He travels back in time to warn Goku and friends about the attack and gives Goku medicine to prevent his heart disease from killing him. He reaches USSJ in the HBTC when he trains with Vegeta but relizes that its a fatal form. He is killed by Perfect Cell during the Cell Games but is later revived by the eternal dragon.
