Divine Sorceress Soundtrack

In my epic romance, Divine Sorceress, Kagetsu goes up to the mountains to think about his life. Both Tiara and Lena are devastated; having crushes on him. However, six months later, the two Princesses are sent to meet with Divine Sorceress Sienna in order to have Tiara become her ageless successor. However, in order to do so, she has to revive her dead partner, Graham, and cast a powerful spell. Will she be able to go through with becoming ageless and live until passing her powers on or dying of physical wounds? Can she realize her true feelings for Graham? And what about Lena and Leon...?

This is how the tracks read...

A little description of the scene

1.Here Comes the Sun (the Beetles)
Tiara's New Mission
It is sort of a pan of the Guardian World to introduce the fic, even before we get to Kagetsu (though the storyline starts there, it is just a view of what we saw in the anime itself). The coming of the sun is referring to the fact that the Throne of Yord is now back safely in the Guardian World, and the people can relax.

2.Bring it All Back to You (S Club 7)
Sienna's Plan
This upbeat little diddy is here to show the confidence of the girls as they head for Sienna's. Plus, they've got to move forward with life now that their crush has left for the mountains. Thus, they can never give up, hold [their] head[s] high and reach the top as the song says.

3.Loosing Grip (Aviril Lavign)
Legend of the Divine Sorceress
The intensity and rapidly changing pace of this song drew me in. It shows the desperation, hope, and spirit of the Divine Sorceresses who have fought the Mihan Demons before Sienna when she tells the tale to Tiara.

4.Haunted (Evanescence)
In the Land of the Dead
Just during their wanderings. It is a reflection of Tiara's feelings for Graham, how he still haunts her in death. Something they couldn't show in the anime itself due to the flashbacky nature of the last two episodes that explained about Graham. I did write a songfic to it, but of course FF.net no longer allows them.

5.Viva 4 Ever (Spice Girl)
Action
Reunion of Tiara and Graham. Despite the fact that neither has acknowledged it, they are in love. Deep in their minds, they are reflecting on one another and their emotions.

6.Here Comes my Baby (Cat Stevens)
Action
At this point, the team is preparing to get supplies for the potion. Most likely, Graham is the focus of the song as he still does not find himself worthy of Tiara's affection.

7.Hello (Evanescence)
Firelight Thoughts
The somber tones fit the mood as Lena thinks of Kagetsu, Leon and how she feels about the situation.

8.She's Like the Wind (Patrick Swayze)
Firelight Thoughts
Tiara's turn to muse. The song is more of a character portrait of Tiara because it's sort of how Graham probably felt in Episode 6. I was also tempted to do a Graham-centric songfic to this, but then FF.net decided not to allow them. Tune wise, it's sort of wispy and mystical, fitting the Guardian World and Tiara's situation.

9.What Dreams are Made of (Hillary Duff)
Hillside Journey
At this point, they're traveling and searching for the cave. It's a more lighthearted chapter with a picnic and all, so I figured it would be best to use a lighthearted song.

10.Even Angels Fall (Jessica Riddle)
Hillside Journey
I thought of this as a character portrait of the way Tiara thinks of Graham and how little he thinks of his worth for her because the singer is trying to cheer up her suffering friend/crush (it's probably a guy cuz it was a girl that made him suffer, and there are very few people who sing about gaiety). It takes place when he asks to speak with her in private.

11.Intuition (Jewel)
Demon Battle
The fight scenes during that chapter. The song is extremely fast paced, fitting with the style of fights you see in any anime.

12.Two in a Million (S Club 7)
New Sorcery
The return to the house and experiments. It's just a calming sort of song for such a scene. Plus, on the technical level, Tiara has a short internal monologue about her feelings, despite not recognizing everything right away. The "Two in a Million" refers to her and Graham and the feelings they have for one another.

13.I Knew I Loved You (Savage Garden)
New Sorcery
Tiara and Sienna's conversation. Since it is about Tiara's deeper feelings and Sienna bears her heart about her and Miro in the past, I figured using a love song. Lyrically, the significance also is that she knew that she loved him, had dreamed him to life when creating her Partner, just didn't realize what it was until now.

14.Truly Madly Deeply (Savage Garden)
Romance
Tiara and Graham's little heart to heart. The song contains vows that I could picture Graham giving to Tiara. Plus, it's sweet.

15.Deep Inside of You (Third Eye Blind)
Romance
Lena and Leon's turn now. It depicts how her feelings have changed too, despite she didn't notice it.

16.Concrete and Clay (Unit Four + Two)
Transformation
It depicts the Trasnformation into Ultima. No, there is no theme for the final battle just cuz I actually wrote the fanfic based on a CD I'd already made. But the tune kind of made me think of joining into one being like a cheesy transformation scene. And of course, it's a love song so Tiara is becoming one with the man she cares about. Uh, I'll stay out of metaphors from now on.

17.One Moment in Time (Whitney Houston)
The End
All throughout the chapter. It reflects the changing of the world throughout the years following the victory. A sense of pride radiates through the tune, just like the one Tiara has from defeating the Ryultima. Plus, as the big roll of the music occurs near the end, I can just picture Tiara and Lena holding up their children with confidence towards the future.
