whatever magic he so chooses. Including CUR4 that can fully restore his HP. Start the battle by casting FAST and INV2 on the necessary characters. These spells are especially helpful in this battle because it can often go on for a long time, Chaos has 2000 HP. The key to beating Chaos is being in a high level. Just make sure that you keep yourself healed and keep on hacking away. The fight might take awhile, but keep at it, and Chaos will eventually go down.
