The history of StarStones' Herder Hall begins in the area of Telgar. Just outside of Telgar Hold, situated near to Jowl's farm, the Herders help a small crafthall with Master Kiata as their crafthead. It was just a small, startup hall set in a rather boxy stone building.
Turns passed and eventually Herder Lissabet, a long-time member of the Hall took over crafthead responsibilities. In the midst of her leadership, an event occured that would quite literally change the landscape. A meteorite struck the Telgar area, thoroughly demolishing the Hold and cracking open the walls of the Herder Hall.
A tough decision had to be made; to remain at a holdless land and fix their wounded hall or to move on to Crom, where the leadership there was eager to take the Herders. Finally, the decision was made and the Herders packed up and escorted their herds to Crom Hold. A new hall was built up onto the stables.
Unfortunatly, Lissabet had to step down as crafthead hardly a couple of turns later. Elorie was brought in next, having not been brought up with this herder hall. During her time as the crafthead, a new racetrack and jumping course were created by some enterprizing journeymen. Two and a half turns after having become the crafthead, Elorie was required to make a trip concerning a family matter, leaving Triani, who originally apprenticed in this local hall in Telgar, in charge. Months passed, then a turn, and then it was discovered that Elorie had died, leaving Triani as the new crafthead.
During the ten turns when Triani was the head, a Herder Tour was begun. Every two turns the local herders would gather together animals and herds and tour about an area of the central northern continent selling animals, ending at Katz Field for the annual runner races. At the death of her husband, Triani moved to take a position as a WeyrHerder, which then moved Somina, another local herder, into the position of crafthead.
In an effort to bring the Cromite hall more under the influence of the main herder hall, the MasterHerder sent hsi daughter of Master Rank, Deonica, to keep an eye on things at the hall.
