You've finally reached the mountain that leads to the Ranger's
Wings. You need to check on them to make sure that no one has
stolen stuff from them, and, hopefully, to get a ride. But when
you reach the mountain, there's a Save Point and a strange
figure. Go talk to the strange figure. He turns around and shows
himself to be Magus, the great magician that challenged Lavos
himself. His dark power is incredible. Fred will notice that
Magus looks much like the sorceror that unleashed the Scorpios.
Magus says that he is indeed the sorceror, and that he summoned
the Scorpios to test the group in general and Fred in particular.
Next comes an important decision. Magus will then show Fred what
incredible power he can have. The first thing he asks is a moral
question: Would you submit to evil for power? Fred's natural
instinct is to say no. Magus will congratulate Fred. The next
question is the important one. He'll ask to fight Fred
one-on-one. Magus is Level 99 (actually, that's his raw stats,
but he hasn't be fighting much lately, so it's actually probably
around 70), so Fred had better at least be level 60+ or have lots
of things going for him. Such things include Materia, summons,
training, and items. You can choose to fight Magus with your
whole party, which will not be too hard. However, you lose the
chance to get Magus for quite some time. If you challenge Magus
with Fred alone, be prepared for a hard battle. Some advice: Get
Dark Mail to absorb Magus' dark attacks, which are his most
powerful. Magus is very intelligent and will attack in other
methods if he feels that you have figured out a counter. He has
the ability to teleport around, but Fred can match him. In
physical combat, Fred can beat Magus. However, Magus is far more
efficient in magic. He'll do the Barrier Change bit, but with
Fred, you can just redecide your elemental attack. However, even
with Dark Mail, Magus will find ways to hurt you with spells such
as Dark Matter, Black Hole and Dark Bomb. Heal up frequently. Use
Enemy Skills, especially MagiPunch, which does more damage to
magicians, MP-HP Strike, which does damage based on enemy's MP
total, MP Blow, which directly strikes MP, Magic Hammer, which,
depending on the version you got, subtracts 100 MP or halves MP,
and Osmose MP%, which drains percentages of the enemy's MP.
Casting Vanish and X-Zone will work, but only if you force Magus
to do a physical attack after you Vanish (like casting Vanish
when you're 5 feet away from him and he needs to throw a very
powerful Dark Bomb). Since you learned L.3 Flare from Orion, you
should use it liberally in this match. If you win, Magus will
join you. If you lose, Magus may do one of three things. He may
decide that you need to become more powerful before he joins, he
may decide to test another party member (usually Fred's friends)
right then and there, or he may decide to join anyway.
Once you've blown down the wall and reached the Ranger's Wings,
come in and rest and Save. Now go to the Security Room door and
bust it down. Inside you'll see a dark-skinned demon with a
mighty tail. Firebrand and him will come to blows. If you're
strong enough to beat Striker on your own (note: his level is 72,
so he is vulnerable to L. 3 Flare, L.2 Old and L. 4 Pearl). He is
vulnerable to fire is but is able to move quicker than Firebrand.
Cast Slow on him and Haste on Firebrand to counter this. If you
can kick his ass, you get Firebrand's ULB, Firebrand's Sword (an
ultimate weapon), and the Time Crest. Firebrand remembers when he
was the Ultimate Gargoyle. Now he realizes that in order to
become the Ultimate Gargoyle for real, he needed to study the
Crests.
Striker had activated the security system. Depending on how well
you did (i.e. how quickly you reached), most of the stuff should
be not stolen. The stolen stuff all is bugged, so you can chase
down the bandits. Until the time that you can jury rig some
repairs, you're going to have to wait. Fix up as much as you can.
Go and hire some movers from Wrecker and push the Ranger's Wings
into the sea. You can drive out to some places now, but if you
want to fix up the airships as soon as possible, go to the south
5 or 6 miles (a breeze considering the Ranger's Wings speed).
You'll land on the Solitary Island with the FF3 Cid. Go in and
talk to him. Lucky enough for you, Cid from FF2/4 and FF5, along
with Mid from FF5, are also there! Talk to them about repairing
your airship. They'll assess the damage and say that they can't
help you with the parts they have. However, they could help you
with some parts from the Empire. They ask what the ship is. When
you tell them that it's the Ranger's Wings, they're surprised.
You tell them your story, and they give you a map with the Empire
Base on it.
The Empire Base is very difficult. It has very powerful monsters,
and you can't escape when you go in. Furthermore, you need to go
through quite a bit of land before you can reach the base. Fight
on the Solitary Island to get Pearl Wind and Pearl Wind 2 from
the local monsters. You can now go and get some people. One
option that you have is to go to MD Earth and visit the US.
First, go to Calvin's House. It is marked by a little house
somewhere on the US Map (the US is pretty big, but luckily
enough, cities are plentiful and "monsters" are mostly
wimpy criminals). If you come in the day, you can meet Calvin.
Calvin is a big fan of Thrash and Badcat, and when you tell him
that you're friends, he'll go berserk. He'll show you his magic
abilities. Fred will get cocky and take him on. Unfortunately,
he'll get his ass kicked by Stupendous Man. Magus will then stop
the fight by casting Dark Matter. Calvin will ask you to talk to
his parents. Tell them your adventures and talk about what you're
doing. They'll agree to let Calvin help you (remember, they have
had to get used to the new world, like the US coming at blows
with the Empire). Now go to a small gas station in the Midwest.
Here, you'll see Convoy from Vigilante 8. He owns a trucking
business. Tell him of what has been happening and he'll join
immediately, bringing along Houston 3 and Sheila. Now go back to
the Ranger's Wings.
The next part of getting ready is to find the town of Slace in
the east. It is a town with very powerful weapons and magic to be
bought. Fight monsters in the cave beside the town until you can
buy all the spells, 10-20 of all the items, and weapons enough to
re-equip everyone. There are also some mercs in the town. You
just have to find them. One is named Shift. He is disguised as a
Power Tab in the corner of a Cafe. When you talk to him, he'll
shift back and talk business. He is very expensive, but he comes
at high levels and can turn into all monsters you have earned for
summoning. Butz from FF5 is also in the town somewhere. He is at
the Chocobo Stables or the Cafe every time. Talk to him about
your quest and he'll help. He comes with all the Jobs but NOT all
the Summons, nor Holy, Meteo and Flare. Now everyone has all
Jobs, but at level 0. Give them all different Jobs and raise them
all to high Job levels. And finally, you can get Shadow from FF3.
He also comes at high levels and at a relatively low cost. Now
you can raise some levels here.
Next, we suggest you re-earn the FF5 stuff. Go to the FF5 world
using the Ranger's Wings Map and the destination setter. Visit
the Pirate's Cave. Go to the place where you earn Syldra in FF5.
Fight Syldra (you could avoid it by talking to Faris first, but
don't; Syldra will raise you a level or so). You'll earn her for
Summon. Now go talk to Faris. Butz will convince her to join as
well. Now go out and get back in the ship. Now go to the Fork
Tower (it's reshaped elsewhere, on the mainland. You have a limit
of four people on each side, and magic cannot be used on the Holy
side, while you must have strong magicians on the Flare side.
Fred will work for either side. Firebrand is more of a strength
person. Magus is a magic person. Calvin can work for both sides.
Pick your strongest and brave the tower. Be low level Jobs until
you reach the top, then choose your best. Omniscient will Reset
the battle every time you hit him physically, so magic will have
to be the substitute. Minotauros will have to be attacked
physically. Beware Holy and Flare at the end of each battle.
