Weapon and Armor Proficiency:
A bladesinger can use light and medium armors. All medium armors MUST be of elven origin to be used, as any other type of armor is deemed to heavy for the art of Bladesong. The Bladesinger is proficient in all simple and martial weapons of medium size or smaller. The badesinger gets a +1 To attack if using the preferred weapons of his class. Those weapons are: Rapier, Long sword, Short sword, and Scimitar.
Special class skills:
Bladesong: Dedicated elf warriors take their craft seriously enough to have created an uniquely elven fighting style. Unlike the martial arts of the other races, the elven fighting style, also known as bladesong, emphasizes beauty and economy of movement over the sheer destructive power of strength. However, Bladesong is deceptively dangerous for all its seemingly gentleness and apparent grace.
Bladesong is so named for several reasons. The first and most obvious reason is because of the whistling of the blade as it slices through the air when this style is used. The second is the haunting, wordless tune many of its praticioners sing as they fight.
Those who practice bladesong appear as if they are dancing when they fight. Their movements seem misleadingly slow and elegant, deflecting opponents blades while lazily drifting back to score hits themselves. The technique requires, above all, misdirection and subtlety. The bladesingers do not believe in smashing blows or strong crushing offense, but rather in guiding their opponents to anticipate a different attack entirely, thus overbalancing their foe and making him seem clumsy.
To take advantage of bladesong, the elf must use his preferred weapon. Those weapons are: Rapier, Long and Short Swords, and Scimitar. No other weapon can be used to gain the benefits of bladesong.
Benefits include: Bonuses to AC and/or attack, and One Handed Spell casting.
One Handed Spell Casting: Pre-Resequite: Combat Casting. This feat enables you to be able to cast spells one handed during combat while performing bladesong. The spells cast during this feat still allow attacks of opportunity. They take the same amount of time that a normal spell would take, but you can still hold a weapon in hand. A Bladesinger can start using this skill at 3rd level.
A bladesinger is so adept at casting spells during combat, that he is better at casting in armor, and this ignored the first 20% of Arcane Spell failure for wearing armor. He gets this ability at 7th level.
A bladesinger also knows Alchemy. This is due to thier resource base of the wilds. Always on the run, they know all sorts of Alchemical brews and concoctions. This also includes herbs. They have learned to take what they can from the land and put it to good use. They have limited magical supplies, so they have no magic items to speak of, except for thier alchemical creations.
