But please learn from the history of Amber (some little of which I know) and remember that not all who begin a conspiracy finish it. I know that you and the Lord Chetwin and Lady Arwen suspect Lord Bastion in the death of Prince Bleys. I... cannot deny this. I am afraid I do not know everything he has done; he speaks to me rarely of his tasks. Yet I know he is not behind the recent attacks on Lord Chetwin - he has often spoke of his great reluctance to harm his immediate family. I assume he means Princess Flora, Lord Chetwin, and Lady Remora. Despite numerous attempts, Lady Meara has not managed to break down this resistance; I am glad of this, for I would not see him further damned in the eyes of Amber. I am afraid I cannot give you a means to contact me, for I fear you would use my Trump as a means to destroy the House before you have sufficient power. Any messages you might leave me run the risk of exposing my position and losing you a potential ally in the destruction of Lady Meara and her henchmen in the House.