You'll earn Holy and Flare and the tower will crumble. Now visit
the North Mountain. Some wimpy-ass monsters bar your way to FF5
Bahamut. At the cliff, though, the rope has been frayed so much
that only a certain amount of people can make it across by
walking. Let everyone who can fly and jump the way across do so,
then have your strongest people who can't go on the rope. Now
confront Bahamut. He is very powerful, and his attacks hit
everyone. Make use of your Lore skills and Holy. Heal frequently.
You should be able to confront him. Use Exit and both groups will
go out. Now use a Cabin. Move on to Castle Bal. Touch bases with
Cara, then go downstairs to fight Odin. He'll give you a minute
to finish him off. Cast Petrify and be ready to cast Reset if the
battle is not going peachy. Once you kick his ass, you'll earn
him as an Esper. Now go back up (heal yourself) and go to the
place where you would get the Third Tablet in FF5. Now there is a
tunnel downwards. The Dwarf Kingdom has blossomed and the path
leads directly to the FF2 Underworld! First, though, go to
the Tablet room and get ready to fight. The Meteo spell is in
there, but Tiamat interrupts you. Tiamat introduces himself as
another Avatar and gets around to the ass-kicking. The first
three spells he casts, All-Target, L. 5 Doom, and L.3 Flare, will
be a pain in the ass. Revive those killed and cast Holy with
everyone. That will hurt him. He'll then cast Big Guard, Trick
Wall and Shell. Now hit him with Bahamut Summon. He'll use Sword
Killer on 5 people and Doom Slash. Revive and use Osmose. He
should be out of MP. He'll now do breath attacks. Just hit him
hard and cast Holy off of Rflected characters. When you beat
Tiamat, he'll go back to the All-Monster Dimension. You now have
learned FF5 Meteo, along with Trick Wall and All-Target. Go back
to the Dwarven Kingdom and move out to the FF2 Underworld. Here
you can now get more stuff, including Leviathan, Bahamut and
Asura Summon. Do visit the Summoned Monsters town. Fight through
the levels; it shouldn't be too hard. When you reach the town, be
sure to buy Warp. Now you can revisit towns. Go and fight Titan.
Titan is strong, but if you have Float casted on everyone, his
first attack will do nothing, and then you can hit him very hard.
He'll then punch someone. Hit him with all you've got again and
again. Now go back and heal up. Fight Asura, being sure to have
Wall Rings on everyone. Cast Wall on her like in FF2 to reap the
benefits of her Cure 4. Cast Flare, Bahamut and Meteo off your
own Wall. Once you've defeated her (she shouldn't be too hard),
fight her husband. Leviathan is a different matter. Big Wave
hurts a damn lot. Cast Lit 3 off your Wall over and over again
until he relents the Big Wave. He'll then cast Water Shield. Now
cast Bahamut and Holy. Soon enough, you'll defeat him and get him
as a Summon monster. Go on to the Sylph cave. Fight through it
and fight the Sylphs. Use your best magic over and over again
until you get Sylph too. Now go back to the Dwarf Cave and go up
to your ship, then go to the cave where you get Leviathan in FF5.
Defeat Leviathan here too. Now you cast 2 Leviathans at once! You
can either choose the two combined or the two using their waves
to hit the poor guy inbetween.
Now there are two things to do for Fred and Firebrand. Visit the
Township in BOF 2 World. Talk to the Shamans. Each can bring out
different aspects to both, but the Old Woman activates the Dragon
aspect of Fred. He can turn into a hatchling dragon, but if you
feed his dragon with old weapons and items and fight with it, it
will slowly rise to Infinity Bahamut. Probably regular Bahamut
level is a good goal. The next thing to do is to go to the Demon
Realm and visit the cliff where Firebrand cast off the Crests.
Each one has become infested by a spirit. You have to fight the
Crests, except for the Time Crest. Cast Holy on all except the
Heaven Crest, cast Leviathan, Meteo and Bahamut, and cast Flare
on all except for the Fire Crest. Focus on one at a time and get
rid of one each. The Heaven Crest is the most deadly, so destroy
it first. The other ones are not quite so annoying. Once you
defeat the Crests, turn Firebrand into the Ultimate Gargoyle.
Now work up back at Slace until Fred is at Bahamut level. This is
probably a good goal. A good indicator that you are ready to raid
the Empire Base is that you can kill most of the Slace Cave
monsters in one hit. One last place to visit is Baron from FF2.
Talk to Rosa and Cecil. They can't help you directly, but they
can give you Baronian troops. These guys are okay. One has the
ability of D. Blow, another has the ability of Metamorph, and a
third can transform into a werewolf. The other two both know
Steal and Capture. Now go down to the place where you fought Odin
(after saving, of course). Cast Lit 3 until Odin's sword breaks.
Then summon Odin (FF5). Odin will do Gungnir. This will give FF2
Odin pause. Use the pause to hit him hard with your best attacks.
You'll gain Odin as a summon, which, again, gives you a dual
summon. Now get out of here. We suggest you go to the base.
Fred will notice that the entire side of the continent with the
base is protected by towns and armies. There's a small, safe cove
to land in. Land there. You'll have to fight a small contingent
of sleeping Imperial troops. Most of the troops on this continent
are not nearly as bad. Take their uniforms for disguises. Now go
into the towns, using your vehicles and their MagiTek
Truck/Armors (this will give you the MagiTek Job). In the towns,
buy equipment and try to act like a good soldier. One of the
towns, Byblo, is a great library that has been taken over by the
Empire. Thanks to your low-level disguise, you can read some
texts, but not all. Later, you can either free Byblo or you could
now try to take a high-officer's uniform. There is a general in
town, who will shortly be going on a convoy. Save and heal, and
then have half of your team follow his convoy and the other half
be in it. When the convoy is at the point where they can't
communicate with anyone, bust out. Immediately rip off the convoy
(it's an All-Terrain Train) part that is just behind the
passenger's compartment. This is loaded with weapons. Now the
people will stop the convoy. Move your guys back and let your
stay-behind team shoot the soldiers up. When your stay-behind
team reaches the crippled convoy, move your hijackers back into
place and have them fire. This is the way to do it: have one team
be fighting while the other teams heals and reloads. Soon, the
soldiers will be defeated and you now have to fight the general.
The general takes advantage of large teams to win. Thus, send
everyone off except Fred and have Fred do Bahamut Morph. The
general will be distracted long enough for him to not use his
Dragon Slayer sword. Take advantage and do your best breath
attack, aimed at blowing the sword out of his hand. He'll run off
to get his sword. Either do a vacuum breath or blow him farther
from his sword. The next attack should be a claw to blow off his
head. Have Fred de-morph, take the sword and equip it, then take
his uniform. We suggest equipping it to Mariner, who looks very
much like the general, and has no morph moves which the armor
will hinder. Now go back and use your position to take the
highest spells and research.
Now go to the other towns, including Smithy, which manufactures
some of the best weapons yet, and Tradeland, which allows you to
get rare trade items. Now move on to the Imperial Base. Save
outside and then go in. You should be very strong by now. When
you go in, you have to get clearance, which includes a retinal
scan. Have Fred take the scan. When the guards look down, pull
swords and silenced weapons and kill them. Have Fred bust the
scanner. Now press the button to go through the door. There are
quite a few routes to siege the base. You can go through the
sewers with mutated spawns. You could take over security and
destroy barriers and such. You could go through the barracks and
troop quarters. And so on. We suggest you split into four or five
different groups.
