C. Fahren

Fahren is the Cryo's resident flame master. However, he is NOT a pyromaniac. He has lost friends and acquaintances to fire before, and actually used to have a phobia. Fahren decided to conquer fear of flame by becoming able to control it. He lobbied hard and long to get into the Cryos, even considering his civilian status (albeit with connections). He was finally able to sneak into the selection process. It soon became obvious that he was not selected to be a Cryo, but his petitions and his apparent skill had hit paydirt, and they allowed him temporary Cryo status. A status that became permanent after the torching of a major international crime lord and said crime lord's safe capture.

Fahren is, at heart, a nice guy with a big temper. A lot has happened to him, especially from superhumans. Fahren avoids using his powers or weapons on innocents, even enemy soldiers. Against those enemies, he uses Fear of Fire, Rain of Hope, and other moves to inflict non-lethal stunning damage. Fahren reserves his other more brutal moves for fights against superhumans, particularly evil ones. Several evil superhumans have made the fatal or near-fatal mistake of assuming Fahren's mercy would extend to them.

Level:

65; one of the most talented but inexperienced of the Cryos.

How to Get Him:

Fahren has a rather unique personal crusade. If the FinalBattle team appears to be good at taking out evil superhumans, Fahren will consider assisting them. Further, if they learn the ultimate Fire spell Meganuke, Fahren will desire it and may want to join their team as a trade in exchange for the spell.

Abilities:

Absorb Fire: Fahren can, through physical contact or breath, absorb fire into his fists, feet, mouth, etc. Fahren can then eliminate this fire through energy blasts or fiery punches.

Control Fire: Fahren has used Aspects quite judiciously, spending 200 P.P.E. (which he got through hard work and through bonding to a ley line) into the power of Control Fire. Thus, Fahren has the equivalent to the following Rifts abilities: Burster, Alter Physical Structure: Fire, my spell Control Fire, and Control Elemental Force: Fire. In addition, he can sacrifice half of his HP and a Sunwrath grenade to use Alter Physical Structure: Plasma.

Fire Fear: Fahren has learned to be able to project his phobia of fire outwards. His eyes begin glowing with a hidden flame, and any who he manages to catch within his gaze (and who fail the saving throw) see themselves and all their friends consumed in merciless hellfire. Fahren only uses this move when angered (he can get quite a temper) or when he feels it absolutely necessary; it is a horrifying tactic.

Fire's Hatred: This is the reverse of Mercy of Fire and essentially a curse. All of Fahren's fire attacks and all natural fire will attract to the character hit by this like a magnet. Fire attacks launched by that character have a much higher chance of failing or backfiring on the character, and his allies will have to work hard to make sure he doesn't get hit by their fire attacks.

Mercy of Fire: Whoever has received this blessing from Fahren will never get hit by his own flame attacks or natural fire, and will be much harder to hit or hurt from magical/paranormal fire. This excess fire that will refuse to harm the person must go somewhere, however. Thus, Fahren will use his Fire's Hatred or Absorb Fire to eliminate the excess.

Purging Fire: This massive wave of fire costs much MP, but it cremates corpses Fahren wants to cremate with a holy, forgiving flame (this can function like

Rain of Hope: In order to stop fires and to boost morale, Fahren can summon a torrential rain. This downpour will put out fires 3 times faster than usual, give all of his companions morale and hope and allowing them to bathe their wounds in fresh water, and acts as a holy weapon against the undead. Enemies of Fahren get pushed back by the incredible force of the rain.

Equipment:

Sunwrath Grenades: These are highly experimental grenades, and very dangerous. The grenades teleport in a tiny, microscopic bit of the sun. Without the incredible gravitational force of the sun, this little bit will explode. The force is so incredible that Fahren will only use it to destroy mass objects or powerful superhumans.

Magic:

Fahren is a Pyromancer, combining some spells and abilities from conventional magic

Fire 1: Fahren learned this quickly, but he uses it often due to his lack of need for incredible force.

Fire 2: Fahren also learned this quickly. This is a moderate damage spell.

Fire 3: Fahren learned this only very recently.
