In Too Deep (Genisis): This one is from Jet to Virginia. Basically, the singer's lover is leaving, due to his behavior, and he doesn't want her to go. The line that made me think of Jet goes like, "It seems I've spent too long, only thinking about myself. Now I want, to spend my life, just caring about somebody else." Sounds like what he'd think after realizing he was in love. Hey! I'd like to see you try to find something better for someone like Jet to sing.

Cruel to be Kind (Several Bands): I'm going with the "Letters to Cleo" version on the soundtrack for "10 Things I Hate About You", as this is supposed to be Virginia singing. The singer's lover has a belief that in order to show he loves her, he has to be cruel to be kind. Well, Jet is often cold, almost cruel to Virginia, but you can still see he cares (he almost looks like he's blushing on several occasions, if you look closely).

Wind Beneath my Wings (Bette Midler): Another Virginia to Jet song. The singer's lover is a person who supports her whenever she is in trouble. Kind of like how Jet is always protecting Virginia. But what got me to notice this, was the mention of wings, as she's always talking about flying or wings. So this song even sounds like something she would think of.

Virginia wants to become stronger so she can help people. And Jet is one of the strongest characters in the game.

Jet is an incredibly cold individual due to his problems. Virginia aways offers to help him open up more.

She's offering to save him from the loneliness he feels deep inside; despite his reluctance to admit it. Although he always says he doesn't need anybody, deep down all Jet has wanted was for someone to accept him and stay with him forever.

Virginia is always getting in trouble, and it's Jet who protects her. He's also tried to leave them before, and she wonders what's out there for him that would make him want to leave their team.

When You Say Nothing At All (Allison Kraus): Another one from Virginia to Jet. The singer is in a romance where her lover doesn't say much, but his actions speak for him. Just like when Jet's continuous rescuing of Virgina tells a different story than what he tells her with his words.

Jet learned that he needed the support and friendship of his teammates in order to get through life. He found out how wrong he had been near the beginning of the quest. But even still, he and Virginia never stopped fighting.

Jet tries to leave, even after he decides to stay he still feels like he wants to go. However, he finds he can't. Then, he and Virginia can't keep their eyes off one another.

Trouble Me (10,000 Maniacs): Ginny to Jet. The singer has a close friend who keeps all of his burdens on himself, and she wants to help him. She even tells him that they can be more if he just troubles her with his problems. Jet is always hurting due to his past, whether or not he shows it to the others, and Virginia longs to help him.

Dearest (Ayumi Hamasaki, Inu Yasha 3rd ED): Ginny to Jet. And the first song from an RPG or Anime. Inu Yasha & Kagome are sooooooooo like Jet and Virginia. The in depth for this one only covers certain lyrics. They're in Japanese, but I will put the translation I found on-line in as well (In Bold Italics).

Jet is always by her side no matter what. Well, not really smiling, but he always protects her.

Symbolizing that they're always fighting with one another. In the repeat of this chorus, the last line becomes we've finally made it Kind of a wistful thought for all Jet/Virginia fans, they'll finally tell each other how they feel.

Echo (Trapt): Jet to Virginia this time. I didn't bother to write in the background vocals cuz it would be a real hassle. Besides, the Chorus has different ones each time; mainly repeats of the words inside of it.

Jet does have a little issue with his pride. He'd have to let it go in order to get anywhere and find what he wants. He also never seems to ask the why of things; it's there and that's it.

I don't need to solve this case, and I don't need to look behind
Jet's always looking at Virginia; as if he can't stop thinking about her. She also is always looking back at him with a look of concern over his pastlessness and eventually his identity. The "space" could very well refer to their fighting with one another and having to keep themselves apart at times in order to calm down.

Easy one, Jet's lost past. He can't escape who he really is, but he can make a new future with memories of his own. Line 2 can also describe all the hurtful words he said to Ginny and the others at any given time.

This is sung during the last two repeats of the chorus. The echo can very well be Virginia's voice ringing through his head; trying her best to get through to him and help him.