One group will start and take the security. You'll have to fight
robots and soldiers along the way. When you reach security, press
the Manual Control button. Since you are not recognized as a
proper soldier, you will have to fight a MagiTek Robot. The robot
has several sections: an Elemental Section, a Power Section, a
Missile Battery section, a Defense section, and a Main Body
section. The Elemental and MB sections are the offensive
sections, the Power Section powers everything, and the Main Body
and Defense are the defense. Your first target should be the
Power Section. If the Defense Section gives you trouble here, hit
it. Cast Osmose and Electro-Drain only. When Power is destroyed,
hit the entire thing with your strongest attacks while the
MagiTek Robot switches to Auxillary Power. The Auxillary Power is
stored in the Main Body. Your next target should be Defense.
First, Osmose it and hit it so it can't cast Life 2 on Power.
Then crush it. Your next target should be the the most annoying
attacker. Then, hit the Main Body and the Auxillary Power. The
final bit should now explode. Pick up the scraps: you can rebuild
the robot later. However, you'll find a small part that doesn't
really belong in the robot. It seems to be very old and very
powerful. It's purpose will become clear later. Now, though, you
should take control of Security. Now switch to one of your other
teams.
The next team we did was the Sewer Team. The Sewer Route is a
gauntlet of mutant rats, deadly bacteria and other such dangers.
Constantly be attacking and looking for valuable things to pick
up. When you reach a rest point, rest, reload and ready yourself.
Continue to run down the sewers and then be prepared for the
boss. The boss is a giant mutant rat fused with a mutant ant. The
ant will summon insects and the rat will summon rats, but neither
at the same time. One will summon, one will attack. Pin the
summoner and viciously attack the other side. Kill the monsters
as they crop up. Don't be too wasteful, because a hard boss
awaits when all your teams meet. When you destroy the monster,
you'll get it as an Esper, plus some scattered materia and
weapons. If you want to, run back and rest, then go back and
switch.
We did the Dungeon Team next. The Dungeon Team must run through
the dank, dirty dungeons. All manners of creatures infest the
place. Be sure to take all the side passages. All are guarded.
One is guarded by some Zombie Soldiers (very tough, but Cure,
Life and Holy spells will kill them). They guard some useful
treasure. Be sure to search the corpses on the torture racks.
Many turn out ghosts or skeletons that will give you something
useful. The next door opens and you'll see a Golem being
tortured. This Golem is strange, however (it is the FF5 style).
Fight the Executioner. You'll only be able to force him to Escape
(which you will then learn as a Lore move). He will do Doom
spells, Doom Blade, and Behead (an attack that misses often but
will always kill if hits; you learn it, of course). One way to
defeat him is to have Brian use Weighted Roulette over and over
until Executioner does Roulette. The Weighted Roulette will
usually be enough to force the cursor onto the Executioner. When
you defeat the Executioner, Golem will thank you and join you as
a Summon.
Now go on to the next door. You'll have to fight a powerful
Reaper Skeleton. It'll use Harvester Blades (throwing blades on
everyone; Lore spell), Gale Harvest (sweeps in and cuts everyone;
Lore spell), Life Harvest (drains HP and MP from everyone, plus
will take souls if it kills the target; Lore spell) and Behead.
If you can defeat it, you'll get Magus' ultimate scythe.
The next door houses the Teachers. The Teachers are spirits
who'll fight you and teach you Blue Mage spells/Lore/Enemy
Skills. One is going to teach you Healing/Helping Magic. He casts
Life Guard 1, which protects against a single Doom-style attack.
He then casts Life Guard 2, which lowers the success ratio of
such spells. He casts Life Guard 3, which makes you totally
immune to that kind of spell for a short amount of time. He
teaches you Half Damage, which halves all damage. He teaches you
Double Life, which doubles HP. He casts Time Bend, which casts
Slow on all enemies and Haste on all party members. He casts Moon
Flute, which Bserks all party members. He casts Anti-Rflect,
which Rflects all physical attacks. He casts Guardian Angel,
which summons a Life angel to come down and protect you when an
attack that would kill you is made. He teaches you Initial Safe,
Initial Shell, and Initial Fast. He finally casts Pep Up, which
kills you to restore all of everyone else's health.
Now he'll heal you up, save, and direct you to the Offense
Teacher. The Offense teacher won't be too nice on you. He starts
out with Pure Waters. It is similar to Pearl Wind 2: heals the
caster and hurts all everyone else with a combo of Holy/Water
damage. He then casts Repulsion, repelling everyone from a
certain distance. He then casts Magic Dive, which causes your MP
levels to temporarily "dive". He casts Magic Dive 2,
which does the same thing for real. He casts GravitDrop, which
causes flying people to fall to the ground and take damage. He
casts Ghost Rush, which causes you to apparently teleport and go
to the other side of the enemy, but in fact hits the enemy along
the way. He'll now give you a small chance to recuperate. Move as
quickly as possible to heal up and then hit him hard. He'll be so
surprised that is next attacks will miss. He'll cast Hyper Beam,
Inferno, Charge Punch, All-Jump, Psi Drop (similar to Magic
Dive), Psi Drop 2 (similar to Magic Dive 2), Mind Shatter (an
attack that greatly cripples psionics), Brittle Sword (which
freezes weapons to make them brittle), and White Hole (which
kills AND stones). Hit him yet again. He'll do another set of
failing attacks. These include Big Bang (one of Zemus' attacks,
which hurts all enemies for tons AND does continual damage),
Blaster (which kills or entangles enemies), Circle (which wipes
enemies from memory), Giant Waterfall, Magnet Sword (which draws
all of the enemy's equipment into the wall), Laws of Physics
(which lets you re-write one set of physics), Leadfoot (which
weighs the target down, so they move much quicker), Spirit Sword
(which calls a bunch of spirits to form a sword or other weapon
which then can either be used to hurt in one turn or kept as a
weapon), and Sewer Scent (which causes everyone to be nauseated
and poisoned). Now hit him for the last time. He'll cast Final
Possess, which kills one character for sure.
The final teacher is Illusion and Defense. He casts Fake Scan on
himself, which gives you a fake reading on strength. He then
casts Smoke Screen, which moves everyone about a few feet in the
view of the enemy. He casts Mist. He'll cast Dark Shield, Fire
Shield, Holy Shield, Ice Shield, Air Shield, Earth Shield,
Hexa-Shield (all six), and Prismatic Spheres. He'll cast
Phantasmal Killer, Forget (makes enemy forget something), and
Halls of Illusions (which makes people think that they're walking
one way but they are walking another way). Leave after healing.
Finally, you'll reach the Executioner. He'll be interrogating
some soldiers. The Executioner will notice you. He'll charge you.
Make sure you heal (if you didn't before). Use your best spells
and be sure to revive people. Be sure to use your new spells,
especially Life Guard, Spirit Sword and Double Life. He's not too
tough; in fact, he's a pushover. Beat the crap out of him and
send him crying off. Free the people. They introduce themselves
as Rebels. One of them is Banon! He has a Leader Crystal Shard
with him. Save and use a Cabin. Now go to the door and switch to
another team.
When you finally get all of the teams to the Armory, bust in and
get ready to fight. When you take all of the stuff, a General
walks in. He comes in and reveals himself as General Korkang
Zeroth. He has received help from the All-Monster, and walks in
with Dark Fred! Fred and Dark Fred insult each other, and Fred
recalls when he was taken by scientists trying to experiment with
Magis and was forced to make a clone. Dark Fred and Fred come to
blows first. Dark Fred will kick his ass, but Fred will suddenly
gain an incredible surge of power, temporarily transform into
something different, and then lose the morph immediately. But
Fred then morphs into Infinity Bahamut and kicks Dark Fred's ass.
Now he morphs back, confused and dazed. Dark Fred and Korkang now
fight you.
Korkang has a very powerful sword and a powerful chaingun mounted
on his arm. Use your new Enemy Skills and your powerful Summons.
