Just then a great serpentlike dragon came gnawing around the root. Af first it didn't look that big to Mr. Grimm, but when he realized the size of Yggdrasil's roots the true size of the beast registered in his mind. It paused in mid gnaw and sniffed at the air. Then it turned toward the flying pair and seemed to be looking right at them.
"I think the beast has our scent." quavered Olaf in terror. "Perhaps we should flee and try again another time."

He looked at his hostess, who sat at the head of the table. Hela still refused to let him out, not that he was surprised. He sighed into his food again.
(voice off-screen): WHERE IN THE WORLD AM I NOW!?!?!
*CRASH*
As the Watcher looked up, two figures barged into the room. One was a young boy with a bandanna, and the other a blond girl. They were handcuffed to each other.
Hela stood up in confusion and outrage.
Hela: How did you get into my realm without my leave!?
Ryouga: *blinks* Um... where is this? Can you tell me the way to this place? *holds up picture*
Mihoshi: *looks at Watcher* Oh! I know you!
Watcher: *surprised* You do?
Mihoshi: Here. This is for you. From the nice lady. *shoves a small package into Watcher's hand.
Hela: *looks at pic* How dare you mock me!! *starts shooting divine blasts at Ryouga*
Ryouga: Ack!! *dodges*
With that Ryouga grabbed Mihoshi and ran off, right into the wall. He continued through the wall, leaving a human-shaped hole. Hela ran after them, throwing energy blasts. The Watcher stared after them, blinked in bewilderment, then looked at the small package in his hand. Hope flared within his heart.

Good. Assessment of possible threat while traveling the astral plane: minimal.
He took a moment, glancing towards the readout flashing on the inside of his forearm. It seemed PunisherRamz's (you need to find him a better code name, dude) tracker was still functional. He was on the move, and moving quickly - but not so fast that he couldn't be caught. Not when the person tracking him could cross continents within the blink of an eye.
Incompetent little fool. I can't believe you had gotten yourself stuck in this... place... without access to any dimensional crossing technology. While you knew you were still on Company payroll.
Or simply making the leader of their world's anti-terrorist program personally take on a rescue mission......... no that anyone knew that. To everyone involved, Mr. X was simply "April Walker", a field operative fresh from the West Point military academy. The wonders of holographic imagery & voice-alteration technology.
The man looked down for a moment, the receiver starting to emit a steady pulse. PunisherRamz was in the area. And very, very close. He punched in the code, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, which caused the subdermal chip on the back of the free agent's neck begin to glow.
A curious warning had befallen the ninja/punisher. He furiously began to search the area, still within hiding as his Jedi training alert him..... to the presence of another. He muttered to himself, "I feel a disturbance in The Force."
Don't be such a nerd.
'April' spoke from her place above, hands thrusting out from the astral plane. 'She' quickly grabbed hold of PunisherRamz, taking his body into the high dimension, which shouldn't have been possible - even for some of the greatest tekepathic minds in the multiverse. Oh well.
You're needed. The Company orders you to accompany me on a rescue mission for Agent Shadowstalker. He's in the Star Wars universe.
PunisherRamz's eyes went from frustration to a dreamy gaze as his mind wandered the possibilities of what visiting Star Wars meant. "Lightsabers?" came the words of hope.
As many as you want, even a double sided one. If you like, I'll even get you Palpatine's cloak. Or Boba Fett's costume.
PunisherRamz grinned in excitement, "Let's do this." Rescue some moron. Get a few lightsabers. And become.......... The Fett. It's going to be a good day.
Written by Ramz 04-19-2002 09:54 AM
"Where shale we start? Find Shadow, or get my gear?"
April: We'll go get you're gear first, then we'll get shadow. What good will you're sword be here anyway? You need a light saber chief.
"Yes, that’s true..... Then let’s go, have you found Boba Fett's location? Or shale I look for him with the force?"
April: Dude, you know you can't search the whooole galaxy with the force, so don’t be cocky.
"DAMN YOU! agh, fine, use you're damn computer."
April: Alright...... April typing away Ok, I've found him. He's not too far off on a planet called "Desconta" Ill drop you're ass off, and wait in the ship, don't take to long.
"There is no need to drop me of...*The Fett vanishes*
April: Alright, didn't know he could do that...
(Note: Ill use the name Ramz, instead of Fett for this part to save us some confusion.)
On the planet Desconta, Ramz, using a mixture of his powers, the Force to locate him, and his charm to teleport to wherever Boba Fett is, transports on a room in his ship. While stalking him from a distance, Ramz creeps up as silent as the force, and his best stealth charms would allow. Boba Fett, not exactly the type to be taken by surprise, turns swiftly around, blaster in hand. But to Boba's surprise, he sees no one? With a charm cast, Not only is Ramz near invisible, but his power is also blocking people from acknowledging his existence. While he creeps up for the strike, Ramz smiles and thinks to himself: "this was no fight, this was a slaughter."

