High Elven Special Racial Rules
High Elves are the most commonly found of the Elven races in The Realms. They range in height between 5 and 6 1/2 feet tall, with a trimer, more slender build. They tend towards fairer colors of hair, eyes, and skin, and often wear greens and browns. Most High Elves keep their hair long, but well groomed.
High Elves have the following abilities:
- -1 Strength, +1 Dexterity, -1 Constitution, +1 Intelligence, +1 Charisma, -1 Luck. High Elves are known for their grace and fair looks, and due to their long lives, tend towards intellectual persuits. However, the suffer in physical strength and hardiness. High Elves lead slower and more careful lives, and thus do not rely on fate or chance as much as the other races.
- High Elves are able to see better and further in poor lighting than most other races. They start with the Low-light Vision trait.
- High Elves live extended lifetimes compared to others, and once they die, they cannot be brought back from death. Thus, they tend to be more cautious, and enjoy their one shot at life. They start with the Free Soul trait.
- Due to their free spirited nature, High Elves are resilliant to any magical forms of paralysis or compulsion, including both poisons and mental domination. They start with both the Resistance vs. Paralysis trait and the Resistance vs. Charm trait.
- High Elves take life slowly, and are very careful with where and how they tread. While slow to forget, they are also slow to pick up new concepts and ideas. They start with the Slow Learner trait at a level of 3
- High Elves are studious, and have had many long lifetimes to practice arcane crafts. They begin with the Magicaly Adept trait.
- Though not physically capible compared to the other races, High Elves make up for it by training each of their kin in the use of certian military weapons. They begin with either the Combat School: Long Sword or Combat School: Long Bow trait.
- High Elves are very long lived, some rumored to be a millenia old. Most live to be at least 300 though. They begin with the Longevity trait at a minimum level of 15
- High Elves are more adept at subtle magics, such as those they are resistant to, and shun the darker arts. After all skills are chosen, High Elves recieve a +1 bonus to the Enchantment skill, and a -1 penalty to the Necromancy skill.