We suggest you start by summoning Golem. When Dark Fred
transforms into a dragon, hit him with the Dragon Slayer and
Spirit Sword. This should be enough to kill him. Now Korkang will
transform into a monster himself. Heal up using Banon's Health
and other good curing techniques. Korkang has a vicious physical
assault, so cast Anti-Rflect. This should hurt himself enough so
he casts spells. Use your own summons once everyone has been
Anti-Rflected. He'll then prepare to cast Grand Soul Reaper. Cast
Life Guard 3 on as many people as possible. Grand Soul Reaper
will come in and kill a big amount of people. Hit him very hard
now and stab in the head with the Dragon Slayer. He'll cast Grand
Train as his goodbye and he'll then run. The base will destroy
itself. You have some time to get out. Save everyone, including
the tied up soldiers and the Executioner. If you save everyone
and get everything, you won't have enough time to escape, but the
tied up dragon will save you and bring you to the Ranger's Wings.
Unfortunately, it used the last of it's strength and must go to
the Pheonix Tower. Now you can go back to the Solitary Island and
give the Cids and Mid your parts. Sleep. The Executioner and the
other soldiers will join you. They thank you for saving them and
realize how evil the Empire is. The Executioner turns out to be
from Mace. In the morning, Cid and the gang will be completed.
They'll also bring you to a strange machine. They say that parts
fell out of this machine, and that the machine must have it's
parts refilled. The part you found allows you to go into space.
Now you have a whole new horizon in front of you. We'll advise
you here, too. But now you have lots of problems. Your party has
been getting very big, and now you may not have a good idea of
who to choose. We'll now list who you should have and their
skills and weaknesses (in alphabetical order, to be useful):
Alex King: His mech is pretty good, but we suggest you buy some
upgrades for it. He is a very good person to soak up gunfire AND
to fire upon enemies.
Brian: He has a lot of useful moves. If you intend to use Sword
Entangle, be sure to have two swords ready. His seedy side gives
him some cool moves but also makes him more susceptible to Holy.
Butz: He's pretty high in levels, and he is skilled with Jobs,
having mastered them all.
Fred: He's probably one of your strongest characters by now. He
is strong, quick, and is good at magic. His Dragon Morph is
useful.
Form a set Party and Backup Party. The first thing you should do
is have FF3 Cid fix the robot. He'll then give it to you. The
next thing you should do is visit the Pheonix Tower. You can take
your airship above it and grapple with ropes to the top. The
dragon that saved you will be there, fighting another Pheonix.
Faris will recognize the Pheonix as Lenna's Hiryuu. The two sill
stop fighting and talk to you. They'll give you themselves as
Summons. One will revive all of your people, the other will burn
your enemies with life flames. This is a very useful but
expensive (MP) summon.
Now Fred will remind everyone of what you're supposed to be
doing. You need to find Thrash and Badcat. However, you can wait
as long as you like before you get them. One thing that is a good
thing to do is to get Banon to take you to the Rebels.
The Rebels have a small, secret base somewhere. When you enter,
Banon will introduce you very quickly, then you'll join a
meeting. The meeting shows that the Rebels are in the same
position as the Returners were: they need more members and more
firepower. Banon will say that you are a very powerful group. If
you want to join, you should. The Rebels don't care about the
extent of your membership, they just want you to help. Now the
Rebels give you a list of jobs you can do, similar to the
Rangers.
We waited a little bit before we got Thrash and Badcat. So that's
the way we're going to walk-through. We next landed at Pallet
Town and talked to Ash. This is Ash a year after Pokemon. He has
every Pokemon at high levels and is relaxing. You can tell him of
your quest. He'll want to see just how tough you are. Have Fred
fight him (morph to Neo Bahamut). He'll send out six powerful
Pokemon. Neo Bahamut can do lots of damage, so he should be able
to defeat quite a lot. When you defeat him, he'll be convinced
that you are indeed powerful. Now he joins. He'll give all of
your party members Pokemon. Now go on to the Ranger's Wings and
visit FF2's Moon. Go to Bahamut's Cave and fight through it till
you reach Bahamut at the bottom. Bahamut is willing to test you.
Fight him; he won't be too tough. If you cast Bahamut, he'll be
puzzled long enough for you to hit him hard again. When you gain
him, you'll have two Bahamut summons. Now Warp back to the
Ranger's Wings and fly off back to FinalBattle. Here, visit the
RoboTrek World and go to the inventor's home town. Talk to him
and convince him that you need his help. You now have another
useful party member.
Now visit the Sealed Castle of Kozer. There are 13 new Sealed
Weapons: Mjolnir, Gungnir, Royal Bell, Death Axe, Star Staff, Sun
Rod, Lugh's Spear, Black Cauldron, Pure Blade, Devil Blade,
Nobunaga's Katana, Bahamut Slayer, and Koga's Shuriken. In
addition, in the old holding places, there are directions to
where to find the other 12 Sealed Weapons. They have all be
plundered by the Empire. You're not strong enough to take their
holding place yet. The Bahamut Slayer OR Gungnir can be taken
now. The Bahamut Slayer does tons of damage and kills monsters
very well. Gungnir does lots of damage and can be thrown. Take
one and leave. In order to unlock the weapons, you'll need
Tablets again. These tablets are in a different place. A book is
lying on the ground, telling where to find the weapons. One is in
"a grave inhabited by a man of the stars". This is
Orion's Grave. Go into it. There are two dragon statues guarding
a door. Go to the door. The statues will attack you. They aren't
too tough for bosses. Just kill them both before they do
DuoBreath. Now go in.
The inside of Orion's Grave is littered with stars. You'll fight
stars and small constellations as your regular enemies. Pull out
the book and turn to page Orion. It'll have a full page of: D L R
D R L D U L U L U and so on. Follow these directions, with D
being down, L being left, R being right, and U being up. Finally,
you'll reach a big, empty place. Wait for a few seconds. Pretty
soon, the stars will swirl, and a Black Hole will attack you.
The Black Hole will attempt to use Demi frequently. Cast Rflect.
The Black Hole is powered magically, so you can cast magic spell
after magic spell (mainly spells that give light/fire; Holy,
Bahamut, Flare, Meteo) and then just use Osmose, which does
physical damage from MP drain. Heal up frequently. The last
attack will attempt to destroy your party with a very powerful
gravitational attack. Now, take the Tablet. On it is the spell
Black Hole, which has several uses, one of which is to stop magic
casting. Zemus had this style of the spell. Now go back to Sealed
Castle Kozer.
We took the Bahamut Slayer the first time we came, so now I took
the Pure Blade, Koga's Shuriken and Gungnir. The tablet was
shattered and we could go back. The next place listed is, "A
place of the sea, protected by a ring of fire." The Ranger's
Wings can sink, so go to the east from Orion's Grave until you
find a ring of volcanoes and a castle. The volcanoes won't do
much to stop you, so just go to the Castle. You'll put on a bunch
of Oxygen Suits. The place will be Sunken Castle Camelot! Fight
the dragons at the entrance. Go through, fighting water monsters
and possessed suits of armor. You'll have to press lots of
switches and find lots of keys to get to the Round Table.
When you finally get to the throne room, pick up the tablet in
the center. A monster will appear to challenge you, but it will
get killed by the Knights of the Round. The Knights will rise the
castle up to the surface and back to land. They'll challenge you
to a One-on-One. They have 13 Knights, I believe, so pick 13
people to challenge. Each one does a monstrous amount of damage
per hit, but it's all physical. Just cast Anti-Rflect and let
them beat the crap out of themselves. They'll agree that you
defeated them, and they will join your party as a Summon. Now you
have Knights of the Round Summon!