On the bridge of the Andromeda, Jaffa ran through the sensors to make sure everything was in order. Genma sat nearby, fiddling with a small device. Rommie stood behind where Tanith sat in the pilot seat, calm as always.
Rommie: *cocks head* I have received a signal from our... infiltration team. It seems that they have completely their secondary objective and made it past Hela.
Tanith: *taking off the VR goggles* Already? That was fast.
Genma: I'd expected P-chan to be lost for longer.
Jaffa: *frowns* This will push up our time table.
Tanith: Ah well. Can't be helped. We're almost done with the list anyway. *holds up list that Belldandy wrote*
Genma: Don't you think all that stuff is kinda overkill?
Jaffa: Better than the alternative.
Tanith: I doubt we'll be using all of it anyway. But it never hurts to be prepared.
Rommie: *pause* The others have transported down.
Tanith: Then let's go!
With that, the trio beamed down to the planet surface. Soon, they will face their true foe...

For some strange reason, the Empire has been losing contact with its Star Destroyers and heavy weapons platforms of late. It has even lost some of its Death Stars and other "special" war vessels.
The Empire has immediately begun investigating this occurrence of course, but have been unable to determine the cause. Always, the disappearance would occur without any warnings or distress signals. Even the Sith lords are disturbed by this trend. They could sense a great disturbance in the Force, but could perceive no further than that either in time nor in distance.
As the Empire's concern grew, it began to expend more and more of its resources to track down this menance to no avail, for they still had little idea from whence it comes. The pattern of destruction was random. Chaotic. And utterly unpredictable. And yet, the bewildered Empire continue to press on.

The Meddler sat in his throne room consulting with his military advisors. It was only a matter of time before the Twilight Sword overcame Thor's resistance and tore the Odinpower from him, and the Meddler was already planning his next conquest. Once he obtained the Odinpower, he planned to make Olympus his next target, and to use the Sword on Zeus to take his power. From there he would go from divine realm to divine realm, harvesting the power of the Skyfathers with the artifact at his command.
He was interupted in his planning by the beep of a pager. It was Regent Markul, using the transdimensional transceiver the Meddler have given him. Dismissing his advisors for a break, he projected his Emperor Persona to his subordinate.
Yes Regent, what do you have to report?
"Your majesty, all our efforts to investigate the losses inflicted on Imperial Assets have failed to uncover any information. Even our Sith operatives can not discern the circumstances behind the disappearances. Our analysts conjecture that the remaining Rebels have allied with a being or beings of great power. Perhaps sire, even approaching your own."
The Meddler cursed at this. Here he was at virtually the eve of his latest triumph and the powerbase he thought secure was being undermined by unknown parties. Why must he be plauged with such problems at this stage in his plans?
Very well, Regent. It sounds like our people did everything they could. I suppose this is a matter I'll have to look into for myself. Just put our forces at high alert, ready to scramble at a moments notice. I'll look into this...inconvenience.
And with that, the Meddler ceased his projection, and put his uncanny powers to find his missing ships, or their remains.

As his creature through endless blasts of green energy effortlessly at his opponent, the man flew in low behind him, ready to make skin to skin contact.
M-Manuel had no time to react, as he was almost bathed in green fire, as BlackWarMewtwo made physical contact, and the power suck started.
Unfortunately, the contact also happened to knock the both of them off the casino, plummeting to their doom. BlackWarMewtwo couldn't fly while he was power sucking, and M-Manuel had no power to stop their descent.

Deep in the heart of the Andromeda, the AI Mind worked feverishly to operate one of its newest installations. Using adaptations from magic and reality-altering tech, it began to carefully alter the fabric of reality. Carefully so as not to arouse any suspicion, she began to work at the barrier leading to Asgard.
It was almost time.
Somewhere, out in the cosmos.... a force brewed.
The force of Synchronicity. Of unstoppable Destiny. Of callous Fate. Of fickle Fortune. Of sheer Coincidence.
The force built....
...and then...
Rommie: NOW.
Written by The Watcher 04-21-2002 02:01 AM
Finally, after all their preparations were done, Tanith's point team beamed down to the capital city of Asgard, utilizing special equipments and techniques to avoid their transit from being noticed by any sensors. They picked a part of the city less frequented by the Meddler's forces to avoid being detected once there.
On the surface they could see the Meddler's forces patrol the city, ready for any incursion. The Meddler had put up only a rudimentary illusion to fool those who didn't know the situation. Since they were aware of the truth, their vision easily pierced the veil which their foe had placed.
The impression they got from observing things was that the number of troops stationed seemed to be more than necessary to just occupy the city. It was if a slow but steady buildup was taking place to turn it into a military base from which to stage an invasion from.
Now in the midst of enemy territory, the team made their way cautiously to their first objective, taking care to avoid being discovered. The last thing they wanted was the Meddler's attention at this stage in their plans.

