Pet of Prince Adam. EQUIPMENT: Armor-EX20 HISTORY: Prince Adam's (he-man's) pet. When Adam transforms into he-man, Cringer turns into battlecat, no matter where their relative positions may be. While Cringer is not in his Battle Cat form, he is -3CS in all of his physical FEATs and has an IN fear of anything potentially dangerous.
Cringer wasn't always Battlecat. When Prince Adam was a boy, he was out in the Hills of Eternia practicing his animal calls, when he heard an animal crying out. Adam went to see what it was, and saw that a bigger creature was about to close in on another animal. Adam used the call of another animal to scare off this bigger animal. Adam went to see what was still crying out and he found a baby tiger behind a bush. Adam saw that he was hurt and immediately took him back to the palace for Man-At-Arms to look at.Man-At-Arms told him that he would do his best, but it didn't look good for the baby tiger. Fortunately, the baby tiger lived, and Adam grew to love him. The baby tiger stuck to Adam like glue. Wherever he went, the tiger went with him. The only problem was that the tiger was afraid of everything. One day a group of kids were near Adam. One of them decided to scare Adam's tiger by saying "Boo!". The tiger ran up Adam's shirt and and Teela called Adam's cat a Cringer. The kids started saying "Cringer! Cringer!" in a teasing manner. Adam told them that he didn't care, because he still liked him. Adam decided to name his tiger Cringer. The Sorceress of Grayskull contacted Adam and told him not to be impatient with his pet. Adam told her that he embarrassed him sometimes. The Sorceress told Adam that Cringer would very important to him in the future.
Adam grew up and so did Cringer. Adam never figured out what she meant. Prince Adam had gained the powers of He-man now. Whenever he wanted to change, he had to get rid of Cringer so that he could do so. Adam didn't know that his powers could transform him, as well as his tiger, into powerful heroes. One day when an archaeological party discovered something strange in the Tickon Jungle. Man-At-Arms, Adam, and Teela decided to go and explore the jungle for clues on Eternia's past. No one had said anything about Cringer coming along, but he had his own ideas. Cringer hide in a flying machine carrying expedition equipment.
Man-At-Arms discovered temples and one had a small crack in the door. Man-At-Arms had the archaeological team use their tools to open the door. The Gedge had been freed from his sealed prison. The Gedge started attacking everyone in site. Adam ran off into a clearing, not knowing Cringer was right behind him. As Adam changed into He-Man, the tiger saw the transformation. Cringer then cried out for his master. He-Man said "Easy Cringer. It's me, Adam." He-man pointed his sword at Cringer and the power from the sword changed Cringer into Battlecat for the very first time.
Battlecat went on to fight The Gedge with He-Man and they managed to seal it back in the temple from whence it came. He-Man realised he had gained a valuable ally in a lifelong friend and is hardly never seen without his fierce, yet compassionate, Cat by his side.
