TEMPORARILY CLOSED WHILE ORGANIZING & LOOKING FOR NEW GAMERS
WELCOME!
Welcome to the world of Avanol!
This rpg is set on the world of Avanol. The 'known' lands comprise of 7 continents. See our map. This is just the part of the planet currently explored. There are other lands not known by the historians of Avanol so different lands and cultures and background stories can be used in the rpg. But please familiarize yourself with 'our' lands and customs. The best way to get a feel for this RPG is to read from our timeline. It has some old quest logs along with the new. They will show you our method of questing and freeform. Also check out the Player's Guide. Come to the chat room on www.ChatFirst.com and get to know the characters already there (you don't have to be registered to visit #RPGWayward_Inn on chatfirst).

Message Board
With our new message board things have changed alot!! No longer do you have to wait till someone is in the Inn to roleplay! You can now go to 'Avanolrpg'(bavanolrpg) on www.ezboard.com and post to gain experience, heal and gain back HP, or learn new skills. Follow the link to read more about it!!

RULES:
We don't want to have alot of rules, but a few have to be maintained for fairness.

We don't allow murders at the Inn. Deaths can happen by losing all your HP in a quest (or at the Inn), or by GM monitored deathmatches. Fighting is going to happen from time to time we know, but at the Inn fighting is done turn based. That means you can't just walk up to someone and beat the heck out of them. We call them spars, where you type your attack and the other is allowed to reply. (Any and all weapons that a person has can be used, so knowing your opponent is good.) It is basically an honor based system and if someone abuses it, the ole warn/kick/ban rule applies. Rudeness, vulgarity and profanity will be warned, kicked, then banned.

SUBMITTING A CHARACTER:
When you submit a character, it will be evaluated by our staff/GMs for the following:
ORIGINALITY: The whole point of RPGs is to create new characters, so any ready-made characters, like off video games, will be rejected.
DESCRIPTION: a good description so the staff/GMs can assign a hit die (HD) and a magic die (MD) ie: (d4, d6, d8 etc). When you gain a level, that die will be rolled to determine your additional HP and MP (avg of 3 rolls).
LEVEL: an established character can start at level 3 (or higher) with the approval of a GM. This is for ESTABLISHED characters so we expect you to have experience at role playing and be knowledgeable about Avanol. Talk to a GM about starting at level 3 or higher.

PLEASE complete the whole form! If submission is received, you will receive an email confirmation from Ez within two days.

Each new character will be given 500 gold to start. You can use this to buy your starting weapons (or anything else).

Classes and sub-classes
a. warriors include dragoons, knights, etc., have strength and battle prowness, low magic ability. (lv 1) 35HP 5MP (lv 2) 60HP 10MP (lv 3) 80HP 20MP
b. rogues are the thieves, assassins, etc., they have great dexerity, agility and cunning with a fair ability with magic. (lv 1) 25HP 15MP (lv 2) 50HP 20MP (lv 3) 70HP 30MP
c. mages are weak physically but not mentally. (lv 1) 10HP 30MP (lv 2)15HP 55MP (lv 3)25HP 75MP

HP and MP is not automatically renewed at the end of a quest, spar, etc. What you lose is lost until you get a potion or spell to replenish it, get cured, etc.(**see MSG board) Also, a trip to the Healing Isle, off the coast, replenishes all HP and MP (a good post to the ezboard).

Skills:
In order to sell your skill or products of your skill, you must be a Master. It takes 4 skills to be a master. You can either master in one area + another skill (total 5) or have 5 totally separate skills. Some skills are class specific, so watch what you pick...
For every 5 levels you gain an additional skill of your choice.

Race:
It seems race is the biggest issue that has surfaced so far. There can be any race on Avanol (within reason! Totally evil races like ogres are not good chat room rpg chars). Humans compromise the majority of the population with elves, dwarves and orcs being next most populace. Think about your size if you are entering the Inn, as it is a normal sized establishment. Shapeshifters and were-beings are allowed, but cannot quest as such till level 10. Vampires are not a race, but a curse...and can be hunted. Vampires are discouraged.

Races will have some natural inherent abilities. Humans will get an additional 10HP for their strength. Elves have better hearing and vision (but not night vision unless a drow). Dwarves will get an additional 10HP and have night vision. Some inherent abilities they do NOT have, such as magic or the ability to fly (except winged races) or mindreading (one of the biggest mistakes in chat, you can't know what someone 'thought'!!)...likewise, some races have attributes that are common to the race ie: drows have dark skin and white hair. If you do not want these attributes, give us a good explanation why your character doesn't have them, or pick another race!...please, let's keep this within bounds....

We accept that new people coming from other chat rpgs might not understand our rules and ways so we will try to be patient for a few visits. :)

We do not have royalty or any ruling class in Avanol. Self-proclaimed 'Lords' of an area are just that...self-proclaimed...and not considered special.

**Dragons are very appealing to people, but know that a dragon's human form has to abide by levels the same as everyone else. Their human form starts at level 1 and they are not all-powerful!! There are NO advantages to being a dragon except you can fly in your posts :) A dragon can change form into a human just for the fact they have to have a form that they can bring into the Inn and quest with. A dragon may not quest as such until level 10. They are just too powerful.
Non-dragon characters can get a special 'something' when they reach level 10. Talk to a GM when you get close.

***Please keep track of all your characters attributes, weapons and their damage, items and gold. The GM's will have a record, but if YOU dont know, you lose it.