Meanwhile, just outside the small breach to Asgard, the Andromeda AI counted off the time. Soon, she will initiate the second part of her contribution to the plans. Hopefully, the Meddler and his forces could be distracted long enough for the team to accomplish their goal.
Checking over the cyogenic units in her infirmary and cargo bays, the Andromeda waited.
In the meantime, the paths of Syncronicity stirred... and began to converge again.
***
Meanwhile....
Ryouga and Mihoshi walked on. They were now in the middle of a forest, after having escaped a rampaging Hela. So far, they'd only encountered a few fuzzy-bear like creatures. Mihoshi thought they were cute, until they tried to attack and eat the two travelers. Ryouga then let loose his Shi Shi Hokodan, which left them in the middle of a smoking crater...
And now, after much walking, they still didn't seem to have gotten near their target... wherever it was. Finally, in frustration, Ryouga threw back his head and yelled:
Ryouga: WHERE IN THE SPACE TIME CONTINUUM AM I NOW!!!!!
A little distance off, the remaining members of the Ewok village were startled by the loud noise.

In Asgard, the myriad forces of the Watcher were totally taken by surprise when several highly chaotic and seemingly random rifts ripped throught the space time continuum. Flotillas of advanced alien spacecraft swarmed out of the rifts and began attacking everything in sight.
Soon the Imperial forces were locked in a bitter struggle for aerial superiority. The only reason they were not overwhelmed out of hand was because the various forces spent as much of their time attacking each other as the neo-Asgardians. However, this melee only added even more chaos to the situation.
At the same time, reports swarmed in to every Imperial command center of monsters that roamed the Asgardian streets, having seemingly appeared out of nowhere. While most of them could be killed by vast firepower, some had proved resistant to all attacks. These creatures spread chaos among the ground forces and facilities whereever they went. v -------------------------------------
Meanwhile, as chaos raged in Asgard, two small parties made their way toward the sanctum of the Meddler. One operated in complete secrecy. The other in complete ignorance.

Tanith smiled. "Being able to search the multiverse for equipment has it's uses."
"Should I even ask what those creatures are?"

Meanwhile, security at the Asgardian Palace went on high alert, as the troops and automatic defense systems in place readied themselves for any attack on their Empreror's domicile and command center.

