The Association of Rhydin Guilds Healers
Mandate allows for healers and priests to conduct wedding ceremonies.
Healers conduct these ceremonies when a priest, shaman, or other religious
leader is not available or not desired.
Not everyone is comfortable conducting a wedding, so if you are asked to
provide this service and feel you are not up to the task, there is no shame
in politely turning down the request. The bride and groom are normally
grateful for your honesty and will seek another qualified individual so that
their wedding day goes off without much difficulty.
Conducting the ceremony is no easy task. You must obtain certain
information before you may conduct the ceremony. This information
includes :
-
Names of Bride and Groom
-
Names of Witnesses
-
Whom will give the Bride away
-
Will rings be exchanged during the ceremony
-
Where and when the ceremony will be conducted
-
Is it a tradition single couple wedding or is it a multiple partner wedding
-
Type of ceremony desired
-
Will the bride and groom be writing their own vows
This information is important whether the ceremony is planned in advance
or if it is spur of the moment. In the case where multiple partners
marriage is being conducted, please be sure to inform the parties that should
one party wish to end the marriage, the remaining members of the marriage
are STILL married according to the wedding section of the Rhydin Code of
Conduct.
Once you have obtained the information necessary, draw up an outline
of what to do during the ceremony and present it to the bride and groom a
few days before the wedding. This way changes and additions can be
made ahead of time.
There are literally thousands of ceremonies and vows available. Below
you will find just a sampling of what is available. You will find a
short description of the type and the portal in which to download the actual
ceremony or vows. Don't forget to visit our Records pages to register
the wedding on our Healers Message boards. Posted weddings will recieve
a commerative souvenior for the newlyweds and also allows us to track how
many weddings you have conducted.