Take the tablet back to Sealed Castle Kozer. Put the tablet back
in the holding place. We picked Black Cauldron (for it's help
with Chemist powers and it's matching of the Hades Summon),
Devil's Blade and Mjolnir. Now we left and went to the next place
on our list. It says: "A Druid's forest, a maze of magical
trees." Go to the forest by Mirage. Fight outside until you
learn True Sight. Then go into the forest. Beat the dragons per
usual. You'll see a bunch of moving trees. Cast True Sight. All
of the monster trees are revealed as red trees with faces on
them. The trees aren't too tough, and give a lot of AP to develop
skills and materia. There are a few types: Hole Trees, who hide
lots of GP and items, Teacher Trees, which give a lot of AP, and
Fighter Trees, which give a lot of experience. Once you've had
your share of fighting these guys, go back outside, use a Cabin
and Save. Now go back in. Go to the real trees. They either serve
as a catapult, a ladder, or a place to go underground. Go through
this maze of trees until you reach the top. There, a mighty snake
is wrapped around a tablet. Challenge the snake. It has a lot of
MP. It will attack whoever attacked it last. Thus, cast
Anti-Rflect and protective spells on your most powerful attacker,
then hit the snake hard. Eventually, the snake will kill that
character. Easy: just repeat the process. The snake soon will
kick the bucket, leaving you to pick up the tablet. Now Hades
(FF7 style) and the snake will appear. They will go off to the
North Mountain where you fought FF5 Bahamut. Now Exit and go to
Sealed Castle Kozer.
Our next weapons that we took were Lugh's Spear, Star Staff and
Death Axe. Now, go off to the North Mountain. It is again not too
hard. Save before the top and get ready. The snake and Hades are
waiting for you. The snake reveals itself to be Sultan Cobra. Now
you have to fight the two. Black Cauldron is a deadly attack, but
Sultan Cobra has powerful poisons. We hit Hades with Lugh's
Spear, Star Staff and Pure Sword. We hit the Sultan Cobra with
the Bahamut Slayer, Black Cauldron, Mjolnir and Gungnir. Also
cast Holy on Hades, Knights of the Round, Pheonix, Bahamut,
Leviathan and Odin on both, and Flare and Meteo mainly on Sultan
Cobra. Keep up the attack and cast Anti-Rflect, Big Guard, etc.
When Black Cauldron is cast, work to get rid of the effects, then
hit Hades hard to discourage a second Black Cauldron. Once one is
dead, the other will become Bserked. This means that killing
Sultan Cobra first is an incredibly wise move. A Bserked Hades is
little danger and can be eliminated casually. When you've
defeated the two, they join your Summons list. Now Warp to the
Ranger's Wings and rest again. The final place is, "A place
of imagined monsters." Go to Calvin's house and go under the
bed. Defeat the last dragon set. There is a Save Point and two
paths. Go down the left. On the left path is a giant monster.
Fight it. It does a lot of physical damage, so cast Anti-Rflect
and keep up the pressure. It will use Constrict, Crush, Tentacle,
and Sneeze. Defeat it and you get Calvin's ultimate shirt, Armor
Shirt. Now go down the right path after healing. You'll fight
monsters often, but the path is relatively short. There is a
giant room with the tablet in the center. Unfortunately, if you
step in the wrong place, you fall a few levels below. Be sure to
fall in selected places, because then you can get otherwise
unreachable treasure. Eventually, though, you'll reach the
center. If you want to skip all the hassle, merely zig zag until
you are to the side of the tablet, then go all the way down, then
one step to the left, then up. When you touch the tablet, four
monsters appear and begin their assault. One is Dark elemental
oriented, one is Water, one is Fire, one is Earth. Cast L. 5 Doom
to kill the Fire one, then cast Bahamut. Then use Holy on the
Dark Elemental one until it is destroyed, then hit the Earth one
with Flare, then kill the Water one with Bolt 3. Take the tablet,
warp to the Ranger's Wings, and go to Sealed Castle Kozer. Take
the last weapons. When you try to leave, another monster will
attack. This one is called Holy Guardian. Wait until it hurts one
of your party members. Heal until it finally becomes Dark
Guardian. Then cast Holy on it. Repeat the steps until you defeat
it. You'll then get it as an Esper.
Now that you have all the Sealed Weapons you just got, here's a
list of what each does:

Now there is yet another set of Sealed Weapons. It includes:
Snake Whip, Tyson Gloves, Serpent Sword, Bleeding Spear,
Condemning Spear, Cursed Sword, Cursed Spear, Cursed Axe, Cursed
Dagger, Merlin's Sword, Flayer, and Berserker's Bane. However,
you have yet to reap your rewards for the last tablet. Go to the
newly erected Seven Forks Tower. Split into four groups and brave
the top. Buy Fire Mail, Ice Mail, Lightning Mail, Dark Mail,
White Mail, and Gaia Gear from the town nearby. Equip the Red
Mail to your Meganuke Group, your Blue Mail to your Tsunami and
Glacier group, etc. The seven towers are all filled with monsters
that exemplfiy the element. Thus, you have no danger with the
mails. At the top of each tower is the spell and a boss. The
center tower, Dark Matter, controls switches for all the other
six. The other six have two-group helping (i.e. fire group
presses a switch to remove a wall, ice group presses a switch to
remove a waterfall, and so on) in the following combos: Holy and
Water, Fire and Ice, Earth and Air. Help each group to the top,
then take the spells simultaneously. You'll have to fight battles
in order. Each one is a pure elemental stuff of the spell type,
thus you're in no danger. Just attack constantly with your
new-found Sealed Weapons until you destroy them all. The tower
will rocket your groups out. You'll have learned the following:
Dark Matter, Meganuke, Brrzap, Tsunami, Glacier, Godly Pearl, and
UltraQuake. We forgot about the Sealed Weapons for now and tried
to get Thrash and Badcat next.
The first place to go to is Ranger Headquarters. You can then ask
about the condition of DarkMask07 and Teknaro. They are
apparently out on a mission against the Empire. Then, a call is
received by the two. They say that they have been captured and
cannot break out. Now inquire about the state of Thrash and
Badcat. They are Missing. Fred will then say, "Can't you see
that DarkMask and Teknaro are Thrash and Badcat?" Fred then
puts together a visual match. Both match 99.9%. Fred explains the
crash of the Ranger's Wings and the likely resulting scars and
amnesia. Pike then says, "Well, then, you need to go and get
them. It's vital that Thrash and Badcat come back."
Now the Ranger's Wings must make another excursion into Empire
territory. The Rangers will give it a refitting and world-class
repair. It's now ready to be the gunship it was just a few months
ago. Now you can take off. The Empire has SAM sites all along the
prison base's continent, and the prison base is in the center of
the continent. Arm the ICBMs and set it for remote control. Fly
low with one of the pods. Then use the remote control to fire the
missiles. The SAMs will be taken out. You will then be able to
fly into the center of the continent as the Ranger's Wings runs
away and fires at pursuers. Land a good distance away and put
back on your Empire uniforms. The Imperial officials will welcome
you until they scan your armor. Then, they'll notice that your
armor is the same as the people who sieged the base. You can
either start attacking or make up a story about capturing those
people. As soon as you see the commander wave his arm, move to
the sides and start blowing the soldiers away. The soldiers will
stand no chance. Then the Commander comes forward. He reveals
himself to be a rather tough mercenary. But he can't take more
than one hit from the Sealed Weapons. When you defeat him, take
his gun. Now charge through the base. Constantly be firing. Have
Fred do Neo Bahamut Morph (or Bahamut Zero, if you have it).
Crush the soldiers and blow down doors. Run to Thrash and
Badcat's quarters. Blow down the door. Teknaro and DarkMask 07
will barely be able to recognize you. Now go out.