Tanith: *cough* Khazan has some really funky facilities... I just ordered several armadas from various rpgs, tv shows, etc. to go. I didn't really get a good look at the list, since we were in a hurry... but I did get a nice deal on it.
Nobody: You don't know *any* of those ships up there?
Tanith: Err... well, I think I saw the Yamoto up there somewhere...
Genma: You brought Justy Tylor into this!?!?! Oh man!!
Z-man: What about the ground forces?
Tanith: I think I depleted the entire Dark Kingdom of Sailor Moon fame... and there's a couple of drows here and there, along with a few batches of orc and uruk hai... a few of them ugly critters from Aliens... or maybe they were Zerglings from Starcraft, I forget... and a buncha others too.
Jaffa: *shakes head in disbelief* Nevermind, we're almost there to the central command. Time to try out those new thingys you got. v With that he activated a small device that seemed like an amalgam of a tech device and a magical artifact. A small field expanded from the device and merged with Jaffa's invisiblity field. With it, the group walked right through the walls of the Asgardian compound, bypassing the sentried doorways completely. They quickened their pace toward their goal.... just in case they were detected despite their precautions
***
Meanwhile, Thor still lay in agony with the Twilight Sword inside him. He concentrated his entire being into resisting the pull fo the sword. He almost lost that concentration when a sudden voice intruded upon his thoughts. v (female voice): Helloooooo! Anybody here?
(male voice): AAARRRGGH! Where are we now?!?!?!
The Thunderer raised his head weakly, and was met by the incongruous sight of two young mortals stumbling into the room. One was a bandanna'ed boy, the other a blond girl. The two looked around, until the girl spied the ailing Thunder god.
Mihoshi: Oh! I know you! You're the other person I was suppose to give this thingy to!
With that, she held out a small device an pressed into Thor's unresisting hand. Ryouga stared at the sword plunged into the thunder god's side, and reached out to pull it out. The moment his hand made contact with the hilt, however, the sword blasted him through the door of the room. Since their hands were tied, Mihoshi was dragged along for the ride.
Mihoshi: AAAHHH!!!
*CRASH*
Ryouga: (outside) Where did he go? This way? *CRASH* *CRASH*
Slowly, the voices of the two intruders faded away, as Ryouga lived up to his nickname as the Lost Boy. Thor was left alone again, helpless to do anything but concentrate his will upon the Twilight Sword.
Written by Jaffa 04-21-2002 10:26 PM
"What is it?" Genma asked.
"Two people speaking. A man and a woman."
"Nevertheless, we can't stop now", Tanith said. "Let's continue."
Jaffa nodded. "Perhaps we should head for the voices... at least check out what it was."
Written by The Watcher 04-21-2002 10:30 PM
It must have been a false alarm, he thought to himself. Still, it would be prudent to send a detachment of Stormtroopers to check out the area for any intruders, as a precautionary measure. He snapped an order to his head of security and then went back to expelling the enemy forces.
Written by Tanith 04-21-2002 10:44 PM
Wait... their mission... in Asgard... those voices... Ryouga of the massive property damage
Tanith: *eyes widening* Oh no.
Ryouga: (off in the next corridor) Yo! Do you guys know how to get to this place? *holds up picture to approaching stormtroopers*
Mihoshi: Hello misters armor-- WHOA!!
Immediately, the stormtroopers opened fire on the two, who only managed to survive by their incredible Luck(TM). However, in trying to get away from the shooters, Ryouga knocked a hole into the next corridor, allowing the shots to head toward Jaffa's field.
Immediately, the five supers retaliated. And within seconds, the stormtroopers were all out like lights. In the chaos, Ryouga and Mihoshi had disappeared.
However, with their presence revealed, it would only be a matter of time before their true enemy came to investigate the odd hole in his perceptions. The team moved on even faster, hoping to outrace their foe's reactions.
Written by The Watcher 04-21-2002 10:53 PM
Stormtrooper: You there! Hands on your head and don't move!
Squadleader on comm set: Your majesty, we've discovered two intruders in the area near the prisoner. Informing you as ordered. Will escort them to detention center.
Suddenly, without warning, his Emperor was behind him. Just beyond, one of his famous gates closed shut.
No need for that, squadleader. I'll deal with these intruders personally.
He turned to the two teens and looked at them in his most intimidating manner
Who are you, and why do you dare trespass on my domain?

Mihoshi: Hey! You look just like that other guy! Except with the beard.
Ryouga gulped. His martial artist danger senses (still formidable if not Ranma's level) were screaming at him. Thrusting a finger at the floor, he cried out "Bakusai Tenketsu", sending shards of the ground everywhere.
Immediately, the stormtroopers opened fire. By the time the dust died down, the two teens were nowhere to be seen. Frowning, the Meddler focused his clairsentience, but was only able to see the two against a background of chaotic static.
Frowning even further, the Meddler switched tactics. He began to extend his awareness outwards from around him, looking for anomalies. He found one, a seemingly blank spot against his Sight. It was moving rapidly toward his sanctum.
Enough was enough, the Meddler decided, and gated himself and the stormtroopers with him to the area in front of the anomaly.
Meanwhile, the five invisible intruders suddenly came to a halt as a gate opened before them. And the Meddler stepped out, followed by the stormtroopers.
The two sides faced each other. One unable to see the other and the other unable to pass by those blocking their way....

Now I'm not sure whether this gadget will let me punch out all the way to Earth, so I'm going to keep things simple and just try to open a gate to Asgard. Once there I'll try opening one to Earth. Then I'll go back and get the others Avengers elsewhere. Are you guys ready?
As The Watcher was just about to push the button and open the gate, he stopped as he saw two winged figures in the distance. Curious, he used his clairsentience to look closer and saw Olaf and "Shyft." Seeing that at least one of them didn't seem to belong here, being dressed in modern clothing and all, he opened a small gate to them, just the size of a window.

Z-man furrowed his brow temporarily. "I see the Meddler isn't very far from us. This is his throne room."

The magically reinforced interphasic field generator sputtered against the onslaught of power, then died. Only Jaffa's and Genma's full concentration on their TK fields kept the small group alive. Unfortunately, this meant that Jaffa had to drop his invisibility field, revealing the team to their opponents' eyes.
While Meddler was still surprised at not seeing his double among them, the five intruders acted. Nobody whipped out several strange looking weapons. Jaffa and Genma immediate started tossing stormtroopers about with their TK. Tanith put said stormtroopers into a light coma. And Z-man immediately tossed out all of his pokeballs, commanding his pokemon to attack. Soon, all of the Meddler's lackeys were out.
Now the team proceeded to attack the Meddler, though it seemed a futile effort. Jaffa had to rely on both his invisibility and TK to both avoid the god-blasts and protect himself from glancing shots. Nobody and Zman used their teleportation to dodge the blasts.
As the Meddler was thus distracted by the melee, however, he did not notice the other two who were less suited to the fight slip away. Grabbing Genma, Tanith took out the scanner device that had blipped earlier and activated a subprogram.
In the small room that held Thor, the device in his limp hands suddenly came to life.
The forces of Synchronicity came to life. The threads of fate tangled, then reweaved themselves.
With a slight distortion, Tanith and Genma disappeared from the throne room.

