 Background
She is a strange mixture of
control and chaos. She is very competent on the job. She's easy going
so she makes friends easily, though she can be hard to get to know. She
has to be drawn out. But with the right person its easy to do. She has
an affinity for Earth music - Particularly 1980s music. She is always
honest about herself and her life and does not hide any of it from people.
She doesn't see the point in doing so. She loves to lose herself in music
and she likes to drink when the opportunity arises. The friends she does
make, she holds them dear to her as family. If they are in trouble she
will do anything in her power to help them.
She was born on the Trill homeworld. Her mother, though loved her, was
distant. On many occasions her mother told her of the destruction of their
world Tanzaria and Ciara got the impression she never got over the horror.
Because of the telepathic images her mother transmitted to her unintentionally,
Ciara has never visited Tanzaria. When she was 15 years old, her mother
became ill with a blood disease that could not be treated and died. She
watched her mother waste away and was present when she passed. That left
a last impression on Ciara. Several months later, her father, who she
had been close with, could not take living on Trill anymore and moved
them to Earth. On the transit there, Ciara not being in her right mind
became involved with a young man she had no interest in. It went farther
than she could handle and came close to a breakdown.
Once on Earth, her father put
her in counseling as well as himself and she began to excell in school.
After some consideration, she decided that she wanted to join Starfleet,
against her father's wishes, who wanted her to stay with him on Earth,
settle down there, marry and have children. He did not like the idea of
the possibility of losing his daughter in deep space. She had one serious
relationship while at the Academy. He was the perfect man that her father
wanted for her. He asked her to marry him and she turned him down. She
wanted a life in Starfleet. Upon her graduation, she was given her first
assignment to the USS Albion. Her aptitude was in medical and science
and she was assigned as assistant Medical Officer. She served there until
her transfer to the Ronin A. She has not talked with her father since
the day she graduated.
