Kahrla Kahram

Profession:    Centurion of Ta'Vaalor's Second Militia

Hail!

My name is Kahrla Kahram, current resident of Ta'Vaalor.

I was born to dwarven miners residing near the caves of Zul Logoth over 40 years ago. Though mining was their way of life, as a child I was fascinated of tales of my ancestors fighting alongside Taki Rassein and the Sabrar at the Battle of Shadow Guard.  I knew early on that I wanted to be a warrior in a military capacity and that Ta'Vaalor would be the best place to train in this field.  At the proper age of 23, I left my parents and headed east to follow my dream.

Imagine my dismay when I reached the outside walls of the city, and the Guardsmen turned me away with their weapons and strange Elven tongue, gesturing at me to turn around and go back where I came from.  Not wanting to dishonor my family, I traveled back west as far as the Khalerineth Valley.  The valley was filled with a mix of races and we lived in communes. There, I learned farming during the days and cultures of other races during the evenings.  Most of all, I learned how to live with so many different races in a purely altruistic society.  It was far different from being raised as an only child and having the world revolve around me in a strictly Dwarven community.

After ten years of living with my extended foster family, news reached us that Ta'Vaalor was opening it's gates to all races. My dreams of living the military life came flooding back, and packed my backpack full of acantha leaf, apples, and carrots for the trip.  I had no worldly possessions to bring along with me.

On the very first day I arrived I found Guard Lerryth and inquired about joining the Ta'Vaalor militia.  He informed me to speak with the Guard Captain.  I learned the city quickly looking around for the Captain; unfortunately, he ignored my pleas to join the guardsmen.  Being a determined dwarf, and not wanting my dreams shattered once again, I decided I could stand duty next to the Elven Guardsmen and learn the militia ways quite nicely.  I found the trainer in Malwith Inn and he had no problem in starting my training in the warrior ways that very first day in Ta'Vaalor.

I found other adventurers in the city who also wanted to be a part of the militia but they, too, were ignored by the Captain.  We all started learning about military life and our numbers grew.  We'd patrol different areas together and mostly protect the city from kobolds.  We had heard stories of the kobolds revolting in the Landing and we wanted to make sure this never happens in Ta'Vaalor.  We banded together as a unit the likes even the Elves would admire.

Thus, the Second Unit of the Ta'Vaalor Militia was started. You may have seen us out on patrol,  marching around the city to pick up trash, rescuing bodies from fanged rodents to bog wights, giving out gifts of survival to new people seeking their life in the Elven Nation, or just simply saluting a welcome to you.  As our numbers grow, and our trainings increase, our patrols will spread out.  You can find us on patrols in more areas now, from the catacombs to Neartofar Forest, keeping the critter population down before they can start up a revolt against the city.

We of the Second Unit/Militia are honorable people of all races and professions and only seek to protect and serve.  Our motto is "Honor Above All".  We promote group hunting and strive to teach by example.

If you feel a desire for living the military life, and are an honorable person who wishes to learn more or help teach this honor to others (Requirement: Patience), please feel free to seek me out in Ta'Vaalor.  When not out on Patrol, I am usually found in Victory Court North or South on break.  Even if I am not around, you can always find someone from the Second Militia in the city.

Peace to Ta'Vaalor,

Kahrla Kahram
