Maggie kept Ken with her for a couple of weeks while helping to ease his transition from life to undeath and helping him learn a little bit about disciplines.  She made it clear to Ken that he could not return to Philadelphia for some time, for it would be too dangerous.  Maggie herself did not know the weight of her words, because little did she know that she was being followed by an unidentified individual with obfuscate.  One night she had decided to introduce Ken to her coterie.  She was a member of a recon coterie for the Camarilla; spying on the Sabbat's presence in Philadelphia.  Before she got a chance to officially present Halo, the entire coterie was ambushed by a large pack of vicious vampires.  Ken was the only survivor of the incident, as roschtreck and confusion caused him to be the first to run.  The only thing he remembered other than the embarassing sense of panic was a bald man with a giant tattoo of a black hand on his head.

He immediately fled Pennsylvania and ended up in Maryland, but kept in touch with his high school friend and employee, Tafari Dennis.  Tafari would run D-Sign for Ken and wire Ken money when needed.  He found his way to Baltimore, and little did he know that Baltimore was Sabbat run now.  He bumped into a Pander who offered to see about giving him his creation rites, whatever the hell that was, and then show him his collection of eyes.  Then eyes of people that looked at him wrong.  Ken replied that he would like to get a bite to eat first and then left Baltimore with all the
celerity he could muster, and ended up in Annapolis.  In Annapolis, he bumped into a female who only identified herself as Caitiff, who told Ken of a Ventrue that she worked for in Glen Burnie. And so began Ken Halo's unlife in Maryland.