Outwardly, The Watcher didn't let his recognition show. If this guy was working for the Meddler, he didn't want him to know that he knows. Better to pretend to be taken in and keep an eye on him.

The Watcher pushed the button and immediatly tried to force open a gate to Asgard. The divine barrier around Hela's realm fought his efforts, preventing the gate from opening. But then as improbability grew in the area the barriers between the easy and the nigh impossible began to weaken and dissovle.
Slowly but surely the Watcher's gate appeared. First as a point, but then growing steadily in size until it was large enough for all to pass through. Their way to freedom open, the Watcher and his companions charged through the gate. They emerged at the other end in the capital city of Asgard, finding themselves being greeted by the chaos of all out battle.
Get to the bridge! The gate back to Khazan is still open! I'll get the others from wherever they've been sent!
"To hell with that!" yelled Justice. We're gonna fight our way to the palace and free Thor! You just get the rest of the Avengers and meet us there!"

Meanwhile, taking advantage of the Meddler's surprise, the heroes poured on their attack, wailing away with various blasts and blows. They were actually forcing the Meddler to take the defensive rather than him harrying them with his blasts.
Then the Meddler waved a hand, and the dead and unconcious stormtroopers stood up, their armor animated by the his divine power. Taking aim, they fired at the heroes, forcing them to regroup and turning the tide back in favor of the Meddler.

Reaching into her hyperspace pocket, Tanith pulled out the magical sword Need. With her other hand, she loosed the collar zipper of her gelsuit and pulled out a glowing medallion that hung around her neck.
Tanith: **Are you ready for this?**
Need: **We can only hope. Now hurry up before I lose my nerve.**
Carefully, Tanith took off the medallion and pressed it against Need's pommel, channeling her sorcery into it. The medallion, which was a shard of the Orb of Aldur and shaped by the young god Eriond himself, glowed beneath her power. Slowly, it merged with the hilt of the sword.
Steeling herself and keeping up her connection to the merged medallion, Tanith slowly crossed the blade of the Twilight Sword with Need near its hilt. The medallion's glow slowly extended through the hilt and onto the Twilight Sword. Slowly, the Asgardian blade was forced out from Thor's body, millimeter by millimeter.
Thor gritted his teeth at the pain that coursed through him as the Twilight Sword sought vain purchase against the force pulling it out. Finally, with a tremendous clatter, the Twilight Sword fell to the ground.
Immediately, Tanith press the flat of Need onto Thor's wound and commanded Need to heal it the best it could, while channeling her own healing power into the sword. Soon, Thor's bleeding stopped, and Tanith could only wearily watch the near-unconscious Asgardian for any signs of awareness.

In the throne room, the heroes fought a losing battle against their god-powered foe.....

Near the entrance of the palace, stormtroopers were scattered by the amassed forces of good here to rescue their teammate.

Captain America and Hank Pym were walking swiftly through the mountain pass, while the Vision floated above on look out. Having found themselves trapped on the plane of Jotunheim, Land of the Giants, the trio quickly decided on a course of action. They would try to find one of Yggdrasil's roots and use it to climb back to Asgard. They knew it would likely take a while, but they were determined to escape their prison and rescue their fellow Avengers.
As they marched on, a gate suddenly appeared before them. The trio immediately spread out in case an attacking force of some sort emerged from the portal. But only a single figure emerged from the gate. They immediately recognized him as the one who sent them here, even with his beard shaved off. Springing into action, they moved to incapcitate their foe before he used his divine power against them.
Watcher: Cap, I'm here to...Whoah!
The star spangled shield struck the Watcher's head, knocking him off his feet as it bounced off him then richocheted off a tree back to Cap's hand. It was immediately followed by the now giant fist of Hank Pym smashing him into the ground. Then the Vision swooped down, about to blast him with his solar gem when the Watcher finally managed to get a word in edgewise.
Wait! Guys! I'm here to help! It's me, the Watcher!
Hank: You don't look like the Watcher. You look like that faux Loki that put us here.
Watcher: No really it's me! The guy from the party. I was just using an image inducer. See?
He quickly flipped his image inducer on and then off, to show them that he was indeed who he said he was. The three hesitated at this, waiting to here more.
Look, the guy who put you here is my double, an alternate version of myself. I'm telling the truth.
Cap to the Vision: Does that sound likely to you?
Vision: It is possible. And his voice stress level seems to indicate he's telling the truth. I'd say there's a good chance he is the Watcher.
Captain America offered a hand to the prone Watcher and helped him to his feet.
Cap: Sorry about that. I hope we didn't hurt you too badly.
Watcher: Don't worry. It was a misunderstanding. Happens all the time in your line of work. I'm glad I have Nigh Invulnerability though, otherwise that could have really smarted. Let's just get back to the others.
And with that the four walked through the gate, which then closed behind them.

