The RP/FF Zodiac Story
Battle 5: Cellar of Sand Mouse
Party; 1st Group: X (Squire), Gravija (Knight), Delita (Squire)
2nd Group: Enigma (Time Mage), CrimsonScythe (Geomancer), Algus (Knight)
The first group stands outside what remains of a small old fort. There's not a pile of blocks that make up the fort standing more than 4 or 5 blocks high. Thus, it's easy to see the inside from the slightly elevated terrain outside. The second group stands outside the adjacent end, where the doorway is. X quickly assesses the situation and gives his command.
"Okay, let's dispatch the guard before those inside hear!!"
The guard as X calls it, is made up of thre knights, two monks and one archer. Or, as that translates in X's mind, "not much to deal with."
"All right Grav and Delita, let's move over to the others. We should move as a team."
"No way X, we should flank them, and catch them in a pincer attack!"
X sighs, annoyed by Delita's obstinance, but, "Fine. Grav, stay here with Delita." X runs around the perimeter and joins Crimson's group. Algus has already moved in, but finds the doorway blocked by a knight. So, he strikes, landing the first blow of the battle.
"Layer upon layer, make your mark! Haste!!"
Roman numerals swirl about X and Enigma, placing them in a faster stream of time. Crimson stands beside the doorway, gathering his strength. X gets on the other side and does the same. Algus is having problems as two knights keep swapping places, with the standby knight receiving a potion from the third. But enough of this side...
"Delita, watch out!"
Delita looks up from a slight skirmish with a monk to notice and arrow headed straight for his side. It bites into flesh, causing him to kneel. Gravija finishes off the monk Delita was working on, and gets in the doorway, hoping to kill the archer before he can fire another shot. Another monk stands in front of the archer as a guard. That plan is abruptly cut down when X runs up from behind and strikes the archer into the critical. Gravija looks over to the other doorway and sees one dead knight, and two slightly wounded ones.
"How did you-"
"We rushed 'em. Aglus took the brunt of the counterattack, Enigma's seeing to him with a Hi-Potion. Crimson's dealing with the leftovers. Go help him, would you?"
The monk that made a bodyguard attempt has made his way to the distracted squire and punches him in the ribs. A greatly weakened X makes a tactical retreat for the door, leaving Gravija to cut down the archer, and await attack from the monk. Getting back to the main force...
"Ugh, if only my elemental powers worked here..."
Crimson's having a hard time keeping two knights at bay without his geomancy. All he has is his Long Sword, but he swings on. Out of nowhere though, one of the knights falls, revealing the healed Algus from behind. Switching to the other side...
"Relax X, I've gotcha..."
"No, Delita, don't! You've barely enough power yourself!"
"This is no big sacrifice. Just balance it out with your own Wish."
Delita pays X no attention, using Wish to heal X at the price of falling near fatal. X returns the favor, equalizing the HP between them. Enigma's moving in as fast as he can, in order to use more practical methods of healing.
"X, catch!"
X catches the vial of Potion and chugs it down before moving in for another crack at the monk. Algus and Crimson have killed off the last knight and block the monk's potential retreat path.
"Game over friend. Game over."
X stabs the monk through, ending the battle.
"Took longer than I thought..."