Guess who comes now? The most powerful Avatars, Cathrash and
Thrabad. Fight them as hard as you want; it doesn't matter.
They'll kick your ass with a hand tied behind their back. Fred
casts a Bserk spell on Thrash and Badcat. Now the two have no
blocks of their memory; they'll start casting tons of spells and
totally kicking Cathrash and Thrabad's ass. Cathrash and Thrabad
will escape back to the All-Monster, and DarkMask07 and Teknaro
will just stand there, awestruck.
Now go to the Ranger's Wings and head towards the Ranger
Headquarters. When you land, everyone is ready to work on Thrash
and Badcat's memory. They say it'll take about a week. You're
gonna need to take some other time. Why not get the new Sealed
Weapons?
The book tells you to look at a forbidden book in the castle with
the god. Go to Castle Bal and look at the Forbidden Book. The
librarian will let you take it out. This Forbidden Book will tell
you to go to "right below where you are". Go to Odin's
place and fall down through the hole with a weight. The cave
floor will collapse one floor. There's an ancient button that can
be fixed up. It lowers the cave floor up and down. Now go through
the door and just go straight down. There's a monster literally
every step of the way, the first one being two Statues. The
Statues are bosses, but just like the Dragons before them,
they're wimpy. At the bottom is the tablet. Pick it up and
prepare to battle. When you get to the top, a giant octopus will
crush the floor down and cause it to be immersed in water. Now
you have to fight Kraken, and if you take too long, the cave will
sink so far that you can't breathe anymore, and you get crushed.
At first, cast Brrzap over and over. When the water gets too high
up to be able to cast lightning spells anymore, cast Holy,
Bahamut, Odin and Leviathan. When you run out of MP, just attack.
When you kill Kraken, the floor will come back up and you'll get
a new summon (Kraken, of course). Now Warp to the Ranger's Wings
and go to Kozer. We picked the Bleeding Spear, Tyson Gloves and
Snake Whip. Now go on to "the home of a recent mariner,
stranded in the ocean". Go to Worus Canal and go through it
to the land. Then you'll find the Ship Graveyard.
Land on Faris' ship. Go into it. A ghostly force will expel you,
and two Statues will revive. These guys are tougher than the ones
guarding Kraken's tablet, but not much. When you defeat the
Statues, you can go in. There are ghosts and skeletons and some
human pirates. The monsters here are pretty tough. If you can't
handle them, just use them as building-up tools. If they're easy,
just go through. After floors of fighting, you'll reach Faris'
basement. When you try to move anywhere, the boss will form.
Spirits will flow through the rafters to the center of the mast
that you climbed down onto. The boss, Spirit Egg, will now be
ready to fight. The first part of the boss is the mast, turned
into a demonic presence. It will devour people and lash out with
vicious tentacles. Spread away from it and cast Holy. Pure Blade
is a very useful weapon here. When you defeat that part, it forms
into a spirit pirate. The pirate knows a move called Ghost
Waters, which hits with a combination of ghost and water based
attacks. It also knows Throw x3, Pump-Up 4 (Earth Shield, Rflect,
Safe, and Haste), and Debilitate (change opponent's elemental
weakness). Expect 3000-4000 HP damage per hit. We suggest having
one person, suggestibly Fred as Bahamut Zero, Firebrand as
Ultimate Gargoyle or the Predator, take on the pirate while
everyone else charges. When the center person is defeated, cast
the charged spells (Holy, Flare, Bahamut, Odin, Meteo, Hades,
Sultan Cobra, Syldra, Meganuke, Godly Pearl, Glacier, Tsunami,
and so on). This will probably kill the pirate. Take the cutlass
and the pistol and go and take the tablet. Faris' ship will be
exorcised of demons and it'll become it's regular size again. Now
drive it into the Ranger's Wings bay. This is one of the first of
a series of vehicles you'll be holding in your deck. Go back to
Kozer and take the Berserker's Bane, the Flayer and Merlin's
Sword. Roughly three days should have passed by now. Now look in
your book. The next destination should be "A slave camp
defended by none." (The thing you get from Faris' ship is
the Ghost Ship Summon.)
Go back to the slave camp and go to the mine shafts. The place
will now be worked by the same people, but they will be receiving
wages. They'll remember you and use "Executive
Privilege" to let you into the mine shafts again. Head
through it. Monsters are not too frequent, but all are mini-boss
power. There are a few Save Points. The maze is thick and hard.
We suggest you buy the Monster-Proof Chalk before going in. Then
mark your way with chalk. When you reach the point where the
strata is pointing to a common center. Move down until you see a
vibrating ore. The ore will pull all of you into it, where you
have to fight the AdamantSoul.
The AdamantSoul does not take too much damage. The point is to
wear down it's defense. First, cast Meganuke, Glacier and Brrzap
in that order. The defense should weaken a lot. Then use Death
Axe and nails. Use bombs next. When the Adamant Soul warps and
hits all of your characters, heal up except for one character.
Have that one character use Exploder. The AdamantSoul will then
counterattack, nearly killing one of your members, assuming it
doesn't just try to hit the Exploder character! Now do many Tech
Attacks. This will greatly hurt it. It'll go back to old
AdamantSoul form. Now cast the Summons. If your characters have
Mastered the Caller Job and can use Conjure, wonderful. This will
save MP. Also, use the Ghost Lamp. Brian's Poker Strike works
really well. When a hole finally gets big enough to invade, send
your strongest (Fred, Firebrand, or some other strong character)
person in and have them do a Limit Break or powerful attack
inside of the AdamantSoul. Now, at this point, victory is
practically assured. Cast magic until MP runs out, then attack.
Do the Tech Attack trick if it goes into Counter Attack form.
When you kill it, you'll get the ore, which can be used to form
an incredibly powerful weapon later. But for now, just be content
with getting the tablet and getting to Kozer. We next took the
Condemn Spear, the Cursed Spear and the Cursed Sword. Now go
back. There is a newly formed Wind Tower. Land in it. It can be
hard chasing the cloud down, but just do it. The tower will give
you a gauntlet to survive. You must choose two characters, each
of which will represent the party. One will become the Master of
the Holy Winds if they succeed, the other the Master of the
Deadly Tempests. However, at the end, they must fight a shadow of
the other. Save, drink from the Magic Jar, and pick your two
strongest. Now go through the gauntlet. Each gauntlet is a series
of deadly fighters. Fight one after the other after the other.
Each one should contain roughly 10-15 bosses. When the final one
is defeated, now comes the Shadow. The Shadow is as strong as the
real thing, so reduce the person's MP to nil and their HP to slim
and the battle will be easy. Then do the same with the other
character and take the Gauntlet with the other character (after
healing, of course). When you defeat both sides, the two people
are granted the powers and are thrown out. Heal up. It should be
about 5 days now. Everyone has the two skills, which gives them a
very powerful healing skill and a very powerful offensive skill.
The final place to find the tablet is, "A secret city's
marketplace." Go to Mirage and talk to the people. Since the
events of FF5, Mirage has become much different. The morose
townspeople are now excited. The Cleft of Dimension is very close
to the FB world, and trade has become easy. In addition, the
dimensional weirdness caused by the FB dimension's existence has
caused the Mirage town to be very popular for travelers to just
pop in, and is very close to the End of Time. In fact, this is a
great time to visit the End of Time and learn some magic from
Spekkio. But you're not here for that. Trade for the tablet. When
you try to leave with it, Wrexsoul will accost you.