Suddenly, the two D-travelers heard a low growl behind them, as Thor finally awoke and dragged himself to his feet. With a slight glance around him, the thunder god stumbled (still weakly) over to the fallen Mojnor and grasped it.
Immediately, the room and surrounding corridors were surrounded by a blinding light. When Tanith and Genma finally regained their vision, they found themselves surrounded by unconscious stormtroopers. Gulping, they turned to Thor.
Thor: The Thunderer extends much gratitude to thee, fellow warriors. But I must now seek the foul cretin who had brought this outrage unto Asgard. Knowest thou where the other deizens of Asgard are held?
Tanith: *thinking fast* Um... I'm not sure, but when your Avenger friends came by, they were sent to hell....
Thor: What sayest thou!?! The warlock who weilds the power of traitorous Loki has slain my earthly comrades!?
Genma: *catching on* Errr... we think so... but it's not like we have the power to get the truth outta him.
The two teens watched Thor's face darken as rage suffused the thunder god. Unconsciously, they both stepped back from the raging god.
Thor: Foul Villain!! HAVE AT THEE!!!
And with that loud cry, Thor burst out of the room, through the various corridors and straight for the throne room. Tanith and Genma exchanged a glance, then quickly ran after the departing Asgardian.

I don't know what possessed you to come here and challenge me, but now I will fully demonstrate the error of that decision.
The Meddler backhands Jaffa, sending him flying across the room. If not for his telekinetic forcefield, the young Fin would have been instantly killed by the blow. As it was, he lay dazed on the floor, trying to regain his bearings and remain conscious.
I'm not some mere sorceress like the Temptress, dependant on scraps from Dark Powers, ruling a tiny domain! I wield the might of a god, do you hear me! Might I gained by my own hand!
With a blast from his hand, the Meddler blows up the ground under Nobody, sending shards of rock flying everywhere. Nobody, though gravely wounded, rolls to his feet as his healing factor works to keep him alive.
Your interference has cost me in troops and resources, but it is not a crippling setback. I rule an empire. They are easily replaced. The only thing you've done is delay me a little. And that will cost you dearly.
Z-man finds himself grabbed by the neck as suddenly the Meddler emerges from a gate behind him. He's lifted off the ground. Desperately he tries to teleport out of his grasp, only to find that his power is being blocked somehow.
What part of god do you not understand? The divinity I've gained has enhanced and expanded all my natural powers, including my ability to manipulate the dimensional fabric. You can not escape me that way. And now I think it is time for you all to pay the price the for the inconvenience you have caused.
The Meddler raised his hand, elderitch energy crackling around it as he was about to deliver a fatal blast to the struggling Z-man, when suddenly a wall blew apart by a massive bolt of divine lightning. Z-man turned and saw an enraged Thor crackling with energy, fully charged with the Odinpower. The angry thunder god twirled his hammer.
MEDDLER! I WOULD HAVE WORDS WITH THEE!

KK: What?
DFA: Jaffa got beat up again.
KK: Oh. Well...... what are the chances of me helping & causing the mission to be successful, or complete it myself?
DFA: Infitessimal, sir.

Soon, the alien warships in the skies of Asgard blipped out of reality one by one, as the Andromeda displaced high level magic charms onto each vessel -- charms which returned them to whence they came. The same charms also returned the Meddler's Imperial forces to the Star Wars universe, where the distracted Imperial government would not be able to see to them for quite a long time.
As for the ground forces, the Andromeda sent down a ID gate which opened to a small station on Khazan and let through a group of self-regenerating and semi-intelligent magic golems (bought at a very good price) to clean up whatever creatures where left. It was merely a bonus that any stormtrooper that got in the way was hit by sleep spells.
Making a mental note to thank Pug of Midkemia for getting her the good deals on the creatures, Tanith then made her way back into the castle. She didn't want to miss the end of this fight.

*Nobody watches the golems work, wincing at the particullarly brutal sounds coming from the room they had just vacated.*
"Well, shall we go back, and see how well Thor's cleaned house?"

