SESSION 6

Formulating a plan, the party moved into the doorway of the room.  Denal moved up to the orcs and attempted to take out as many as possible.  He drew back and grabbed the first orc and slit the orc's throat, killing it.  Smiling, he moved to the next orc.  Just as quick, and as silent, he killed that one.  He moved to the third one and raised up his blade to strike, when the wetness of the orcs blood on his hands made the weapon slip from his hands.  It skittered on the ground behind the orcs, who were still obivious to the elf.  Denal dropped to the ground thinking the orcs had heard hima dn gave the party arrow shots.

The orcs continued to work the pile of rubble.   One of the orcs turned to his fallen comrade and told him in orcish to stop laying down on the job and get up and help.  Denal breathed a sigh of relief and picked up his weapon.  He got up and went to the nearest orc for yet another attempt at backstab.  He grabbed the orc and trust.  This time, he did not kill it quick enough and it cried out in pain.  The other orcs turned to see him.  Anson and the rest fired arrows into the orcs that were not engaged.  Denal quickly finished his job on the orc and ended the battle.

The party, being unscathed from that battle, continued on with no rest.  The continued to map the dungeon, looking for a purpous.   Denal, the resident map maker, though good, could not make heads or tails with what they've found already.  "Gotta be gnomes that built this place" he commented to himself.  The party came upon another cave-in and heard scraping from behind the cave-in.  Denal looked at Talgor and smiled.  Talgor understood what was implied and cried out in Orcish:  "Hurry up! my slaves and I are trapped over here!"   The reply came back in common:  "We're goin as fast as we's can boss."

The group looked at one another astonished.   They started digging from thier side to help along, waiting for the opportunity to kill what ever was on the other side.  As a hole started to open up, the party stopped digging.  Talgor moved to the front and continued to talk in orcish to get whoever was behind the rocks to move faster.  The opening got bigger, enough so that a medium sized person could get through with little difficulty.  The party noticed two very large creatures moving the boulders to clear the doorway out.  Talgor climbed up the rocks enough to get a hand through and said: "Help me through."   Once one of the big creatures grapped his hand he cast an inflict woulds on it.   The Ogre yelped in pain and stumbled back.

Talgor moved back to let the others get in with bows and such.  One of the Ogres tossed a rock through the opening and bonked Talgor on the head.  Crossbow bolts and arrows flew hitting the ogre.  Denal pulled out two tanglefoot bags and tossed them.  One Ogre was thouroghly entangled and dropped to the ground.  The other got caught slightly and could still moved a bit.   Denal said, "Let's go!" and dove through the opening.  He dove in hoping to roll and come up and whack the creature, but instead slipped on the rocks and fell on his back, looking up at the Ogre.  The Ogre picked up his club and brought it down on the elf, caving in his chest.  The elf passed out from the immense pain.   The monk followed through the hole trying to do the same thing as the elf and also fell, only to land right next to the dying elf.  The ogre said, "Lookie, new target."…

Anson crept through the hole and drew his sword and sliced the ogre's head off before it could act.  he motioned for Talgor to come in and help the elf as he was bleeding to death.  The rest of the groupd came in and proceeded to hack the tangled Ogre to bits.  They rested in this room, getting healing and spells.  Arik suggested that they block the doorway with the dead Ogre, making it look like the rock slide did him in.  Early in the morning Blizzit was awaken by the sounds of scraping.  He nudged Garen up and he woke the others quickly and quietly.  They set up a quick ambush and waited.

The Ogre's body was pulled through to the other side of the door and an orc poked his head through the opening.  Agatsu fired his crossbow into the orc, skewering it's brain.  Thinking it dead, they waited.   The body started moving forward.  Talgor hear in orcish, "What'ya stop fer?  Keep moving!"  The orc was shoved through the opening and another orc poked his head through.  Anson conviently cut it off.

With the morning here, and them being awake now, they gathered thier things and moved on.  They hugged the wall and continued moving north.  The passed through a couple rooms with very large beds in them, and a weapons room with large weapons.  They counted 11 large beds that were unaccounted for as far as the Ogre's they've encountered were concerned.  They moved on and found a small room with two large double doors in it.  Denal looked at Anson with a worried look on his face.  He cautiously moved to the doors and found them unlocked, no large chains, nothing.  He creaked upen the door and noticed a small corridor.   Flinging the door open wide, he muttered something about that he wanted to find the gnome who built this place and strangle him.

The party conitinued down a long corridor and found a couple of identical doors.  They moved on a bit more just for mapping purpouses and found a room at the end of the hallway.  They entered it and saw a cabinet, chairs, table, and bed in the room.  Anson and talgor started searching the table, where many papers lie.  They found maps of the area, some scrolls, etc. etc.   Talgor opened up one and found this.  He read it to the group.  They decided to send Garen and Blizzit back to town with a copy of the note, directions to this place in hopes that the mayor could do something about it.

Denal waved his hands around, casting a spell.   The cabinet looked as f it was glowing.  He pulled out his lockpicks and picked the lock on the cabinet.  Denal opened the cabinet and saw a gleeming set of half-plate, and a dagger.  He told the group they were magical.  Anson took the half-plate as no one else really could wear it and he put it on.  Denal took the dagger and kept that for himself.  Anson placed his old scale mail in the cabinet and closed it up.  The party tried once more to find more and came up empty.

They moved on, feeling a bit better.  The group came upon another room, this time it had just a bod and chair and table in it.   Along one wall was 5 chests.  Inside the chests was over 1,200 gold!   Arik mentioned that they must have stumbled upon the orc's treasury.  They loaded up what they could and moved on.  They came back to the two indentical doors.   Inside each room were weapon racks.  One of the rooms had ranged weapons.   Denal used up his last Detect Magic spell, and found two bows, one a crossbow, being magical.  They disabled the rest.

The party continued further along, finding a large room with over 50 beds in it.  Several orcs were putting on armor and grabbing weapons, apparently seeming as if they were late for something.  The party moved in and set up positions at the door and proceeded to fire upon the orcs.  The orcs, without ranged weapons had to move in. None could charge because of all the beds in the way.  The party easilly cut these orcs down.  One orc had got caught up on one of the beds and fumbled around with it.  Once he got himself free, he found most of his comrads were dead so he tried to run.  Anson skewered him from range.  The party healed what little was needed and rested a bit.
