   I have enjoyed many shows dealing with comedy, romance, and mechs. In fact, on the surface, it seems unoriginal: Earth versus aliens and love triangles in the background? Been done for twenty years now. But alone among the many anime I have seen, Mobile Battleship Nadesico touches me on a deeply personal level. It is the purest conception of geek fantasy I've seen; I am unashamed to say that to kick ass with the Gekigan-Flare, sail home to the accolades of my comrades, and kiss the cute girl is close to what my conception of what heaven is like.Here is the ever so likable castThe charming cast seemed so unispired at first and I watched in disbelief that they would ever hook me, boy was I wrong. From Ruri and Megumi and Gort, to Ryoko, all of these wondrous misfits. Akito kisses Megumi and my heart melts, Joe say goodbye to Nanako, and my heart breaks. Ruri proclaims the entire human race is a pack of brain-dead morons. Forgive me for the lack of intelligent reviewing here but shit this damn anime is best watched with your friends, kicked back with some pizza.Love scenes like this when Yurika gets jealous that Akito takes Megumi instead are a big part of the expirience The feelings are magnified when there is a group immersed in the world of Nedesico; if you have any soul at all you will jump on your chair and cheer too. Nadesico, though kinda confusing at times is great entertainment, with a core of mecha action and a most certainely likable cast, pick this up now.Rating=9.0
Pros=The cast is colorful and makes watching not a chore, the love relationships all over make this like some cool soap opera.
Cons=This show is not original, and the pacing is often confusing, and unbearable at moments.