To say things were not going well for the Meddler would be an understatement. Thor was smacking him around like a red headed stepchild at Kmart. The one blast he did get off against the Thunder God, originally meant for Z-man, just made him madder.
The only thing that had kept him alive at all was his Nigh Invulnerability. Enhanced by his divine elevation, he was much more durable than the original Trickster God ever was. Even so, Thor had actually managed to make him bleed. He hadn't bled since had had gotten his powers.
A blow from Mjolnir knocked the Meddler into a wall, as well as breaking serveral of his ribs. They automatically healed, but it had certainly hurt. The Meddler just wanted to gate out of here, but with his Nigh Invulernability working overtime he had to use all the mental effort he could spare to keep it from rejecting Loki's power. Trying to focus on a destination, any destination, even for a moment, could cause him to lose Loki's power, and that would be fatal at this stage.
Then Cheeks dragons attacked. Two were instantly blown away by the Thunderer, and the rest backed down, but it did buy the Meddler enough of a respite to get a word in edgewise to Thor.
Wait! Kill me and you'll never get the Avengers back!
Just then a gate open up into the hall. Out stepped the Watcher, followed by a large and recognizable entourage.
"You mean these Avengers? I think they'd like to have a word with you."
And things went from bad to worse for the Meddler.

Due to consensus on AIM chat, I hereby declare BlackWarMewTwo dead. The Company, upon tracing him for their jaunt to track down Shadowstalker, found his dead body next to a weakened Cthulhu-Manuel. The Company then proceeded to avenge their comrade, either by killing or banishing the beast (we can't kill him without Manuel's approval).

The Meddler reeled as blows and blasts hit him from all directions. The Avengers had joined in on the fight against him and were determined to render him unconscious to before he could use his powers to exile them again. He was definitely feeling the pain.
He knew he had to gate out and soon, or else he would be knocked out and captured. And if any group could figure out a way to keep him captive, it would be them. But he had a problem. If he tried to gate out while his nigh invulnerability was in overdrive, his shift in concentration could let it reject Loki's power. Power he wanted to keep.
But then, he thought, if he was beaten into unconsciousness and captured by the Avengers, they could probably find a way to strip him of the power anyway. Thor with his Odinpower probably could. After all, when Odin had it he was able to render Thor mortal. Then he'd be mortal and a prisoner. He realized there was only one choice he could make to preserve his freedom.
Reeling under the massive assault, he used a split second lull in the Avenger's offensive to open a gate under him to one of his secret lairs. As he fell to his safety he felt Loki's Power leave him as his Immutability worked to restore his body from all the damage inflicted on it. He regretted the sacrifice, but accepted it was necessary. One day he'd get such power back, he swore. One day.

As Thor and the Avengers attacked the Meddler, Tanith and the others watched from the sidelines, ocassionaly flinching as a particularly nasty blow was dealt to the divine conqueror. It was an interesting, if brutal, spectacle that they would not soon forget. The Watcher took a special interest, using his tricorder to record the fight for posterity. And to sell copies, of course.
Suddenly, during a relative lull in the battle, there was a burst of light and thunder from where the Meddler stood, followed by the clang of metal hitting the ground. In place of the divine despot lay a Norse style dagger.
Tanith felt the power radiating from the artifact, and then a voice spoke in her head. She had never heard it before, but somehow she knew it was that of Loki, God of Mischief.
The power has been relinquished, and now is free to be claimed. Accept it and taste might undreamt of, power to insure your every whim fulfilled. Take it and know that thou shall never be vulnerable to thine enemies again, and that your every dream can be realized.
And in the back of her mind the dagger whispered seductively a song of power, seeding the urge for her to claim its divine might. Whether the seed fell on fertile ground remained to be seen.

.... only to be sent reeling back by a burning sensation from the magic sword still held in her right hand
Need: WHAT IN BLAZES DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, GIRL!!
Tanith: *shakes fog from head* Wha? Need? .... What happened?
Need: What happened, CHILD, is that you were almost *enthralled* by that cursed artifact!! Polgara taught you better than this, girl!!
Tanith: *wince* Oh my.
Need: "Oh my" indeed... You'd better put that medallion back on. Hopefully Eriond's blessing will protect you from that.... thing.
Meekly, Tanith gathered her will and commanded the medallion to separate. As it emerged from Need's hilt, she placed it back around her neck and under her gelsuit. Immediately, the seductive call of Loki's Dagger was reduced to a faint murmur in the back of her mind.
Tanith breathed a sigh of relief. She *really* needed a vacation from all this...

