A Tunnels and Trolls® play-by-post adventure run by khara_khang
"[Manticores have] a lion's body, scorpion's tail and a human face which houses three rows of shark-like teeth." --Monsters! Monsters!
This Manticore also has wings....
Scorpion Tail: does 1d+6 if at least three points of damage are scored while using tail. The target is poisoned and suffers 1d a round in addition to other attacks. All damage done by poison ignores armor.
Elf Friend: allowed to pass freely in any Elf/Centaur/Fairy lands
He speaks all the higher languages except Wizard speach at least fluently enough to curse someone and ask where the john is. He speaks Dwarfish, Dragon, Elven, Feline, Orcish, and Common fluently as well as some of the lower languages (equine, Saurian, and Serpentine) with a spattering of knowledge.
None.
Fuzz once was an Elf but during one adventure, an evil wizard started to transform him into a Manticore to have as a pet. However one of his party members hit the wizard hard with a large axe and the transformation ended incomplete. He was named Galdor as an Elf but when he was transformed, his friends started calling him Fuzz and the name just stuck. Since the transformation he has become a good deal stronger and incredably lonely (who wants to talk to a half-elf half-manticore).
After his transformation, he did alot of wandering, during which he came across a Gold Dragon named Kellizial who was being attacked by a bunch of trolls. Kellizial was holding his own but it was apperant to Fuzz that he would eventually lose, so Fuzz jumped in the fray and managed to kill a few trolls before they noticed him. When the Trolls were distracted by the rampaging ball of fur, Kellizial managed to kill off several, thus giving him and Fuzz the upper hand.
They eventually won and in gratitude, Kellizial let Fuzz take anything he wanted from his treasure horde. Fuzz took the mithril scimitar and mithril kukri and an extra-heavy longbow. Seeing that Fuzz didn't take any armor, Kellizial asked him why not and Fuzz said he preferred lightweight stuff over the plate mail, so the Dragon gave him enough of his scales to make a full suit of armor and showed him how to do it.
Fuzz carries enough scales to repair what he does wear and decided not to make a full suit because if it were ever damaged, he wouldn't have any way to repair it; he just made what he thought he would need. He also learned lockpicking in his copious free time and has picked up bits and pieces of all sorts of other skills like puzzles, first aid for most magical and non magical creatures, impromptu repair for just about anything important, and languages.
He is looked upon with pity by Elves and as someone who should be welcomed and treated well so that he might live out his remaining miserable years nicely. Fuzz recognizes this false kindness and leaves if anyone starts to show it to him because he really doesn't like it. He wanders dungeons alone cause he has no other place to go and although he will fight if that's what you want. He prefers to talk with people cabable of carrying on an intelligent conversation and is more than capable of holding his own on a variety of debate topics. If he doesn't think he can get an interesting conversation going with a party, he will just leave.
His overall appearance is that of a manticore but he has a few differences: he walks on two feet instead of four and has fully dexterous hands.
