WeyrLeader's Office

The WeyrLeader’s office is located at the Northern tip of the Weyr Bowl, just to the left of WeyrWoman Bredawn’s. Both offices are located on the Ground Level of the Weyr, with stairs framing the outside of the offices, leading up to the personal weyrs of the WeyrLeaders. WL's office is spacious – just not as large as his WW’s. The first room upon entering is a waiting area with couches and a klah table. There are framed drawings up on the wall from former WL A'hur’s personal collection.

There are two other doors leading out of the waiting area. The first is a conference room, through which there is entrance to the WW's office. The other door leads to WL's private office - most of his time is spent here. He has maps of the Weyr, Threadfall charts, and Pernese maps hanging on the wall. He also has bookshelf containing hidebound books with information for each of the wings and their riders. Just ask him what wing someone is in – he’ll find that information out for you.

The stairs in the back corner of the office lead up to the WL's personal weyr and the weyr of his dragon. His room is richly decorated by the sheer force of the HW of Igen. Most WL's don’t have many personal belongings when they arrived and many leave it to the HWomen with a couple of directions.

The first room is just a foyer for hanging cloaks and the like upon hooks adorning the wall. This opens into a circular living room. Going down two steps, the living room contains two couches and a couple of fluffy chairs – both covered with pillows. Off to the right side of the room, is a table that would seat eight for a cozy meal.

The walls were hung with thick tapestries depicting many scenes from a dragonriders life. They were woven with vibrant colors and are reflected in the pillows on the couch and the rugs spread about the floor.

Through a doorway on the eastern side of the living room is a spacious office that has more Threadfall charts and Pernese maps depicting the territories of the Weyrs. He also has a detailed one of Igen’s territories. There is a painting of former WL A'hur and Reliath. The artist had a keen eye catching the spunk that was in both rider and dragon but couched with the sensitivity that tempers it all. It is hung over a chair that is placed in the room. One that doesn’t get used much since Bredawn doesn’t enter this room. The door remains shut but unlocked. He would never bar his door to her but understands why she feels the need.

The western doorway from the living room (opposite his office door), leads to the WL’s bedroom. The HW decided that he needed a bed that made a statement. It was large with four posters that reached towards the ceiling and the small chandelier that hung down. (Hanging on the wall was the special candlelighter and snuffer that he used whenever he wants to bother with it – otherwise he just uses a glow basket). Plush carpets line the floor. Two tall wardrobes stand off to one side and a couple of chests line the other. Between the wardrobes stands a door. Through this door is the WLs private bath. It is big enough for two. There is a hanger that displays two towels at a time but more are kept in a basket set upon the floor under a shelf that contains body soaps and bath salts in various scents. The flooring lining the edges (with the exception of the steps) are filled with candles of every shape and size.

The third and final door leading off the living room (opposite the stair) leads out to the room containing a bronze’s stone couch and his strap hooks. However, before going through this door is a table and stool that is hidden from view by a screen. It is at this table that the WL does many of the minor repairs on his dragon’s straps. Walking through this room and around a corner that breaks most of the wind and sand, the weyrledge from which WL can (and does) watch the comings and goings of the Weyr.
