OVERVIEW: In Mysidia place the white mask on the goddess statue and then head to the black mask cave to get the black mask.
I. Mysidia
-Dock your boat here, Mysidia is due east. If you're unsure where Mysidia is check my world map. Also, if you haven't been to Mysidia yet you'll want to do some serious shopping. If you were at Mysidia before and ran out of money now is an excellent time to buy everything that you couldn't before.
| |
-The mages of Mysidia will provide you with a lot of information. This mage refers to the seal protecting Mysidia Tower. Mysidia Tower contains Ultima, the spell you're after.
-The three items are: the white mask, the black mask, and a crystal rod. You have the white mask, so what next?
| |
-First you'll need to put the white mask on the goddess statue to allow you to get the crystal rod. The stairs to the statue are at the bottom of the town.
-Simply place the white mask on the statue. After this you now need to head after the black mask, but, where is it?
| |
-This mage has the answer, it's on a small island in the sea. You may have seen this island before, if not it's easy to find. Heal at the inn and make sure that you bought everything at Mysidia that you can. The black mask cave isn't too difficult but it is a long dungeon.
-The cave is southeast of Mysidia. Check your map, see the small island in the middle of the ocean, that's the island you're looking for.
| |
-This is it, make sure that you're ready to go, save, and then head in. The only enemies that are worth worrying about are the mallows and jellys. Use fire and ice on the jellys and bolt on the mallows.

II. Basement 1
-There are several items on basement 1 for the taking. Some of them aren't worth getting and some are, it's really up to you. Heading straight south from the entrance you can pick up an EyeDrop.
| |
-Definetely pick up this Ether, it's a little west of the EyeDrop. You should also get the two XPotions on this floor. They're both north of the Ether and EyeDrop
-Heading west you'll eventually come to this fork in the road. South will take you to a Thread (Slow9 on all enemies). North will take you to the stairs that lead to the next floor.
| |
III. B2 and a Village
-This is the beginning of basement 2, head north from the stairs.
-Grab this Valium (Slep16 on all enemies) and then you have a decision to make. The stairs next to the Valium treasure lead to a Black Mask Village. However, this is an optional and very pointless trip. Unless you want to see the village there is really no other point to going there. The only treasure that you will get on your way is a Thread.
| |
-If you do head down, the path will lead you down to B3 where you can pick up another Thread.
-This is B4 now, take this path to reach the village.
| |
-And, you're here! There's only two different things that all of these guys say, this is one of them.
-This is the other, they refer obviously to the black mask that you're after.
| |
-There is a shop down here though, although all the stuff that is sold is crap (the Ogre axe is far superior to the Demon axe). This is a good opportunity to sell all of your unneccessary items, there are a lot of items to pick up in this cave coming up. After this backtrack all the way to B2 where we started.
-Now that we're back continue east again, there you'll find an Aero spell, continue on the path again. Aero causes wind damage but in reality it's a fairly pointless spell to have. It won't do nearly the damage that a Fire, Ice, or Bolt spell will so it's not worth the time and effort of leveling it up.
| |
-Continuing on the path you can pick up another Aero spell and two Blind spells (Check my map if you need to). Blind is an incredibly pointless spell, it rarely works and even if it does it doesn't help a whole lot, sell it. Eventually you will come to these stairs that lead to B3.
IV. B3 to B4
-From these stairs head north (south leads to a Garlic that sells for 50 gil and does minimal damage when used in battle).
| |
-The path is straightforward and will lead you to these stairs that go down to B4.
-B4 is very confusing. There are four stairways (not counting the one used to get here) that all lead to different things. If you just want to get out of this dungeon then head straight to the northeast corner and take those stairs down to the final floor. Otherwise, there's a little more treasure worth getting.
| |
V. Treasure Trips
-Heading south the first set of stairs you'll see is this one leading back up. Take it if you want a FenixDn. The FenixDn is guarded by a pack of pretty easy undead creatures (use fire against them).
-Next is the stairs in the southeast corner of B4. This will lead you on a long winding path. First up to B3 then back to B4 then down again to B5 here. | |
-The treasures contain 2 Valiums (Slep16 on all enemies) and a EarthDrm (Earth damage to all enemies), hardly worth the trip. The EarthDrm is guarded by a G.Toad and Tusks. Retrace your steps all the way back to B4.
-Back on B4 the two remaining stairs are on the northern half of the floor. There's also a chest containing 1000 gil up here.
| |
-The northwestern stairs lead to this DeathGod (Fear10 on all enemies). After this take the northeastern stairs at last which lead to the final floor.
VI. The Black Mask
-At the start of B5 there's a Sleep spell. Sleep is another useless spell, sell it later on. For now head southwest.
| |
-This door leads to the black mask at last.
-There is a guardian of the black mask but don't worry, he's no problem.

-BigHorn is a joke. He only has 1140 HP and will do little to no damage against you. Simply kill him off with physical attacks.
-Grab the black mask. The teleporter behind the treasure chest will lead you back outside of the cave. Head outside and then return to Mysidia. You've got two of the three items to break the seal, it's time to get the third.