Wrexsoul is easy to defeat if you cast X-Zone first. If you can
kill the Soul Savers, Wrexsoul kicks the bucket. If that fails,
you'll have to find who's the host (big parties are bad in this
battle), kill him, and then destroy Wrexsoul when he comes out. A
great idea is to have people ready to do Tech Attacks on Wrexsoul
and have only one person killing your party members. In addition,
casting True Sight will let you find the host and swoon the
person. When Wrexsoul comes out, kick his ass. When you defeat
him, take the Soul Savers (everyone gets two Soul Savers
bodyguards). Take the Tablet to Kozer and finally take the Cursed
Dagger, the Cursed Axe and the Serpent Sword. The second-to-last
day is done. Now just uncurse the Cursed Weapons for the last
day. Thrash and Badcat are fully treated, and you have back the
two greatest Rangers. Talk to them. They'll congratulate you for
doing so well, and they'll rejoin. Now it's time for the list of

When you leave, the following weapons will fill in the slots:
Redbeard's Cutlass, Redbeard's Pistol, Dragoon Rifle, Siren's
Flute, Alexander's Sword, Ray Sword, Wave Sword, Anakin's
Lightsaber, Avenger Axe, Ragnar Axes, Lava Axe, Satan's Trident,
Storm Bow, Yggdrasil Splitter, Yggdrasil Branch, Nosferatu
Flayer, Nosferatu Sniper, Olympus Discus, Cursed Flute, Cursed
Harp, Koga's Swords, Koga's Dagger, Koga's Gloves, Koga's Bow,
Storm Katana, Storm Harp, Storm Bell, Ghost Sword, Amazing
Warrior Katana, Koga's Suit, Ragnar's Armor, Yggdrasil Armor,
Dragoon General Armor, Sleipnir, Golem's Hand and Tyr's Hand. 36
in all. So far, you've gotten 24 weapons. If you get this and the
next set, you'll have more Sealed Weapons than you can use. We
suggest expanding your party now.
Go and get the Zerg Genetic list from the Ultimate Shop, in
addition to the Genetic Cloner. Now clone the heroes (you can't
clone Infested Kerrigan, Sarah Kerrigan or Infested Duran,
unfort.) These include Unclean One, Devouring One, Torrasque,
Infested Command Center, Infested Terran, Scourge, Kukulza:
Devourer, Kukulza: Guardian, Kukulza: Mutalisk, Devourer,
Matriarch, Hive, Zerg bodyguards, Hunter Killers, Yggdrasil, and
Lurkers. Most of these cannot equip weapons, but Unclean One is
incredibly useful.
Put together your two Forbidden Books to get new data. But first,
use your new-found wealth in the Ranger's Wings to equip all of
your characters with tons of Relic Bags/Belts and fill them up
with materia. Then you should go and get some more characters,
especially Gogo and his ULB.
First, visit New Midgar and check out the cave above the city.
There, you'll find all the FF7 characters. Talk to them. They'll
take up their arms and join you. They all are level 99 with
ultimate weapons and Level 4 LBs.
Cloud's real ULB is relatively easy to get. Just fight in the
Ultimate Shop's Battle Arena for a while until you can buy
Omnislash 9. Now go to Joker's battle arena (in Russia) and fight
him. When you kick his ass, he'll be impressed and join you. Now
go to the Battle Arena and fight for his ultimate weapons and his
Morph Limit Breaks.
So far, you have Firebrand and Cloud's ULB. We suggest you
have 10 ULBs, not counting Gogo and Chronomime. First, get Gogo.
Go to the Triangle Island and get swallowed by the Zone Eater.
Fight through until you reach Gogo. Gogo will join your party
when you tell him your story. Now Warp to the Ranger's Wings.
Look at the Mimic Crystal Shard. There's a picture of a shrine.
Go to it. It is the Mimic Shrine. Save outside and prepare to
fight Gogo inside. This is the FF5 Gogo, and he tests you. For
the first minute, he does nothing. Then he casts Holy. Cast Holy
back. He'll cast Meteo. Cast Meteo. And so on. Whenever you don't
mimic exactly, he does Failure X on you, an incredibly powerful
attack. Just stick in there: he'll run out of MP too and he'll be
unable to cast until he Elixirs. He'll also get hurt. One trick:
Just cast Mute until it works. If it works, all he'll be able to
do his physical attacks. Cast Anti-Rflect. Gogo will just beat
the crap out of himself, and since you have to Mimic (snicker),
hit him! Just be careful. Save and try again if it takes too long
to do the Mute strategy. If you win, you learn Failure X and get
the Ultimate Mimic Job, giving everyone the kiddy's version of
Chronomime and Gogo the real thing!
Now, go to Scorpio. Trade around for the Metal Cap and the Wing
Cap. Then go to the cave in the tail section of town. In there,
you'll see another Tablet! Save outside and then go in. Fight the
Encroaching Walls. Cast Bahamut, Holy, Flare, Kraken, etc. The
battle is relatively easy, and you get a new Summon, plus the
tablet (Encroaching Walls Summon). Go back to Kozer and take
Anakin's Lightsaber, Wave Sword, Dragoon General Armor,
Redbeard's Pistol, Sleipnir, Olympus Discus, Cursed Harp or
Flute, Koga's Suit and Ray Sword. Uncurse the Harp or Flute and
move on.
You can now go to the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is by another
crescent island, facing east. There's a goblin village and a
strange shrine at the top. The Lighthouse is important, though.
Go into it. There's a Tutorial, handing out the new Tutorial
Discs. Go up to the 2nd Floor. Fight the rats (easy, but gives
experience). Move across the next room. Finally, fight the
maggots in the food stores. When you get to the top, head to the
lamp and the tablet. When you pick up either, the room will open
up and skeletons will fly out. Then they'll form into a strange
thing. The skeleton will have Legs,a Heart, a Fighting Arm, a
Medic Arm and a Head. You can just cast Pheonix (both) on it and
kill it. Now take the tablet and the lamp (powerful fighting
item) and leave. Now we suggest geting the other Cursed Item,
Redbeard's Cutlass, Storm Harp, Storm Katana, Tyr's Hand,
Nosferatu Flayer, Nosferatu Sniper, Yggdrasil Splitter and
Yggdrasil Branch. Now Uncurse the item and move on again. You're
almost ready to take on Colonel Collins, but get a few more ULBs.
Also, a new cave will appear, housing Entropy and Restorer
(unlocked by the lighthouse).
Some good ULBs:
Zeratul's: Templaric Entropy
Go to Aiur and go around until you find a shrine. Then fight the
boss inside. It'll be EntropyMaster. It'll cast Entropy (powerful
dark magic attack; you must learn it from the new Shrine Cave).
Just cast Holy and GodlyPearl on it a lot. When it turns to
Spirit Form, cast Life 2 and Pheonix to kill it. You'll then get
Zeratul's ULB. His ULB has him imagining all the entropy that he
has seen, giving his blade incredible power. He htis the enemies
with dark psionics, and then Zeratul and the Dark Templars hits
with incredibly powerful blade attacks.
Monk's: Discipline of the Fists
Look at the Monk's Crystal Shard. Find it's shrine and save.
Fight the Monks. Yet again, the incredibly useful Anti-Rflect
spell is a savior. The monks will kick their own ass into the
wall. You'll then get the Discipline of the Fists ULB for
everyone and UPP in Monk Job, which gives everyone Monk Job all
the time.
Fred's: Cataclysm, Cleansing Blast
Fight for these at the Battle Arena.
Hunter: Grand Hunter
Yet again, you look at the Crystal Piece and go to the indicated
shrine. Save outside per usual. Go inside and prepare to be
sniped down. If you can dodge the initial shots, the Hunters will
challenge you. Anti-Rflect will not work, so just use L.5 Doom.