Forgive Me (Evanescence): Well, the song is about two people who had a fight and one said something hurtful to the other. However, the fight ended with one hurt and the other regretting it. That's practically the story of Jet and Virginia throughout the game. I lost count of how many times this happened.

Accidentally in Love (Counting Crows): Basically, the two people in the song didn't look for love in one another. They just found it. There's even a part that says that the singer (who is male if you've never heard the Counting Crows or seen Shrek 2; where the song was featured) says he doesn't know about love. That would be Jet; who only was shown how to fight and not how to care for others. However, finding one another made their whole lives better. That aspect applies to Jet whether or not you believe he loves her; he was able to become a better and more complete person because he met her.
Glory of Love (New Found Glory): This one is from Gourry to Lina. The singer makes himself out to be sort of a Guardian or Protector to his lover. He compares himself to a knight, and even says "I am a man who will fight for your honor." Sounds an awful lot like Gourry's devotion to Lina.

Whatever, Wherever (Shakira): Again, I'd like to see someone come up with something better for Lina to sing, she's not the type to just belt out a tune, or admit her love openly. Maybe it was just the fact that the singer is very small breasted like Lina (although she's much more acceptive of it).
The Search is Over (Survivor): This one is Rick to Lisa. The singer was looking for love in the wrong place, and never noticed that the girl for him was the one standing right before his eyes. Rick never seemed to notice his love for Lisa, as he spent much of the series chasing after Minmae.

Dreaming of You (Selena): Lisa to Rick this time. The singer was trying to get the man she loved to notice her, but doesn't succeed until the final verse. Kind of like how Lisa spent until the final episode of the Macross Saga chasing after Rick, until the thought of losing her made him realize which girl he really loved.
As Long as You Love Me (Backstreet Boys): This was the first ever song I compared to a relationship between two characters. It's from Max to Miriya. The singer doesn't care about who his lover was in the past, only that she loved him. Kind of like how Max ignored the fact that Miriya had been hell bent on killing him for defeating her in combat, understanding how she couldn't help what she was due to being a Zentradi, and only learning how to fight.

The Power of Love (Celine Dion): Miriya to Max this time. The singer seems to not understand too much about love, this is probably her first time. Miriya knew nothing about love before she met Max and he taught her how.
I'll Be There (Escape Club): I thought and I thought, and finally decided on this. This is Stahn to Rutee, after he is killed but before his son goes back in time and saves him (Tales of Destiny 2). The singer is dead, and tries to use this song to comfort his distraught lover. I could very well see Stahn doing this.

Miss Independent (Kelly Clarkson): This is so something for Rutee. The singer used to be distant from men, but now has decided to fall in love. She even refers to her old self as "Miss Independent" (hence, the title). Rutee was the type who never needed anyone else to take care of her, she was used to taking care of herself. But then Stahn came along, and you know the rest.
Even Angels Fall (Jessica Riddle): Prier to Croix; she's comforting him.

On the Way Down (Ryan Cabrerra)Rudy/Cecilia(WA1) Ashley/Marina (WA2), Jet/Virginia (WA3): Well, we know Jet won't be the one to sing it at karaoke night, but the song still fit him as well. It would be after Cecilia enters Rudy's Dream, Marina helps Ashley regain control of himself after using Lord Blazer's power, and Virginia vowed to help Jet make his memories.

I took a dive and
The incidents all three men went through prior to this nearly made them lose the will to live. Rudy and Jet couldn't bear who they turned out to be (although it took Jet a little more time to rage about it), while Ashley was slowly losing his soul to Lord Blazer. They were lost and needed help.

And I won't forget the way you loved me
And on the way down I almost fell right through

Afterwards, the girls come into the picture. Cecilia fought of Elizabeth and vowed not to leave Rudy even if she died. Marina was nearly choked by Lord Blazer as she tried to reawaken Ashley. Finally, Virginia was being Virginia and telling Jet how much that what he learned didn't change opinions on him; and how she wanted to help him find a reason to live and memories he could call his own. They all showed love for the victim (whether you believe the love was romantic or between two friends, it's still love). The three men held onto their support, and got better.

The aftermath of the incidents. Rudy and Jet discover their reasons to live while Ashley regains control of his body.