He felt the Loki's essence reach out from the dagger, trying to entice him to accept it, but luckily for him, his Nigh Invulnerability combined with his will were enough to let him resist its siren call.
"AHEM!"
Thor and the other Avengers turned to look at the Watcher.
"I really think you should keep this in a safe place."
Thor took the dagger from the Watcher's hand
Thor: Yay, verily. I shall dispose of this troublesome trinket forthwith. My thanks to you and your companions for your help. I would but have one more favor of thou.
"If it's within my power I'd be glad to help. What is it?"
Thor: Return my fellow Asgardians from the banishment your counterpart condemned them.
"Ummm, that's a pretty tall order. It would take me weeks to pluck them all back from where they were scattered."
Thor: Not if thou hadst power lent to thee. The Odinpower shall allow you to undo your doppleganger's deed.
And with that the Watcher felt a a rush of power flow through him, and his abilities increase a thousand fold. It was a heady feeling. Using his divinely enhanced power, he found every Asgardian and gated them all back to their homes simultaneously.
"They're back now. You can turn off the juice."
Thor ended his enhancement and the Watcher felt the divine energy slowly fade from his body.
"Wow, what a rush! That was a very interesting experience."
Thor: All of Asgard owes you all our gratitude. I bid you to stay for a feast in your honor.

That night, restored to pristine condition by the awesome force of the Odinpower, the capitol city of Asgard was in a state of revel. At Thor's feasthall it was so crowded it seemed as if the entire populace had shown up to thank their liberators. The delcious smells of roast meat wafted through the air. Mead and ale flowed heavily as the gods toasted their thanks to the heroes who had come to their aid. Balder, Sif, Heimdall, the Warriors Three, they all expressed their gratitude to the mortals in their midst.
At Thor's table those heroes sat, feasting on an array of fabulous dishes. Though Asgardian cusine was the default, any dish they desired could be produced thanks to the magic of the Grottekvarnen, or as the Finnish Jaffa had called it, The Sampo. As they ate music played and skalds recited poems in their honor, praising their various acts of heroism.
Then, as the feast continued, Thor waved for silence and then rose to address the feasthall
Gods of Asgard! Fellow Avengers! We hold this feast in honor of these brave souls, who despite the opposition most dire, came to our aid in our hour of need! For these acts of heroism, bravery, and service, all of Asgard shall be eternally thankful! And now I Thor, Sovereign of Asgard, deign to express our thanks with tokens of our gratitude!
With this he nodded and Valkeries came forward bearing the gifts the Thunderer spoke of.
Tanith! For thy deed of organizing the campaign of liberation and freeing me in my hour of weakness, I bestow upon thou a Horn of Valhalla, that we may repay thy aid with our own! When in need, simply speak the command word and blow the horn, and heroes from that blessed realm shall answer the summons for help!
A Valkerie presents a small golden horn to Tanith
Gemna! For braving the forces of the Meddler and guarding Tanith's side as she worked to heal me, I bestow upon thee a faithful companion of your own! Grim the Good, a drinking horn that speaks and knows much lore! May you benefit greatly from its wise counsel!
A Valkerie presents magnificent drinking horn ornamented with a the design of a man's head to Gemna.
I also can produce any drink you desire, young mortal. But that's a new ability I've only just perfected.
Jaffa! For your valiant efforts in battle against the Meddler, I bestow upon thee the sword Eversharp! Forged from unbreakable Uru, it has been enchanted to appear in your hand whenever you will it!
A Valkerie presents a Norse sword with gold and silver inlays on the guard and pommel to Jaffa.
Nobody! For your bravery in facing a foe of greater might, I bestow upon thee the belt Mightgiver! When worn, it shall imbue thee with the strength of a giant!
A Valkerie presents a golden colored belt to Nobody
Z-Man! For the great sacrifice you and your animal companions paid in the battle againt the Meddler, I bestow upon thee a Pouch of Remedy, to better take care of your pets and yourself! The salve it produces heals any wound and soothes any pain.
A Valkerie presents a small pouch to Z-man.
Watcher! For returning the Avengers and my people from exile, I bestow upon thee a Key of Power! With it no realm shall ever be barred from either your sight or your ability to travel! All barriers are as nought to thee!
A Valkerie presents a golden key on a chain to the Watcher.
To all of you heroes, we owe you our thanks! You will always be welcome guests in our realm!
At this the entire hall burst into cheers and applause for the mortals. Shouts of agreement came from all over.
Captain America: You know, the Avengers all owe you a debt of gratitude too. And we're pretty impressed with your performance as well. If any of you would like, we'd be happy to have you as reserve members.
That would be cool!
Tanith: Sounds good to me. I wouldn't mind helping out when I'm passing through your world.
And the feast went on through the night.