Then cast Condemn and use your best attacks constantly. When you
win, you get another Communal UPP and ULB.
Red XIII: Universal Memory
Go underwater until you find a cave that is covered by a lip. Go
up. You'll see an old man. The old man will teach Red XIII
Universal Memory for a fee of 1000 GP.
Barret's: Nuclear Catastrophe:
Visit the place where Midgar crashed on top of itself. Where you
see a bag, dig until you unearth a Guardian. Cast
Invulnerable???? until Guardian gets tired and lets down it's
defense mode to hit you bad. At this point unload with your best
attacks. Guardian will be crushed and Nuclear Catastrophe is
yours.
When you get these and others, save outside the cave that is
identified by your Book. Inside, you'll see the Overlord in a
Magicite Shard! Now, behind you is Colonel Collins, a nasty
mustached man in a gigantic mech. This is a hard battle. Have
Unclean One use Dark Swarm. Make sure you have 100+ Ethers, 50+
Elixirs, 50+ X-Ethers. Constantly fill up Unclean One and have
someone else go out and attack constantly. After tons of people
have died (in fact, all except a few last 2 or 3), send out Gogo
and let him get to LB level (have Invulnerable???? on). Now cast
Chronomime. So many attacks should be done, Colonel Collins
should be nearly killed. Have two of the remaining three cast
Life 2 and have the next go out and do Chronomime again. When you
do this, Colonel Collins should die and you can get the Overlord
Esper and the tablet.
Now go back to Kozer and take , but before you take the last
item, strike the tablet. All of the equipment will be revealed!
However, if you take a tablet, you must take all within one set.
Now go
Well, well, well. You haven't done too bad. The All-Monster is
your next goal, since you have the Golden Knight. However, you
shouldn't just go charging into the All-Monster's dimension. You
should be prepared. Your first task is to destroy the Empire and
the Corporation if you have not already. When these two are
destroyed, you get quite a bit of time. After about a month or so
in FB, the All-Monster will create a new group to bring about his
resurrection. It will usually be a cult trying to take over
pyramids. Again, kill the cult. This gives you some time, but
what to do with the time?
First, set your guys (except for your Main Party) to fight on
Hero Island/Isle until you have no characters who are below level
100. Second, you'll want all of the Sealed Weapons of Kozer. Find
the annoying tablets and take the weapons. Third, you'll need
about 400 people AT MINIMUM. If you have only 400 people, try to
get most of them Ultimate Weapons or ULBs. We say 600 people, all
level 100, allows you to win the battle fairly handily. Fourth,
get those ULBs. You should have 200 ULBs before you fight the
All-Monster. If it's easier for you to get people than ULBs, then
an extra 100 people and only 100 ULBs will work. Fifth, get tons
of GP so your Samurai Job people can use GP Rain/Coin Toss up the
wazoo. Gil, Yen, Tiberium and Minerals will also work. Sixth, it
might be helpful to hire some armies. These armies can then be
set to bodyguard all of your characters and/or to act just like
an army, swarming the All-Monster. Another thing to do is to buy
tons of items, including weapons and curative equipment. Develop
tech attacks for all of your characters. If that seems tedious,
it actually can be fun, and you only effectively need to create
Quadra Tech Attacks, as only four characters can fight the
All-Monster at once. Some more useful items:
Shields of Finite Durability: These shields can take one hit, no
matter how powerful.
Parry Materia: This materia lets you parry every time, which
means that you effectively get another attack only for parrying.
MP Absorb Materia: This is unimaginably helpful against the
All-Monster, because it lets you replenish your MP for more
Overlord Summons, and it gets rid of his abundant MP.
Mist Materia: This greatly lowers hit rates. This is more useful
against the Avatars, but it can help against the All-Monster.
Relic Bags/Belts/Pocket Dimensions, etc.: These let you hold tons
of accesories/relics AND materia.
Auto-Dodge: You automatically dodge all attacks. This does not
mean the dodge is successful, mind you, but combined with Mist,
this can give an unbreakable defense.
Tetra-Elemental: These things are expensive at the Ultimate Shop,
so it might be better to get them using Metamorph. However, these
items are worth it, because the All-Monster has got a huge
selection of elemental attacks. It also makes Chilla, Electrica
and Inferno Master almost useless against you.
Metamorph: If you can Metamorph the Avatars, you can get some
unimaginably powerful items. Don't count on it, though.
Tech Beads: These, when crushed, summon one character per one
crushed to do one Tech Attack. If you buy a couple thousand of
these, that means that you can summon characters to do 4 TriTech
Attacks. This means 4 Arc Impulses, Lifelines, etc.
Economizer/Gold Hairpin: With these two, you can usually cast
Overlord for something like 50-100 MP!! Knights of the Round,
Bahamut Zero/Infinity Bahamut, FF5/FF2 Bahamut, Odin, and all the
rest cost even less.
MP Max: Conversely, attaching these materia to your spells makes
them all cost Max MP. This can sometimes mean a spell more
powerful than the one you cast will be cast.
Quadric/X-Magic/Gem Box: If you can get X-Magic, Gem Box, and
X-Magic from Red Mage all on one character, plus Quadric, you can
cast a grand total of 24 spells. Thrash and Badcat could cast
28-32 with this combination. 24 spells would mean Overlord
Summon, Tellah's Meteo, Ultima 2, Knights of the Round, Entropy
and X-Meteor, all four times!! This might end up doing close to a
million damage if cast by someone with enough MP.
MP Regen: This is like Regen, but for MP. Very useful.
Life Regen/ULB/Death Explosion/Final Attack: This is a deadly
combination. When the All-Monster kills the character, they do
their Final Attack, which can either be the 24 Spells or the ULB.
Then, after that's done, they explode, and then get back up
thanks to Life Regen!
MP Absorb/Natural Spells: This is very useful. Attach MP Absorb
to non-Materia spells (which are all of the spells, if everyone
has fought an Intangir with Overlord). This means that the 24
Spell combo above would all absorb spells. In turn combined with
MP Regen, Elixirs and X-Ethers, this means that people can cast
the 24 Spell combo a lot.
Since you have all of the regular Jobs, you should get Ultimate
Personal Power in all of those Jobs. This gives all of your guys
several useful abilties and several ULBs, including Chronomime!
The Caller UPP lets all of your characters summon Overlord,
Summon-All, etc.
Another good project to do is to get one of the Final Fantasy
final bosses (Sephiroth, Exdeath, etc.; I did it with Zemus) and
fuse tons of other evil characters together. So, in other words,
I got Zemus and fused Zemus with Exdeath. Then I fused Zemus with
Lavos, Sephiroth, Pokey, Giygas, etc. This gives you a character
that can last a while with the All-Monster.
Getting all of the Guardian Forces from FF8 is a good idea. This
will give you more Summons.
Get at least 100 Enemy Skills. Following is a list of great
casting ideas:
Vanish: Cast this before you cast most of these spells. The
Vanish/X-Zone trick is well known to FF3 players, but
unfortunately, such tricks do not work on the All-Monster.
However, other tricks do. See the following.
Sonic Wave: The All-Monster is level 400, 700 and 1000. The first
number is when he comes to the FB World, the second number is
when you can cast Azra in his own dimension, the third is when
you hurt him really badly before casting Azra. This would reduce
the All-Monster to 200, 350 and 500. Much easier.
Rippler: This lets you trade some of your weaker attributes for
some of the All-Monster's superior attributes. The person who
casts Rippler will probably get attacked brutally by the
All-Monster. However, you can quickly drag down the All-Monster's
power.
Getting Pokemon for all of your guys will also increase your
fighting power many times over.
Having all of the above will let you fight the All-Monster and
have a good chance of winning.
